Reflection Paper On Time Management
DESCRIPTION
Time management is a tool that will aid in becoming a successful student. Time management starts
with setting SMART goals. A SMART goal is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time
based. Once SMART goals are in place use calendars to get organized. Keep a monthly calendar
somewhere it can easily be seen to write down goals or deadlines. A whiteboard is one suggestion for
a monthly calendar. Colors or symbols can be used on the calendars to quickly show what is urgent
and what can be delegated. Use a weekly calendar and schedule class, study, work, and social time.
When making a weekly calendar follow the rule one hour of lecture time equals 2 hours of study.
Following this rule would give a person with 5 classes 30 hours of study time. The calendar created
with the schedule will help to create a task list. A task list consists of things that need to be done now
and things that can again be delegated. Setting small goals by month, week and then by the task are
the main tools to get organized using time management.
IMPACT
Learning about time management in EPS class was very informative and helped me immensely. I now
better understand exactly what time management is and how it affects me as a student. I thought that I
was an organized individual, but discovered through this assignment I need some work on my
discipline and organization skills. Going through the steps that are needed to manage time and trying
to put them to work in real life was a

Some Of The Things We See Our Everyday Life Like Movies
Shawn Scott Professor Stief English 1302.707 22 April 2017 Title Some of the things we see in our
everyday life like movies, television shows, or commercials depict different stereotypes of men. Men
are depicted to be people who are careless, make stupid mistakes, are self centered, independent, and
strong. They bring the money home and support the family, and the stars of the show but are often
incapable of solving the simplists of problems. In these examples there are many times women in the
background that hold everything together. These ideas can shape expectations and can be influential to
young viewers. Men in most movies are depicted as the bad guys. In all movies, with the exception of
superhero movies, men are the ones that do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie Friday Night Lights Boobie Miles makes sure that he is glorified over everyone else on
his team. Miles was the type of guy that would do anything and everything to get people s eyes on
him.In one scene the Panthers were beating a team really bad and as it got toward the end of the game,
the coach wanted to put in the second string running back. Boobie could not have this so he hid the
other running back s helmet so the coach would have no choice but to keep Boobie in the game. This
movie makes it seem that if you are not an athlete you are lesser of a person. Young people could take
the concept of a team as unimportant because of this movie. The film would promote the idea that it is
only up to one s self to have success and not the other individuals on the field. Being an athlete could
also become an excuse for getting away with things. In Friday Night Lights Boobie Miles uses the fact
that he is a really good athlete to take advantage of things he would not be able to get away with if he
was not a popular football player in his town. One thing that he does try to get away with is not doing
any school work. Younger viewers could get the idea from this movie that by being an athlete, you can
get away with things you should not get away with and gain the power to treat individuals poorly.
Guys, in television shows, are also depicted to be worry free and careless, and

Most Significant Events Essay
Some of the most significant events that took place during the 1st and 2nd century AD, was pentecost
and St Paul s conversion. Pentecost was 50 days after the Passover. Pentecost occurred when the 12
Apostles gathered in a house, when they saw a violent wind come from heaven. It filled the area, and
they saw tongues that looked like fire that separated and was above each of them. This was the first
time the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit, which allowed them to speak different tongues. One
of the Apostles filled with the Spirit preached to everyone that they should be baptised and they too
would be filled with the Holy Spirit. 3000 were baptised, which increased the growth of the Catholic
Church as it moved many to believe and become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time many influential people such as Saint Paul and Saint Stephen. Paul was a influence to
many people who listened to him. He Influenced people to believe in Jesus because of his own
experience. He was able to tell people that Jesus was real which made people believe him. He went on
three missions which was an important part in the growth of the church. During his missions has he
performed many miracles, he healed a cripple in Lystra. He also converted and preached to people,
helping them to become members of the Church. Also because of Pentecost, followers and believers
around the world could be empowered by the Holy Spirt, which opened more doors increasing
Christianity around the globe. Due to Pentecost we now have a sacrament, Baptism, that allows us to
be cleansed of Original sin and we are given the Holy

Convicts In Australia Essay
Between 1788 and 1868, as a punishment for crime, around 160 000 British and Irish convicts were
transported to the Australian colonies. A decision was made to transport criminals to Australia in order
for them to work. The decision was made against those who committed crimes. This was a beneficial
settlement, which forced convicts to leave their country and work in Australia. The convicts, when
transported to Australia, lived a very harsh and disciplined life.

This lead to the decision to transport convicts to Australia to work against the wishes of the criminals.
Working conditions in Australia for most convicts were brutal. Although convicts were transported to
Australia for a bad reason, some were very successful. Convicts who had skills such as carpentry,
were put to use but building the new town and others that were growing around it. Unfortunately, for
others, convict life was a living hell. Not every convict had special skills and behaved him or herself.
For those who were stubborn, there was a serious consequence.
Those judged to be unmanageable or defiant might be sent to even more isolates places of secondary
punishment. The most notorious of these were on Norfolk Island and at Port Arthur in Van Diemen s
Land (Tasmania). Brutal physical punishment, floggings and beatings were common and convicts
were worked beyond the point of exhaustion. Port Arthur prison was established as a penal settlement
in 1833. Here, psychological cruelty took precedence over physical brutality. Convicts spent long
periods in isolation, without any physical contact with the outside world. Over the 80 years from 1788
until the last convicts arrived in 1868, approximately 160,000 convicts were transported to the

Vitro Fertilisation ( Ivf )
The topic of in Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) has become one of the most controversial treatments assisting
infertile couples. This question was formulated from the research found regarding the biological,
financial and ethical factors clearly highlighted in the articles Ovarian Cancers caused by IVF (Natural
News) and In Vitro Fertilisation Today (American Express). The research indicates that IVF has
become much more common and it is important to understand if the beneficial factors prevail over the
problems linked with IVF. This report is written to argue that IVF is not a justifiable method in
assisting infertile couples. Dictionary.com defines a biological issue as anything that changes any
natural process. This report will investigate specific biological issues that are linked with this
treatment including, the hormonal effects on females, risk to the child and success rate of IVF. Social
issues are moral problems that affect a member or members of a society directly or indirectly. IVF is
associated with many social issues, the most prominent one being funding priorities. Another issue
that is considered the most fundamental philosophical issue raised by IVF is the moral status of the
embryo, which will be discussed in this report.
IVF or the test tube baby technique is a form of sexual reproduction that involves the removal of the
female eggs from a woman s ovaries merged with a male s sperm in a laboratory culture dish. There
are five steps associated with IVF but

Examples Of Loss Of Innocence In All Quiet On The Western...
In my book, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, the most intriguing aspect is
the loss of innocence by the main character, Paul, and his fellow soldiers. This is a recurring thought
that is shown throughout the novel. For instance, when the author writes, It is not fear. Mean who have
been up as often as we have become thick skinned (53). When he says this it is amidst the noises of
explosions and gunfire. It makes it very evident that the soldiers have become used to the constant
racket of war even during the pitch black of night. The author illustrates another example when he
writes, I was sitting in a dugout playing skat; after awhile I stood up and went to visit some friends in
another dugout. On my return nothing

As one of the Multimedia Super Corridor Flagship Applications, the development and implementation
of the chip based Bankcard began in 2000 with the Malaysian Electronic Payment System (1997) Sdn.
Bhd. (MEPS) at the helm working together with domestic banking institutions. Bank Negara Malaysia
served as the lead agency whose primary function is to facilitate the implementation. The Bankcard
will spur the vision of promoting electronic payment in the country. Initially the Bankcard will contain
three payment applications namely: 1. ATM 2. E Debit 3. MEPS Cash
The use of Bankcard encourages cashless payment transaction for various sectors e.g. retail, vending
machines, car parks and transport and closed community to leverage on Bankcard to use MEPS Cash
as the mode of payment. It also encourages participation of business venture in undertaking merchant
acquiring business.
Under this initiative of implementing multiple payment applications onto a single smart card, the
domestic banking institutions pioneered the chip based electronic purse during the Commonwealth
Games (SUKOM) in September 1998. The full implementation of the PMPC project (ATM, e Debit
and MEPS Cash) commenced in early 2001. In August 2002, several domestic banking institutions
began their pilot rollout by issuing the Bankcard to their staff and the public. On 28 February 2003,

Sight And Phonic Method
In the Literacy Methods course that is taught by, Dr. Walizer discussed this week with the class about
on how to introduce a word from the sight and phonics method, by the ERCI method. The sight
method involves a process, that starts by introducing a word, then reading it out loud, then by spelling
the word, and then lastly writing the word. It is perfectly ok to go through this method many times,
just to make sure each student is comprehending and grasping what you are trying to teach. To teach
this lesson, a teacher should have the word they are going to introduce on a notecard that the students
will eventually, be able to read, spell, and write out. The next step is when the teacher then uses the
word that is being introduced in a sentence, so that the students have a better idea of what that word ...

The teacher will then have the students proof and correct again and this time they can point to the
ceiling again or to the door, but to make sure they are writing the word, by pointing to each of the
letters. Although learning the words from the sight and phonics method they had quite a few
similarities as well as differences too. The main difference between them both was the class decoding
and the sounding out of each letter of the words. Essentially, the sight word is a lot easier to memorize
then the phonics method, because with the phonics method you have to break down each sound and
word by each letter too. The sight method could be a lot easier with easier words to make it easier on
your younger students and the phonics method could be a bit more difficult, but on the other hand but
helpful to them, by having them sound out each letter to determine what the word is. If a student is
unfamiliar with vowels, consonants, and homophones this could be a challenge and hard for them to
sound out each of the letters

Coca Cola And Its Impact On Society
Coca Cola a leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of soft drink products. Coca Cola was not
always the sugary syrup soft drink most people know today. As a matter of fact, before 1886 Coca
Cola was made with alcohol and cocaine. Concocted by Dr. John Pemberton a pharmacist in Atlanta
Georgia Coca Cola was originally named Pemberton s French Wine Coca. Dr. Pemberton marketed
the drink as a cure all for mental and physical disorders and was sold from a soda fountain at his local
drug store. A step ahead of prohibition, Dr. Pemberton replace the wine in his formula with a sugary
syrup. The cocaine portion of Coca Cola was removed before 1914 when cocaine was deemed illegal
in the United States of America. Coca Cola as we know today still contains coca but the narcotic
portion of cocaine, it is removed. Today, Coca Cola has expanded to over 200+ countries. From
concerts to sport venues to local restaurants you are more than likely to come across a Coca Cola
product, Coca Cola has had such an impact on society that it is given credit for how we portray Santa
Clause today. Other credits should also be given to Coca Cola like an increase in diabetes and other
diseases. Coca Cola has been known to cause several health issues such as diabetes, liver problems

Interview And The Field Experience
The interview and the field experience occurred on the same day of October 28th, 2016 at 6 pm. We
started with the interview and the meditation followed. During the interview process I sat in a dark
room with Michelle and another licensed witch and her avowed costumer David. We started the
process with explaining childhood religion based experiences. When I asked both Michelle and David
what religion they grew up in they both stated they grew up Southern Baptist and converted at an early
age. Michelle recalled a story where she believes she was in Sunday school and immediately felt as
though she was reincarnated and did not belong in the southern baptist religion. However, David grew
up feeling that everything that Southern Baptist believed was wrong or false according to his own set
of beliefs. It should also be noted that David is a Homosexual male, he described growing up in a
strict Southern Baptist household as complete hell and escaping felt like freedom.
We went on to discuss the media and the open mindedness of my generation. I came into Sojourner
thinking I was going to experience crystal balls and a old woman with long white hair, telling me my
future, I was totally wrong. Ironically, Michelle stated that misinterpretations and stereotypes rarely
happen anymore. Being surrounded by college students people are more open minded, stereotypes
come from older people and they reference the media. We continued to sit and discuss different

Most Common Illegal Drugs in the United States Essay
Marijuana is a drug formed by drying out the shredded flowers, stems, and leaves of the Indian hemp
plant. It is also the most common illegal drug used in the United States, and the second most used drug
in the world, behind alcohol. According to one national survey, approximately 6,000 Americans try
marijuana for the first time every day. Marijuana has been proven to positively affect some illnesses,
and the Medical Legalization Movement has made great progress in the US (randomhistory.com 2007
2014). However, should the drug be approved for recreational purposes? Several significant reasons
lead me to believe it should be. One major reason is the income. California, where marijuana is legal

Growing a plant like this on public grounds may be unsafe for the surrounding ecosystem as well as
hikers or visitors to the park. Legalizing the drug would get rid of any motives to cultivate such illicit
farms. This would effectively save millions in efforts to rid of these plants and environmental clean up
costs (www.mpp.org). California s taxpayer s are also shelling out for law enforcement officers to
chase down and arrest marijuana consumers. According to FBI statistics, California arrested 74,119
people on marijuana charges in 2007 nearly 80 percent of those were for simple possession
(www.mpp.org). In 2010, over 52 percent of all drug arrests in California were marijuana related,
which is the highest it s been since 1995. Despite all the efforts by law enforcement officers and the
exponential sum of money paid by taxpayers, chasing down people for using this plant costs us real
money and isn t proving an effective strategy for curbing its use (F. Aaron Smith, California policy
director for the Marijuana Policy Project, 2013). The closing statements in the previous paragraph lead
to the next senior reason for marijuana s regulation: the marijuana related crime. Marijuana s share in
the percentage of total drug arrests in California hit a high in 2010, reaching 52.1 percent. While it has
ever so slightly fallen in the years following, it is still a substantial statistic; more than half of all drug
arrests. Legalizing marijuana

Describe the Concept of Jit and Its Relationship to...
Just In Time (JIT) is a management philosophy which implements systems or processes which aims to
maximise return of investment by maximising production efficiency, improving product quality,
reducing manufacturing and logistical costs, and the elimination of waste. JIT, as the name implies,
also means bringing the right materials at the right place at the right time. Items must arrive as and
when they are needed, neither earlier nor later, but just in time . In its strictest sense, inventory is
considered a waste in JIT. In logistics, JIT aims to eliminate waste of all forms; be it time, resources or
materials.
Although the JIT concept has been applied loosely for years by various organisations, the JIT
philosophy we know today can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the computers delivered were customized according to different customer requirements, without
compromising on quality. With JIT, production levels can be easily adjusted to meet demand.
Integrated supplier and distributor networks were instrumental in the success of Dell Computers.
Without these relationships, Dell would not have been able to support a 50+% growth rate for 3
consecutive years that lead to $12 billion in annual sales by 1997. (Fillard, Frahm, Mercer Scott, n.d.)
Although the JIT system managed to revolutionise numerous companies in the way they run their
logistics, it is not all a bed of roses for some companies. Since JIT does away with supply inventory,
companies are sometimes forced to be over dependent on their JIT suppliers. Sometimes they are at
their suppliers mercy. Examples of this can be found at Ford Motor Company and General Motors.
Ford faced a problem with one of its suppliers which forced them to shut down six plants which cost
them tens of millions of dollars. The supply company for General Motors had a strike, and supplies
could not be delivered. Two thirds of their plants had to shut down. This cost GM about $600 million
in profits in 1996. (Glenn, T. 2001)
For JIT to be efficiently implemented, it is vital for companies to have the right partner suppliers
which share the same JIT commitment and drive. Toyota

Analysis Of Amma s Healing Room By Joyce Flueckiger
In Amma s Healing Room, Joyce Flueckiger quotes Amma as saying there are only two jatis (castes),
namely men and women. Drawing on our readings and films from this semester, and using Amma s
insight as your starting point, describe the different ways gender shapes how illness and health are
understood and experienced in different contexts. How does a focus on gender in medical
anthropology and the anthropology of religion impact how we talk about health and healing? Joyce

religious boundaries seem to be largely irrelevant. However, two thirds of her patients are women;

It is important to note that by surrender to the deity s power, the dominance over the woman is
sustained, even though it is shifted from the husband onto the worshiped being, as in Obeyesekere s
analysis of personally tormented Karuvanati Maniyo (Obeyesekere, 391). The exact same model of
control is present when the woman attempts to escape the boundaries imposed by the community.
Yellamma women are typically members of communities formerly designated as untouchable, what
directly suggests their social exclusion (Ramberg, 502). The control the community has over these
women, however, is somewhat erased when they become the ecstatics in Yellamma cult. The social
upgrade is marked by dominant caste devotees obligation to touch the feet of Yellamma women in a
gesture of humility in order to receive the blessing of the devi (Ramberg, 506). Therefore, women are
able to escape the discrimination by another form of submission, marked either by social seclusion, as
in case of Karuvanati Maniyo, or by creating the direct bond with the deity in a rite of marriage, as for
Yellamma ecstatics. However, Ramberg s further analysis on sexuality hints that the society, in order

a surprising demand but all those in the Khalasar believe it was because Bharbo saw promise in their
previous Khal s son and would one day make him a bloodrider or jaqqa rhan. Bharbo had a son,
Drogo, who was three years younger than Ziffio. They grew up competing and challenging each other

Fenian Movement
The word Fenian comes from Irish folklore. It is described as an ancient group of knights who were
independent and had a form of nationalism for their homeland of Ireland. According to the legend,
Irish rebels who were known as knights gave up a chance for world dominion by leaving their country
to keep Ireland alive, through their pride for the country. In 1848, a movement struck in Ireland, to
achieve independence from England by using force. The movement was led by a group of

Death and famine were causing the people to suffer in Ireland.
Landlords were trying to find the problem to the deaths. Landlords knew exactly what to do. They
evicted hundreds and thousands of peasants, because the work was not getting done (Considine 76).
Unemployment was the view of the workers due to soldiers coming home from the Napoleonic Wars
and more people were dying from disease. As the farmlands of Ireland were being cleaned out, over
the period of time, emigration increased at an excessive rate. Many Irish residents left for America and
other English speaking countries. During the famine, nearly one million people sought a new and
richer life in the United States. Ship owners crowded hundreds of Irish onto boats, later labeled coffin
ships (Ruddy 43). These ships reached port only after losing a third of their passengers to disease,
hunger and other causes. While Britain provided much relief for Ireland s starving population, many
Irish criticized Britain s delayed response and further blamed centuries of British political oppression
to underline the causes of the famine. As depression continued in Ireland, two million more people left
to seek this new life. But even leaving wasn t the cure. The Irish were already stressed out due to the
economy caused by its Poor Law System.

Cause Of Homework
Is homework more trouble than it is worth? Many students would say it is. Often times, students will
work on homework for several hours a day and produce no results. Whether it is in tests, quizzes, or
real life situations, improvement does not always show in the results. In fact, homework can cause
many different problems. Teachers should stop assigning homework so students will not feel as
stressed about school, will have more time to do activities, will have less strain in their relationships,
and will not have the negative effects that homework brings.
Having too much homework causes students large amounts of stress and lack of sleep that can cause
health problems. On a survey that Stanford researchers tested on 4317 students, fifty six percent of the
students considered homework a primary source of stress, forty three percent of the students viewed
tests as a primary stressor, thirty three percent put pressure to get good grades in that category

means that about 4273 students considered homeword a stressor, while less than 50 out of 4317
students believed homework to not be a stressor. Out of the students surveyed, the average amount of
homework was three hours and six minutes of homework (Greicius). The large amount of homework

Garvey Vs Frantz Fanon Essay
Marcus Garvey, a political activist who gave a speech at Nova Scotia, fought against the hegemonic
ideas of society to ensure that Blacks are in a world where they can be able to thrive by uniting the
diaspora of Blacks into Africa. In comparison, Frantz Fanon, a West Indian philosopher, challenged
the racial narratives, post WWII, to exhibit how Blacks were seen through society s eyes because of
these racial narratives and plans to change the perception that has been bestowed on Blacks for

In a speech in Nova Scotia, Garvey shared that we are going to emancipate ourselves from mental
slavery because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind. Garvey
challenges the hegemonic idea that Blacks are subject to one way of thinking and that the kind of
thinking Blacks do holds them back from emancipating themselves from cultural hegemony. In
addition, the evidence exhibits how Garvey exploited why Blacks haven t yet abolished hegemonic
ideas and gives his solution. Moving forward, Garvey talks about bringing freedom to the diaspora of
the Black race through unity. Further into the speech at Nova Scotia, Garvey claims that these four

and it is for this purpose, that we are asking you to join our land and to do the best you can to help us
bring about an emancipated race. This hegemonic idea that Blacks cannot think for themselves has is

Data And Data Analysis Paper
The world is converging toward a critical point in history where the question has to be asked, will
there be enough resources to go around? Populations around the globe are growing and moving out of
poverty towards the consumption based lifestyles of western countries. This means more is needed,
more oil, more water, and more food. These resources are finite, limited, and often wasted. Through
the use of technology and data, these resources can be better utilized. Data and data analysis will allow
these systems to be optimized to produce more and waste less. The goal of this project is to use data
and apply it to the field of plant growth and agriculture. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a data driven
technology that seeks to integrate and connect everyday devices and sensors. This data infrastructure
can be used for a variety of applications such as home automation, industrial manufacturing,
healthcare, and smart agriculture. Although each application is derived from a significantly different
field, the underlying communication protocols are very similar and must adhere to similar constraints.
The constraints of low power devices, lossy links, noisy environments, and embedded
microcontrollers with limited memory and processing power. These protocols are the basis of the IoT
protocol stack. They create the framework that determines how data is transferred within an IoT

Roald Dahl s Use Of Indirect Characterization In The Landlady
The Landlady is an eerie short story written by Roald Dahl about Billy Weaver, a young businessman
who finds himself in a potentially fatal situation when he stays at a Bed and Breakfast in Bath,
England. The Landlady of this boardinghouse is exceedingly creepy throughout the plot toward Billy,
making the reader wonder what she is planning. This story was then made into an equally strange
short film. During the making of this film, the producers chose to leave out a certain scene. In the
beginning of the written story, Billy discovers the Bed and Breakfast and peers in the window. Inside,
he sees many positive signs such as pets, a fire burning in the hearth, and pleasant furniture. To end
the scene, Mr. Weaver feels compelled by these qualities in the boardinghouse to walk up to the door
and knock, which is when the Landlady swiftly answers. I s1believe the inclusion of this segment in

The Notion Of Mortality In The 16th And 17th Century
Scholars explore the notion of melancholy in the 16th century and 17th century by presenting its
causes, symptoms, cures, and origins. Interestingly, they all incorporate and refer to the work of
Robert Burton s The Anatomy of Melancholy to support their argument. Angus Gowland, author of
The Problem of Early Modern Melancholy, derives the symptoms of melancholy from sadness and
fear. Then, Gowland notes how these symptoms are the most prominent features of melancholy. In
other words, it is known that melancholy is mainly linked from sadness and fear. However, he fails to
explain where he drew these conclusions from, and mentions the reader should understand the breadth
of the cultural resonance and recognize the multiple and interrelated psychological meanings of the
term , melancholy. To inform the reader, he introduces how melancholy expanded. First, he refers to
particular forms of behavior and experiences relating to emotion. He indicates that these forms can
explain why women are especially susceptible and are marginally more likely to be diagnosed of
melancholy. As a result, this led increased the attraction of melancholy in the aspect of moral,
spiritual, and medical attention. This is important because this leads to further research on the moral
and spiritual aspects on melancholy and increasing the medical attention. Thus, physicians and
historians can refer to these works and explain the understanding of melancholy for all. One fault in
this claim is how he fails to elaborate or list what particular behaviors and experiences that women.
Gowland simply presents his claim and continues to the next subtopic without further explanation. To
add, the author of Melancholy and the Therapeutic Language of Moral Philosophy in Seventeenth
Century Thought, Jeremy Schmidt agrees with Gowland on his prominent symptoms of melancholy.
However, Schmidt presents his contention differently. He showcases how melancholic emotions were
the primary substance of melancholic dotage; the ravings of the melancholically mad and their
frequent obsession with a single idea were often driven by an overwhelming feeling of fear and
sorrow. Schmidt implies that those with this melancholic condition were mad and have an

Auguste Rodin Theme Of Life
Life on the inside, reflects life on the outside. ~ Robin S. Sharma. When creating sculptures one of the
most popular themes to create is that of life. This is as it is a very broad theme giving each artist their
own platform to show what it means to them. There are many sculptores that have taken on the theme
of life. Some of these include Michelangelo, Andy Goldsworthy and Jason Decaires Taylor; however,
Auguste Rodin and Janet Laurence are two of the most interesting artists to explore in the way that
they created life through sculpture. Sculpture is... the most diverse and evolving artistic medium.
(Leaper, C. (2003))
Although both artists use sculptural methods, they interpret life very differently. Rodin explores it
through emotions and inner turmoil while Laurence through the environment and our relationship with
it. To put it simply: Rodin looks within himself to find inspiration for his artwork while Laurence
looks outside to find meaning.
Auguste Rodin, who was born November 12, 1840, and died November 17 1917 is a French artist who
is well known for his sculptures. He uses traditional, figurative imagery to convey meaning, to express
life and emotions in his work. Some of his most famous statues include: The Thinker, The Cathedral
and Pierre and Jacques De Wissant, Right Hand. While Rodin is a well known artist now, he wasn t
widely established until he was in his 40s. To Rodin, art was the expression of life. (Israel, G. (2002).

The Shareholders Of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd
Earnings per share (also called net income per share) is a ratio that measures net income earned per
share of stock outstanding, and is the money each share of stock would receive if all of the profits
were distributed to the outstanding shares at year end. The higher the EPS, the better the business is as
an investment from a shareholders perspective. EPS could be due to an increase in profit or a decrease
in the number of shares in issue, which causes the return for each share to be higher.
Application:
Earnings per Share serve as an indicator of a company s profitability. The EPS increased 325 cents
from 773 cents in 2013 to 1098 cents in 2014. The company s profitability increased by 42% in 2014,
which is a great improvement from 2013. Profits increased from R3 514 100 000 in 2013 to R5 005
500 000 in 2014, and this played a big role in causing the EPS to increase by 42%. The shareholders
of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd should be satisfied as the current year (2014) EPS was higher than
usual, and a higher earnings per share ratio often makes the stock price of a company rise.

Physical Activity Level And Health Status
Benefits of Physical Activity:
Many evidences are now showing that regular exercise is an effective strategy to prevent and treat
several chronic diseases (e.g., cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, depression, and
osteoporosis) [29]. It has been demonstrated that the current CPAG is sufficient to elicit health
benefits, especially in people who were previously sedentary [30]. Generally, a positive linear
relationship exists between physical activity level and health status [31]. Both aerobic and resistance
exercises have been shown to be associated with positive health outcomes [32 34].
Barriers Associated with Physical Activity:
Many barriers have been identified which attribute to why people do not exercise regularly to obtain
and maintain health benefits [35, 36]. Commitment towards family, work pressure, and time have been
rated as common barriers people face to be physically active [8]. Recent advances in technology have
resulted in an increases in time spent sedentarily, especially at work [37], but also in leisure time [38,
39]. In addition, long hours of work is specifically a barrier for adults as they are mentally exhausted
and do not feel like exercising [40]. Specifically for older adults, fear of getting injured from physical
activity and self efficacy restricts them from being sufficiently physically active to observe optimal
health benefits [40]. In addition to these, weather conditions, lack of transportation, poor facility,

  • 2. Reflection Paper On Time Management DESCRIPTION Time management is a tool that will aid in becoming a successful student. Time management starts with setting SMART goals. A SMART goal is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time based. Once SMART goals are in place use calendars to get organized. Keep a monthly calendar somewhere it can easily be seen to write down goals or deadlines. A whiteboard is one suggestion for a monthly calendar. Colors or symbols can be used on the calendars to quickly show what is urgent and what can be delegated. Use a weekly calendar and schedule class, study, work, and social time. When making a weekly calendar follow the rule one hour of lecture time equals 2 hours of study. Following this rule would give a person with 5 classes 30 hours of study time. The calendar created with the schedule will help to create a task list. A task list consists of things that need to be done now and things that can again be delegated. Setting small goals by month, week and then by the task are the main tools to get organized using time management. IMPACT Learning about time management in EPS class was very informative and helped me immensely. I now better understand exactly what time management is and how it affects me as a student. I thought that I was an organized individual, but discovered through this assignment I need some work on my discipline and organization skills. Going through the steps that are needed to manage time and trying to put them to work in real life was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some Of The Things We See Our Everyday Life Like Movies Shawn Scott Professor Stief English 1302.707 22 April 2017 Title Some of the things we see in our everyday life like movies, television shows, or commercials depict different stereotypes of men. Men are depicted to be people who are careless, make stupid mistakes, are self centered, independent, and strong. They bring the money home and support the family, and the stars of the show but are often incapable of solving the simplists of problems. Miles was the type of guy that would do anything and everything to get people s eyes on him.In one scene the Panthers were beating a team really bad and as it got toward the end of the game, the coach wanted to put in the second string running back. Boobie could not have this so he hid the other running back s helmet so the coach would have no choice but to keep Boobie in the game. This movie makes it seem that if you are not an athlete you are lesser of a person. Young people could take the concept of a team as unimportant because of this movie. The film would promote the idea that it is only up to one s self to have success and not the other individuals on the field. Being an athlete could also become an excuse for getting away with things. In Friday Night Lights Boobie Miles uses the fact that he is a really good athlete to take advantage of things he would not be able to get away with if he was not a popular football player in his town. One thing that he does try to get away with is not doing any school work. Younger viewers could get the idea from this movie that by being an athlete, you can get away with things you should not get away with and gain the power to treat individuals poorly. • 8. Examples Of Loss Of Innocence In All Quiet On The Western... In my book, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, the most intriguing aspect is the loss of innocence by the main character, Paul, and his fellow soldiers. This is a recurring thought that is shown throughout the novel. For instance, when the author writes, It is not fear. Mean who have been up as often as we have become thick skinned (53). When he says this it is amidst the noises of explosions and gunfire. It makes it very evident that the soldiers have become used to the constant racket of war even during the pitch black of night. The author illustrates another example when he writes, I was sitting in a dugout playing skat; after awhile I stood up and went to visit some friends in another dugout. On my return nothing ... Sight And Phonic Method In the Literacy Methods course that is taught by, Dr. Walizer discussed this week with the class about on how to introduce a word from the sight and phonics method, by the ERCI method. The sight method involves a process, that starts by introducing a word, then reading it out loud, then by spelling the word, and then lastly writing the word. It is perfectly ok to go through this method many times, just to make sure each student is comprehending and grasping what you are trying to teach. To teach this lesson, a teacher should have the word they are going to introduce on a notecard that the students will eventually, be able to read, spell, and write out. The main difference between them both was the class decoding and the sounding out of each letter of the words. Essentially, the sight word is a lot easier to memorize then the phonics method, because with the phonics method you have to break down each sound and word by each letter too. The sight method could be a lot easier with easier words to make it easier on your younger students and the phonics method could be a bit more difficult, but on the other hand but helpful to them, by having them sound out each letter to determine what the word is. Unemployment was the view of the workers due to soldiers coming home from the Napoleonic Wars and more people were dying from disease. As the farmlands of Ireland were being cleaned out, over the period of time, emigration increased at an excessive rate. Many Irish residents left for America and other English speaking countries. During the famine, nearly one million people sought a new and richer life in the United States. Ship owners crowded hundreds of Irish onto boats, later labeled coffin ships (Ruddy 43). These ships reached port only after losing a third of their passengers to disease, hunger and other causes. While Britain provided much relief for Ireland s starving population, many Irish criticized Britain s delayed response and further blamed centuries of British political oppression to underline the causes of the famine. As depression continued in Ireland, two million more people left to seek this new life. But even leaving wasn t the cure. • 27. Cause Of Homework Is homework more trouble than it is worth? Many students would say it is. Often times, students will work on homework for several hours a day and produce no results. Whether it is in tests, quizzes, or real life situations, improvement does not always show in the results. In fact, homework can cause many different problems. Teachers should stop assigning homework so students will not feel as stressed about school, will have more time to do activities, will have less strain in their relationships, and will not have the negative effects that homework brings. Having too much homework causes students large amounts of stress and lack of sleep that can cause health problems. On a survey that Stanford researchers tested on 4317 students, fifty six percent of the students considered homework a primary source of stress, forty three percent of the students viewed tests as a primary stressor, thirty three percent put pressure to get good grades in that category (Parker). Less than one percent of the students said that homework was not a stressor (Parker). That means that about 4273 students considered homeword a stressor, while less than 50 out of 4317 students believed homework to not be a stressor. Out of the students surveyed, the average amount of homework was three hours and six minutes of homework (Greicius). The large amount of homework causes large amounts of stress, but it also causes sleep deprivation and other health problems such as headaches, exhaustion, sleep deprivation, ... In comparison, Frantz Fanon, a West Indian philosopher, challenged the racial narratives, post WWII, to exhibit how Blacks were seen through society s eyes because of these racial narratives and plans to change the perception that has been bestowed on Blacks for centuries. In a speech in Nova Scotia, Garvey shared that we are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind. Garvey challenges the hegemonic idea that Blacks are subject to one way of thinking and that the kind of thinking Blacks do holds them back from emancipating themselves from cultural hegemony. In addition, the evidence exhibits how Garvey exploited why Blacks haven t yet abolished hegemonic ideas and gives his solution. Moving forward, Garvey talks about bringing freedom to the diaspora of the Black race through unity. Further into the speech at Nova Scotia, Garvey claims that these four million people are working to convert the rest of the four hundred million that are all over the world, and it is for this purpose, that we are asking you to join our land and to do the best you can to help us bring about an emancipated race. • 30. Data And Data Analysis Paper The world is converging toward a critical point in history where the question has to be asked, will there be enough resources to go around? Populations around the globe are growing and moving out of poverty towards the consumption based lifestyles of western countries. This means more is needed, more oil, more water, and more food. These resources are finite, limited, and often wasted. Through the use of technology and data, these resources can be better utilized. Data and data analysis will allow these systems to be optimized to produce more and waste less. The goal of this project is to use data and apply it to the field of plant growth and agriculture. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a data driven technology that seeks to integrate and connect everyday devices and sensors. This data infrastructure can be used for a variety of applications such as home automation, industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and smart agriculture. Although each application is derived from a significantly different field, the underlying communication protocols are very similar and must adhere to similar constraints. The constraints of low power devices, lossy links, noisy environments, and embedded microcontrollers with limited memory and processing power. These protocols are the basis of the IoT protocol stack. They create the framework that determines how data is transferred within an IoT network [3][4]. The focus of active IoT research is shifting towards data, how data is sent, how ... Roald Dahl s Use Of Indirect Characterization In The Landlady The Landlady is an eerie short story written by Roald Dahl about Billy Weaver, a young businessman who finds himself in a potentially fatal situation when he stays at a Bed and Breakfast in Bath, England. The Landlady of this boardinghouse is exceedingly creepy throughout the plot toward Billy, making the reader wonder what she is planning. This story was then made into an equally strange short film. During the making of this film, the producers chose to leave out a certain scene. In the beginning of the written story, Billy discovers the Bed and Breakfast and peers in the window. Inside, he sees many positive signs such as pets, a fire burning in the hearth, and pleasant furniture. To end the scene, Mr. Weaver feels compelled by these qualities in the boardinghouse to walk up to the door and knock, which is when the Landlady swiftly answers. • 34. The Notion Of Mortality In The 16th And 17th Century Scholars explore the notion of melancholy in the 16th century and 17th century by presenting its causes, symptoms, cures, and origins. Interestingly, they all incorporate and refer to the work of Robert Burton s The Anatomy of Melancholy to support their argument. Angus Gowland, author of The Problem of Early Modern Melancholy, derives the symptoms of melancholy from sadness and fear. Then, Gowland notes how these symptoms are the most prominent features of melancholy. In other words, it is known that melancholy is mainly linked from sadness and fear. However, he fails to explain where he drew these conclusions from, and mentions the reader should understand the breadth of the cultural resonance and recognize the multiple and interrelated psychological meanings of the term , melancholy. To inform the reader, he introduces how melancholy expanded. First, he refers to particular forms of behavior and experiences relating to emotion. He indicates that these forms can explain why women are especially susceptible and are marginally more likely to be diagnosed of melancholy. As a result, this led increased the attraction of melancholy in the aspect of moral, spiritual, and medical attention. This is important because this leads to further research on the moral and spiritual aspects on melancholy and increasing the medical attention. Thus, physicians and historians can refer to these works and explain the understanding of melancholy for all. One fault in this claim is how he fails to elaborate or list what particular behaviors and experiences that women. Gowland simply presents his claim and continues to the next subtopic without further explanation. To add, the author of Melancholy and the Therapeutic Language of Moral Philosophy in Seventeenth Century Thought, Jeremy Schmidt agrees with Gowland on his prominent symptoms of melancholy. However, Schmidt presents his contention differently. He showcases how melancholic emotions were the primary substance of melancholic dotage; the ravings of the melancholically mad and their frequent obsession with a single idea were often driven by an overwhelming feeling of fear and sorrow. Schmidt implies that those with this melancholic condition were mad and have an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Physical Activity Level And Health Status Benefits of Physical Activity: Many evidences are now showing that regular exercise is an effective strategy to prevent and treat several chronic diseases (e.g., cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, depression, and osteoporosis) [29]. It has been demonstrated that the current CPAG is sufficient to elicit health benefits, especially in people who were previously sedentary [30]. Generally, a positive linear relationship exists between physical activity level and health status [31].
