The Culture Of American College
Cultures vary tremendously throughout the world and within many of these cultures are sub cultures
that do not necessarily operate under the same standards for example, the culture of American college
students. Subcultures, according to Clark and Trow, represent clusters of attitudes, norms, and models
of behaviors rather than groups of people (Warren, 1968). It is hard for someone to not have any
ethnocentric bias to a culture they have not yet been part of or witnessed first hand. Transitioning from
the subculture I have grown up in my entire life, to the American college culture was a huge change.
Before attending college I did not have a strong ethnocentric bias to the college culture because I had
already known people who had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to attending WSU, I did not give much merit to the information that I received about what
college would be like unless I was being told by someone who had reliable first hand experience and
especially so if they do or had attended WSU themselves. I would always hear people saying that
WSU is a party school, and I think that is due to the fact that WSU has a lower GPA requirements than
some schools and people assume it is full of the people who were not accepted into UW. Although that
is the case for many students here, I know a great deal of students who attend WSU and were also
accepted by UW and other schools as well.
The state of Washington has its own subculture of the United States, and within the state of
Washington there are many different subcultures, both big and small (Lieske, 1993). Once you go
from eastern Washington to western Washington there is a massive change in the subculture of the
people. The culture of western Washington is more liberal than in eastern Washington where people on
average are more conservative (Lieske, 1993). As well as political views and other factors, there is a
huge separation between supporters of UW and WSU. Living on the western side of Washington I did
not know that the WSU culture and pride was so strong out here. I had thought that everyone prefers
UW because it is considered a better school and located in Seattle, but one I arrived out here I was
shocked by the pride that Cougs have. I had no

there have been many crucial discoveries at the Cavendish Laboratory, including DNA, the electron,
and the proton. Maurice Wilkins was a chemist who determined that using x ray crystallography
would be useful in the process of studying DNA. James Watson attended a lecture by Wilkins on the
subject, which also included ideas about the form of DNA, and Watson soon wanted to be involved.
Francis Crick, who was working on his dissertation on the x ray crystallography of hemoglobin, was
approached by Watson, who desired Crick s help in studying DNA. Watson and Crick made several
models of DNA based on the information available at the time. However, it was not until they
obtained x rays taken by Rosalind Franklin that they realised DNA had a double helix shape. These x
rays were obtained without Franklin s permission and were crucial to the discovery of the shape of
DNA. Watson and Crick s first article on their discoveries regarding the double helix shape appeared
in an issue of the journal Nature, along with other articles on DNA by other scientists. Watson, Crick,

Serial Killers Of Jack The Ripper
Jack The Ripper was a serial killer in East End London, in the late 1888 s. No one knows who it is to
this day. There are several theories to who it could be, most are males but there is still a little doubt
that could have been a woman, maybe both? The only thing that is known for sure these women were
victims of him or her. Jack The Ripper was known for the way he murder, he left cuts on both sides of
the neck and made the knees or legs of the women up towards her chest or in the air; in some cases he
would destroy the body so bad that it was hard to identify who the victim was. One of the only reasons
police knew who the victims were in because Jack would write notes to the police office or the
newspaper company telling them who was killing next but not when. Jack The Ripper was a man of
pattern and rountie. His killings were all almost alike and his victims had profiles that matched each
other s.
Jack had five victims, who were all women; the women had a couple things in common, all but one of
the women were in their 40s, they were all drinkers, and most of the five women were known to be in
the business of prostitution. All five victims were found dead in poorly lit alley ways or stairways,
with their necks cut on either side and other lacerations throughout the body.
According to Josh Clark, this is what happened to the five victims of Jack The Ripper. Mary Nichols
was the first victim, found on August 31, 1888 at 3:45am. Mary was 44 years old who liked her
drinks. She was found in a narrow side street of Buck s Row in the Whitechapel; she had an eight inch
laceration to her throat that cut both of her major arteries and she had violent cuts on her abdomen.
Annie Chapman was the second victim, she was found on September 8, 1888 at 5:45am. Annie was a
47 year old widow who was a heavy drinker and survived through prostitution. Annie was found
outside an apartment at 29 Hanbury Street with a man of shabby genteel , a few minutes after her
being spotted with the man, a muffled scream of No! followed by a loud thump on the fence. Her body
was found in the backyard of the apartment, with her feet pushed up toward her body, knees in the air
and spread apart. Her throat was cut deeply from left to right,

The Expansion Of Electric And Hybrid Vehicles
Supposedly implicit in the term leading edge technology is the expansion of electric and hybrid
vehicles in the GM line. Indeed, in order to meet its commitment to help achieve 500,000 electric or
hybrid vehicles on the U.S. road by 2017 and to help reduce the average carbon emissions of U.S. cars
by 15% by 2016, GM must continue to invest in green vehicles. However, multiple challenges
currently stand in the way of GM s previously defined goal to become an electric car provider. In fact,
this paper suspects these challenges prompted GM to omit mention of electric cars in its 2014 strategic
plan, and insofar as the failure to specifically mention electric cars signifies a wavering in the
company s commitment to green technology, GM has opened itself up to significant criticism in the
formulation of its 2015 strategy. Given the current price of Brent Crude at $49.31 per barrel, down
more than $50 in less than two years, demand for fuel efficient cars has seen a precipitous decline.
Through June 2015, the market share for hybrid electric cars and electric vehicles accounted for 2.8%
of automobile market share, down from 3.6% through the same period in 2014. Correspondingly, GM
s plug in hybrid Volt fell 35% in July. To make the outlook more dismal for electric cars, a global glut
in oil and weakening world demand both point to sustained low prices for oil over the medium term.
Despite these negative signs, GM must reaffirm its commitment to the design and

Morning After Pill
There is a pill becoming readily available that would aid in reducing the amount of unwanted
pregnancies. It is the morning after pill as it is being called. This pill can be used during the first three
days after unprotected sexual intercourse to prevent the fertilization of an egg or the attachment of a
fertilized egg to a woman s uterus. The question is not necessarily in the ethical issue of the pill itself.
The problem or question lies in the issue of the pill being sold with or without a prescription. The
measure would allow girls and women to obtain this medication, without a physician s visit or
prescription and without parental consent regardless of the patient s age.
For those who believe that every fertilized egg is a human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only for the individuals trying to purchase the pill but also for pharmacists. There is a spillover
effect to also consider; how the medication will be sold. Will it be put next to over the counter drugs
or condoms? Or would it be sold only behind the counter, meaning the pharmacist still must hand then
over even though no do prescription is required? These are questions that need to be considered before
making a decision.
In Summary, the pill remedies the chance of ineffectiveness of methods of contraception like birth
control and condoms without invasive surgery. The pill has the potential to reduce the number of
surgical abortions and undesired pregnancies in the United States considerably, especially if it is
provided over the counter. The pill is radically more effective the sooner one takes it after intercourse
and the great advantage of making it available over the counter as opposed to by prescription only, is
that it would give a larger number of women faster and more access to it. Fortunately, for the women
of America, the FDA has recommended making the morning after pill available over the counter in the
United States as it is in other

Subsidy
Background.
What this paper endeavours to illustrate is that government funding is sometimes necessary for the
sustainable functioning of the economy and society from a holistic perspective. Firstly, let us define
the term subsidy , and how this fits in an economic context. Oxford Dictionary defines subsidy as
follows: a sum of money granted by the state or a public body to help an industry or business keep the
price of a commodity or service low (OED Add. Ser. Vol. 3, 1997). Subsidising industry is anathema
to the concept of free trade as the very foundation of free trade, as we know, is built on the cornerstone
of laissez faire capitalism and a limited role for government inasmuch as the market is out of the
sphere of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This approach will provide for us a rounded view of how one symptom of a potential short fall in the
market may lead to the development of more symptoms and impact the economy in a more noticeable
way.
If we loosely adopt the progression as depicted in the vicious cycle diagram on the left, and begin
from the initial action of the closure of SPC, there is an immediate impact on the market by way of
equity (i.e., Coca Cola Amatil s share holders are affected), companies relying on SPC will find it
difficult to adapt to the new business conditions as they will now have to adjust for the loss of a
significant client, strain will also be placed on competitors as they may need to facilitate for greater
supply in order to satisfy the growing demand (thus placing unprecedented pressure on the business
and potentially increasing their over heads and capital outlay). Furthermore, certain communities and
townships may have flourished due to the inception or establishment of an industry or business (in this
context, the Shepparton, Victoria community where the canning facility is based) may now experience
difficulty and major adjustments that will effectively impact other areas of operations in the market. It
s almost impossible to quantify the level of impact on the market without an actuarial investigation,
but if we can assume that the local currency is affected, this may greatly affect other businesses that
rely on imports. When the purpose of business is to make

King Lear Women
In the past, women were perceived as housewives, who were expected to stay home to cook, clean,
and watch the children. In the works of William Shakespeare, women play various roles, whether it be
supporting and central or negating and subtle. In Shakespeare s King Lear, the women are
authoritative figures, who are nearly more dominant than their male counterparts. Goneril, Lear s
eldest daughter, constantly manipulates her life and the lives of others by lying and getting rewarded
and telling the truth and getting punished, which ultimately leads to her death. Having been King of
Britain for a long time, Lear announces his plan to divide his kingdom amongst his three daughters,

Goneril and Regan, both of whom have lied to their father, inherit half of the kingdom, while
Cordelia, who tells the truth to her father by saying, I love your Majesty / According to my bond, no
more nor less (35), is disowned by her father and left with nothing. By lying, Goneril has imposed a
counterfeit perception of herself to her father, leading to her inheritance of half the kingdom. Lear
believes that Goneril and Regan love him the most, making them see kind and gracious, while they are
actually evil and malicious. Goneril shares her inheritance of half the kingdom with her husband
Albany. But, the relationship between Goneril and Albany is weak, crumbling, distrustful, and full of
hate. Goneril and Albany often have different opinions, which leads to quarrels. Moreover, Goneril
seems to overpower Albany, having more authority and control over the servants and the kingdom.
Disinterested in Albany s love, Goneril pursues a younger and more attractive gentleman Edmund. In
a letter written to Edmund from Goneril, it says: Let our reciprocal vows be remembered. / You have
many opportunities to cut him off: if your / will want not, time and place will be fruitfully offered
(114), which is intercepted by Edgar and delivered wrongfully to Albany. Goneril wants Edmund to
kill her husband, so that they can be together. Goneril tells the truth to Edmund, and it backfires as
Albany finds out about her affair and

Environmental Benefit Of Using Solar Energy
WHAT ARE THE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF USING SOLAR ENERGY?
Environmental benefits if using solar energy include a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
According to Energy.Gov each kilowatt hour (kWh) of solar that is generated will substantially reduce
greenhouse gas emissions like CO2, as well as other dangerous pollutants such as sulfur oxides,
nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. (Department of Energy). By generating electricity from solar
energy, the overall amount of energy used produced from non renewable or sustainable sources is
reduced, reducing the release of chemicals harmful to the environment. Energy.Gov also states that
solar also reduces water consumption and withdrawal, protecting water resources from further
contamination (Department of Energy).
Utilizing solar energy helps reduce pollution, waste, and aids in the protection and conservation of
many natural resources.

Analysis Of The Book Little Red Cap By Angela Carter
Fairytales subvert, challenge or reaffirm archetypal values through didactic lenses. The presence of
universal themes allows for an examination of contextual shifts and by being malleable in nature, can
be made relevant to different audiences. The Brothers Grimm s Little Red Cap , Angela Carter s The
Company of Wolves and Tommy Wirkola s film, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters all promote their
hegemonic ideologies and as cultural artefacts extrapolate the contextual values of their time period.
Carl Jung s theory of the Collective Unconscious ensures that each of these fairytale adaptations can
retain their archetypal value and thus remain significant and relevant in contemporary circumstances.
The Brother Grimm s 19th Century Fairytale, Little Red Cap reflects the hegemonies of its context
through its cautionary justification. Grimm s work reflected the importance of German national
cohesion under French occupation and the view towards foreigners as destructive usurpers. Little Red
Cap was adapted for instructional purposes, specifically aimed at a children s audience. Initially in the
tale, the subversion of Perrault s depiction of the girl is evident exemplifying her as a sweet little girl
and the hyperbolic everybody loved her instantly on first sight demonstrates the engrained virtue of
her youth. The instruction for Little Red Cap to not stray from the path foreshadows the inherent
danger associated with a misguided venture. The symbolism of

Black Elk And The Struggle Of Faith
Black Elk and the Struggle of Faith
The story of Nicholas Black Elk was one that was reluctantly told, a Lakota medicine man, a visionary
of his own sort. Written by John G. Neihardt, Black Elk Speaks captures the essence of what the
Lakota culture based its teachings off of, as well as exhibiting who Black Elk really was. When
Neihardt began his dialogues with Black Elk he knew which questions to ask, his plan was clear from
the beginning. There were choices made by Neihardt that seem controversial, such as why he decided
to end his book at the Battle of Wounded Knee instead of continuing through Black Elk s life and his
conversion to Catholicism. The steps taken by Neihardt succeeded in portraying Black Elk s own
story, and the importance of his vision on his life. Black Elk himself can be looked upon as a character
within an all encompassing realm of change. From the time that he was a boy he had been instilled
with the fear of the Wasichu , as well as the virtues of the Lakota religion. A short way into the telling
of his story, Black Elk shares with Neihardt that at the age of 9, he had a vision. As rudimentary as it
sounds, this vision can be attributed with shaping Black Elk s whole life. Black Elk s recollection of
the vision is impeccable, not a detail goes unremembered. Without much evidence as to what caused
Black Elk to fall sick, the book describes swelling and what would be thought of today as
hallucinations. Black Elk only finds his vision because he is

Analysis Of Amy Tan s A Pair Of Tickets
All individuals have values, beliefs, and attitudes that develop throughout the course of life. Families,
friends, and the community in addition to experiences all have significant contributions to how people
view and sense the world. Ethnicity refers to the characteristics of a particular group of people
including skin, hair, and eye color. On the other hand, culture refers to shared patterns of behavior,
cognitive constructs, and interactions an individual in a particular society learns through socialization
at a particular time. It includes religion, language, social habits, arts, and music. Since culture and
ethnicity comprise of the most personal attributes of an individual, they affect one s decision making,
actions, and values.
Culture and ethnicity has a very profound effect in shaping the way individuals view the world. Many
studies have proven that individuals from different cultures will view and perceive things differently,
probably because of how their individual cultures shaped their view of the world. Amy Tan s A Pair of
Tickets provides a brief narrative concerning the reminiscence and conscience of Jing mei, a Chinese
American woman on a trip to meet her half sisters for the first time. The young woman is fully
Americanized while the mother is a Chinese immigrant, trying to communicate Chinese stories to her

Characteristics Of The Human Auditory System
The human auditory system is one of the most complex and remarkable systems of the human body.
Without all components working in a harmonious manner, a person can easily become alienated from
society. There are four key areas that one needs to understand in order to comprehend how an
individual is able to hear. They include the outer, middle, and inner ear as well as the central auditory
nervous system. The collaboration of all of these components allow humans to hear sound. One of the
most important concepts to understand, before delving into the anatomy of the human ear, is what
exactly individuals are receiving as the signal that is commonly referred to as sound. Although there
are many definitions for sound, it can be easily understood as a disturbance in an elastic medium that
propagates through the medium in a longitudinal motion (Darrow 2017). This disturbance occurs in
the form of vibrations. The three characteristics of a sound include intensity, frequency, and duration,
which all play an integral part in how an individual interprets a sound. The first area that a sound
arrives at in its journey to be perceived is the outer ear. At this point, sound is being transmitted in
terms of acoustic energy. The outer ear consists of two major parts, the pinna and the ear canal. The
pinna serves as a funnel, where several of its cavities act as sound enhancing mechanisms. The ear
canal acts as a quarter length resonator. What this means is that it enhances

Steve: Nonetheless, the New Testament in the Bible is the direct tradition from the Apostles because
all they learned from Jesus is recorded in their Gospels and books. As well as their direct sight of the
Resurrection of Jesus, this is the center belief of the Catholic Faith that is also stated.
Charles: Even though, much of what you said is true because many men were inspired by God and
wrote down some of their thoughts that makes up Scripture. A good example is in John s Gospel, who
is one of the Twelve Apostles stated, But there are also many other things that Jesus did; if every one
of them were written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be

acknowledging that all they wrote came from His inspiration and not His command for the apostles to
write it down. Therefore, showing that would have been impossible to write everything in the Bible.

The Origin Of The Egyptian Religion
Horus is one of the oldest and most meaningful deities in agent Egyptian religion. He was worshiped
through the late predynastic period and through the Greco Roman times. From as far back as we know
the Egyptians believed that Osiris was of divine origin, that he suffered death and mutilation at the
hands of evil, and after a great struggle with these powers he rose again, that he then became the king
of the underworld and judge of the dead, and because he had conquered death the honorable also
might conquer death (Horus of Edfu). There is so much that we have learned about Horus, from who
he was before he was a God, to who he symbolizes, and the different ways of representation. Horus s
mother was the Goddess Isis and his father was Osiris. Isis fled from Set to give birth to Horus safely,
knowing Set would want to kill Horus as he already killed Osiris. Horus then became Set s enemy,
eventually defeating Set, thus avenging his father and assuming the rule. Horus emerged as a local god
in many places and with different names. Some of the names were Harmakhis Horus in the Horizon ,
Harpocrates Horus the Child and, Harsiesis Horus, Son of Isis (Horus, Encyclopedia). Horus became
the universal name for many different gods associated with falcons. From the 1st dynasty onward,
Horus and the god Set were presented as perpetual antagonists who were reconciled in the harmony of
Upper and Lower Egypt. Featured as a royal man with the head of a falcon or hawk, Horus often holds

The Incredibles, released by Pixar in 2004, starts off with a flashback that dates the film in an alternate

protagonist, Mr. Incredible, uses his power of super strength to defend the city from crimes and is
much admired by the public. One of Mr. Incredible biggest admirer is a kid, Buddy Pine. Although
Buddy is an ordinary human, he creates gadgets that mimic superpowers. Due to Mr. Incredible s

December 11, 2014 Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived Neural Crest Stem Cells and the
maintenance of Neural crest stem cell multipotency
Stem cells are unspecialized cells, which have the potential to develop into several different cell types
muscle cells, brain cells, skin cells, or red blood cells during early development. Stem cells
continuously divide in order to replace other cells. As stem cells divide, they have the potential to
develop into a specialized cell or remain a stem cell. Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) play an
essential role in tissue regeneration, and can circumvent immune system concerns. There are a variety
of stem cells, including embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells.
However, the main focus of this paper will be the usage of induced pluripotent stem cells.
Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived Neural Crest Stem Cells Induced pluripotent stem cells are
adult cells that are genetically altered in order to match embryonic stem cells. In order to achieve this
embryonic stem cell like nature, induced pluripotent stem cells are impelled to express genes and
factors required to maintain the properties of embryonic stem cells. The main iPSC discussed in this
paper will be derived neural crest stem cells (NCSCs). Derived neural crest stem cells are present in

The Psychology Of School Violence Essay
Today I m going to be talking about school violence and how different psychologist have different
viewpoints in the same situations. I m going to be talking about Behaviorism, Cognitive and lastly
Humanistic and existential psychologist. So a Behaviorism psychologist believes that people learn the
behavior habits over time from things such as videogames, violence and TV. So for instances some of
the kids that did the shooting probably was exposed to some type of violence at an early age.
Cognitive psychologist more on the metal side of the process unlike the Behaviorism psychologist.
Cognitive approach means that the type of environment a person is exposed to also plays a big role on
how they act later in life. Lastly we will talk about the Humanistic Psychologist which I think is my
favorite one and his approach on the situation. Most stable people choose to do whatever it is knowing
the consequences. They believe people have the free will and the understanding to make their choices.
From a Behaviorism psychologist view the kids who did the shooting in Newton Connecticut was
probably exposed to some type of violence. Behaviorism believes that behavior is learned through
previous learning experiences or interactions with the social environment. They also believe that the
mental process is too hard to observe and measure. So let s say the kid showed some type of signs of
having issues with his mother before he killed all of those people. His mother or other family

The Marketing Strategy Of Whirlpool Corporation
In the United States, the cooking industry is a mature market with high penetration, therefore,
replacement product is significantly important to the industry. The United States has three major
manufacturers for domestic production; Whirlpool, General Electric, and Electrolux. The appliance
industry is changing and become more competitive with the influence of Asian competitors,
specifically, LG and Samsung is importing appliances into the United States. Subsequently, in January
2016, a Chinese manufacturer, Haier, bid for the purchase of General Electric Appliances, finalizing
the contract, Monday, June 6, 2016 (Thompson, 2016).
Whirlpool Corporation is the largest global manufacturer of home appliances (Innovation at the Pace
of Life, 2016). Although, Whirlpool is globally the largest manufacturer, they do not dominate all
markets, as they do in North America. In North America, Whirlpool s strength lies in a strong and vast
brand portfolio, consisting of seven brands (Fettig, 2016). In 2006, the United States Department of
Justice approved the acquisition of Maytag Corporation by Whirlpool (Henriques, 2006). The
acquisition served a two fold purpose, seating Whirlpool in the number one market share position in
North America and adding strong brands such as Maytag, Jenn Air, and Amana to the portfolio. A
series of acquisitions is accelerating growth for Whirlpool and ensuring global market leadership.

Collectivism, like individualism, has two extremes ranging from willing cooperation at one end to a
grudging acceptance at the other (Farnham D, 1993, p36 7) It is important to understand that no
company is strictly individualist or collectivist and the links between the two employee relations are
not incompatible with each other. Overall, BA has the collectivist approach because large emphasis is
on the group. One such example is the nurturing of cabin crew. Families of staff are created to work
the same shift patterns. This was pursued to encourage mutual support, make cabin crew feel
comfortable about their working environment, and as a result, facilitate the production of emotional
labour (I Grugulis and A Wilkinson, 2001, p13).

As for a particular type of Management style in practice, this is difficult to say, as there is overlap
between the two main categories; unitary and the pluralist. BA has some of the characteristics of the

emphasis is placed on employee training, which BA takes very seriously in order to create

Racism And Mccarthyism In Orson Welles s Touch Of Evil
Orson Welles 1958 film, Touch of Evil, focuses in on some societal issues that were present during the
time period of the mid to late 1950s, and uses its narrative and distinct visual style to get the point
across. Some of these themes featured in the film include racism, McCarthyism, drug usage in border
towns, and legal hierarchies. This is done particularly with its use of borders as a metaphor for all the
activity going on in the film. The film begins with a long, tracking shot after a bomb is placed inside a
car. We follow the car and see a couple walking down the street together. Because of this choice of
shot, we are offered two vital introductions in one: We are introduced to both the inciting incident, as
well as two of the main characters. As soon as the two main characters, Susie and Mike Vargas, make
their way to the Mexican border, we are introduced to one of the many themes that will be prevalent in
the film, and that is racism. Although the border patrolmen do not seem at all phased by the sight of an
interracial couple, the cue that guides the audience to notice the undertones of racial prejudice, come
in the mise en scene. Immediately after Mike kisses his wife, the bomb goes off just several feet away
from them, using the inciting incident also as a tool to say that the general public will not agree with a
white woman being married to a Latino man. Now it is possible that I may be getting ahead of myself
when talking about racism in the film. While it

The ombudsman is supposed to protect detainees who are part of the immigration system; to make

Xebec Research Paper
This is a model of an 18th century Arabian chebec. Chebecs were originally Arab constructions that
were famous for their speed and maneuverability. They were primarily fast, light sailing warships, but
in calms could also be rowed by means of oars through smaller ports in the bulwarks between each
two adjacent guns. They are thought to have originated in Algeria, and were used by corsairs of the
Maghreb from the beginning of the 17th century. The chebec s proved very useful as fast raiders,
dispatch boats and merchant ships. The Barbary States of that time were to a large extent autonomous
outposts of the Ottoman Empire and attacked the ships of the merchant fleets of those nations, which
unlike England and France did not have strong navies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Xebecs were similar to galleys used by Algerian corsairs and Barbary pirates having both lateen sails
and oars for propulsion. Early xebecs had two masts; later ones three. Xebecs featured a distinctive
hull with pronounced overhanging bow and rarely displaced more than 200 tons, making them slightly
smaller and with slightly fewer guns than frigates of the period. The Chebec was a typical ship with
roots in North African countries. It was the typical format for ships frequenting the ports of Algiers,
Tunis and Tripoli. The Chebec was armed with 24 cannons. This particular ship model is based on the
French Chebec design of the ship Le Requinto . The French and Spanish both copied the North
African ship design for its speed. Le Requinto was one of eight chebecs built in France between 1750
and 1762. Le Requinto was built by Joseph Caubet, a native of Majorca, and the build lasted eight
months. The amazing aerodynamic profile of this ship speaks for its speed capabilities. Chebecs were
used in the Mediterranean by French corsairs mainly for quick interception and getaway. This is a
fantastic plank on frame ship model of the chebec based on the original plans with all its ornaments
being hand carved pieces which took hours to

For this action he was stripped of his command over the 2nd Armored Division in Africa. Patton could
not stand to have a soldier that was anything less than what he thought a true soldier should represent.
Patton believes that courage and fear are phenomena which can be governed by training and
discipline, and that fear is lost through intense training and patriotism. Patton did not hate his men, but
he didn t want to see his soldiers hospitalized as injured men with battle fatigue or neurosis, but as a
spectacle of American bravery. Visiting his troops in the hospital got him emotional and he state once
that, They re the best damned soldiers the world has ever seen. One day I bawl the hell out of them

Nick, as she held [his] hand impersonally (44), compared to the other women like Daisy, who are
passive. She also is involved in golf, which is not the typical woman during the 1920s. She earns her
money through this talent oppose to Daisy, who relies on her husband for money, which shows her
strong figure as she is independent. Similar to Lauren Conrad from the reality show, The Hills, who is
independent and works for her own money, so it is Jordan, which sets her strong female figure in this
novel.
Daisy Buchanan plays the role of a materialistic female. She relies on her husband, Tom Buchanan s
wealth, as her voice is full of money (115). According to Tori DeAngelis research, when people are
insecure they become more materialistic as a way to adapt , which is shown through Daisy s character
as she masks her unhappiness through materialism as a result of her husband s infidelity. As a result of
being with Tom for materialistic interest, she suffers the consequences as she is constantly ordered by
him, for example, sit down Daisy

Importance of Developing Global Citizenship
I am going to explain the importance of developing global citizenship The importance of global
citizenship is to promote fairness and equality in an injustice world. It helps people to tolerate and deal
with a cruel society. Global citizenship helps us to realize each of us has a responsibility to make the
world a better place. The world we live in is always changing and global citizenship gives people
flexibility and helps them to adapt. I am going to also address being a global citizen in an advanced
technology world be beneficial. Explain the different definition of global citizenship given by the
theorists and give my own definition. Provide two of the six global outcomes.

Global citizenship outcome social justice helps to promote equality. This outcome means help people
other friends and family. Helping others out in the community and around the world.
Personal Examples Of Global Outcomes
Responsibility Act
I take full responsibility for my own actions. I do things based on my own moral and values. If
someone is in the store and do not have enough money I give them the rest of the money. I am not
looking for anything in return. To me, this is nothing more than lending a helping hand. If I was in that
situation I would want someone to do it for me.
Social Justice As a global citizen, I like helping others in the form of donations or even volunteering.
When people are having fundraisers if I have the funds I just give them some money. I do not have to
render the services. I just make donations. I also do what I can to help others in need. I treat everyone
I come across with respect and love. I enjoy putting people in a positive environment. It brings
enjoyment to their live as well as mine. If someone calls me and needs a favor I never hesitate if I can
do it.

Speech On Money Saver
An ultimate money saver is a vacation in your own back yard. Set a few guidelines for what your
family may and may not, during the vacation, these could include the following: Turn off the phones,
the computers and the TV and ban cooking, cleaning, laundry, work and stress.
The whole family should set these priorities together and spend time planning for fun instead, e.g. find
plenty of ideas in the following chapters Entertainment on page 81 and Leisure Activities on page 82.
Transportation Communication
Transportation
Transportation may be a considerable expense depending on where you live, need to travel and your
options, since most of us have a car, let us study saving alternatives in this area.
Lowering gas consumption may start ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Communication
Previously, the cost of phone, internet, etc. could be quite expensive, nowadays you just need to keep
an eye on the bill and occasionally check for new and improved deals. If you communicate with other
countries, using email, Skype, Facebook, etc. will be close to free of cost, perfect if you are studying
or working abroad. Also, consider a local SIM card.
One mistake is buying more internet capacity as well as telephone services than needed, e.g. you need
to compare actual consumption with the subscription, to avoid paying too much.
The same goes for phones and computers, i.e. you can easily buy a phone or a PC that is much faster
and has much more storage capacity than you need. Whenever renewing these items, check that you
only buy what is needed, e.g. PCs and smart phones allow you to check which resources they utilize.
Some feel the need for the newest and smartest gadget, phone, computer, etc. this is an expensive
habit, so, wear out your gadgets before buying new. Remember that yesterday s hottest phone or
computer can be bought for a fraction of the original cost today, even as new, however, the savings
will be considerably higher if buying

The World Of Writing Guide
The World of Writing Guide Opposition
Most of us going through undergraduate school have a textbook to look over and read based off of the
material it offers to teach. The textbook The World of Writing: a Guide has many problems itself to
even offer a research paper as the one assigned: to compare two of the authors in the text, and find
other articles the author may have written on the same topic . Firstly, the authors in The World of
Writing: A Guide, all have different topics that they all tackle in their own way and many of the
authors in the textbook wouldn t necessarily be considered authors; Secondly,we ve wrote other essays
on almost the similar topic; Lastly, not being able to use all of our resources for research doesn t
provide real world skill.
In the curriculum we ve read six pieces of writing with six different authors. Changing Names in a
Changing World, by David Mould(8), Speech on Release from Prison, by Nelson Mandela(28), When
the Media is the Disaster, by Rebecca Soinit (288), Loving Hip Hop in Morocco, by Nikki Reyna
(128), Miles to Go: Why Automakers Don t Sell a Car that gets 50 mpg, by Keith Naughton (221), and
finally, Language Discrimination: A Common Theme in Education and the Work Place, by Priscilla
Duran (331).All of which have a common theme in mind: Multiculturalism, each piece of writing has
something to say about a different culture in their own theme. For example, Miles to Go: Why
Automakers Don t Sell a Car that gets 50 mpg, by Keith

Essay on Hunting in Morally Acceptable
When a wealthy American dentist killed a prized African lion he unintentionally reignited the debate
concerning the morality of hunting. In this essay, I am going to provide an argument for the morality
of hunting. Hunting, when performed with correct moral intentions and in compliance with
regulations, is a morally acceptable act. I will first provide background definitions used in my essay
followed by a formal layout of my argument. Next, I will discuss each premise of my argument
separately and explain how they prove my argument plausible. Lastly, I will consider an objection to
my argument and respond to it accordingly. I must first provide two background definitions regarding
my essay to ensure a common viewpoint between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, hunting, when performed with correct moral intentions and in compliance with regulations,
is a morally acceptable act. My first premise states that an action is permissible if and only if, of those
actions that satisfy certain specified constraints, it has consequences that are sufficiently morally good.
This widely accepted consequentialist viewpoint comes from the philosopher Peter Vallentyne. It is
known as Constrained Act Consequentialism. If an action brings about the best consequences, it is a
moral action. However, sometimes this action can interfere with the rights of other beings. My first
premise is rational because it seeks out the greater moral good without having to worry about
immolating certain rights of others (LaFollette). This is accomplished by stating that the hunting I am
describing must satisfy certain constraints, which, in this case, are game laws. The current laws on this
form hunting include what can and cannot be hunted, how many animals can be hunted, and how they
should be hunted to ensure a quick and less painful death for the animal.
The next premise of my argument alleges that feeding a family and providing a family with clothes,
bedding, or other items for use are both morally good acts because they provide the best overall
consequences. The rationale behind this premise is simple. I do not believe many people would
disagree on the fact that feeding one s family and

  • 2. The Culture Of American College Cultures vary tremendously throughout the world and within many of these cultures are sub cultures that do not necessarily operate under the same standards for example, the culture of American college students. Subcultures, according to Clark and Trow, represent clusters of attitudes, norms, and models of behaviors rather than groups of people (Warren, 1968). It is hard for someone to not have any ethnocentric bias to a culture they have not yet been part of or witnessed first hand. Transitioning from the subculture I have grown up in my entire life, to the American college culture was a huge change. Before attending college I did not have a strong ethnocentric bias to the college culture because I had already known people who had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prior to attending WSU, I did not give much merit to the information that I received about what college would be like unless I was being told by someone who had reliable first hand experience and especially so if they do or had attended WSU themselves. I would always hear people saying that WSU is a party school, and I think that is due to the fact that WSU has a lower GPA requirements than some schools and people assume it is full of the people who were not accepted into UW. Although that is the case for many students here, I know a great deal of students who attend WSU and were also accepted by UW and other schools as well. The state of Washington has its own subculture of the United States, and within the state of Washington there are many different subcultures, both big and small (Lieske, 1993). Once you go from eastern Washington to western Washington there is a massive change in the subculture of the people. The culture of western Washington is more liberal than in eastern Washington where people on average are more conservative (Lieske, 1993). As well as political views and other factors, there is a huge separation between supporters of UW and WSU. Living on the western side of Washington I did not know that the WSU culture and pride was so strong out here. I had thought that everyone prefers UW because it is considered a better school and located in Seattle, but one I arrived out here I was shocked by the pride that Cougs have. I had no ... In addition to incredible individuals who attended the Laboratory, there have been many crucial discoveries at the Cavendish Laboratory, including DNA, the electron, and the proton. Maurice Wilkins was a chemist who determined that using x ray crystallography would be useful in the process of studying DNA. James Watson attended a lecture by Wilkins on the subject, which also included ideas about the form of DNA, and Watson soon wanted to be involved. Francis Crick, who was working on his dissertation on the x ray crystallography of hemoglobin, was approached by Watson, who desired Crick s help in studying DNA. Watson and Crick made several models of DNA based on the information available at the time. However, it was not until they obtained x rays taken by Rosalind Franklin that they realised DNA had a double helix shape. These x rays were obtained without Franklin s permission and were crucial to the discovery of the shape of DNA. Watson and Crick s first article on their discoveries regarding the double helix shape appeared in an issue of the journal Nature, along with other articles on DNA by other scientists. • 4. Serial Killers Of Jack The Ripper Jack The Ripper was a serial killer in East End London, in the late 1888 s. No one knows who it is to this day. There are several theories to who it could be, most are males but there is still a little doubt that could have been a woman, maybe both? The only thing that is known for sure these women were victims of him or her. Jack The Ripper was known for the way he murder, he left cuts on both sides of the neck and made the knees or legs of the women up towards her chest or in the air; in some cases he would destroy the body so bad that it was hard to identify who the victim was. One of the only reasons police knew who the victims were in because Jack would write notes to the police office or the newspaper company telling them who was killing next but not when. Jack The Ripper was a man of pattern and rountie. His killings were all almost alike and his victims had profiles that matched each other s. Jack had five victims, who were all women; the women had a couple things in common, all but one of the women were in their 40s, they were all drinkers, and most of the five women were known to be in the business of prostitution. All five victims were found dead in poorly lit alley ways or stairways, with their necks cut on either side and other lacerations throughout the body. According to Josh Clark, this is what happened to the five victims of Jack The Ripper. Mary Nichols was the first victim, found on August 31, 1888 at 3:45am. Mary was 44 years old who liked her drinks. She was found in a narrow side street of Buck s Row in the Whitechapel; she had an eight inch laceration to her throat that cut both of her major arteries and she had violent cuts on her abdomen. Annie Chapman was the second victim, she was found on September 8, 1888 at 5:45am. Annie was a 47 year old widow who was a heavy drinker and survived through prostitution. Annie was found outside an apartment at 29 Hanbury Street with a man of shabby genteel , a few minutes after her being spotted with the man, a muffled scream of No! followed by a loud thump on the fence. Her body was found in the backyard of the apartment, with her feet pushed up toward her body, knees in the air and spread apart. Her throat was cut deeply from left to right, ... • 5. The Expansion Of Electric And Hybrid Vehicles Supposedly implicit in the term leading edge technology is the expansion of electric and hybrid vehicles in the GM line. Indeed, in order to meet its commitment to help achieve 500,000 electric or hybrid vehicles on the U.S. road by 2017 and to help reduce the average carbon emissions of U.S. cars by 15% by 2016, GM must continue to invest in green vehicles. However, multiple challenges currently stand in the way of GM s previously defined goal to become an electric car provider. In fact, this paper suspects these challenges prompted GM to omit mention of electric cars in its 2014 strategic plan, and insofar as the failure to specifically mention electric cars signifies a wavering in the company s commitment to green technology, GM has opened itself up to significant criticism in the formulation of its 2015 strategy. Given the current price of Brent Crude at $49.31 per barrel, down more than $50 in less than two years, demand for fuel efficient cars has seen a precipitous decline. Through June 2015, the market share for hybrid electric cars and electric vehicles accounted for 2.8% of automobile market share, down from 3.6% through the same period in 2014. Correspondingly, GM s plug in hybrid Volt fell 35% in July. To make the outlook more dismal for electric cars, a global glut in oil and weakening world demand both point to sustained low prices for oil over the medium term. Despite these negative signs, GM must reaffirm its commitment to the design and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This pill can be used during the first three days after unprotected sexual intercourse to prevent the fertilization of an egg or the attachment of a fertilized egg to a woman s uterus. The question is not necessarily in the ethical issue of the pill itself. The problem or question lies in the issue of the pill being sold with or without a prescription. In Summary, the pill remedies the chance of ineffectiveness of methods of contraception like birth control and condoms without invasive surgery. The pill has the potential to reduce the number of surgical abortions and undesired pregnancies in the United States considerably, especially if it is provided over the counter. The pill is radically more effective the sooner one takes it after intercourse and the great advantage of making it available over the counter as opposed to by prescription only, is that it would give a larger number of women faster and more access to it. What this paper endeavours to illustrate is that government funding is sometimes necessary for the sustainable functioning of the economy and society from a holistic perspective. Firstly, let us define the term subsidy , and how this fits in an economic context. Oxford Dictionary defines subsidy as follows: a sum of money granted by the state or a public body to help an industry or business keep the price of a commodity or service low (OED Add. Ser. Vol. 3, 1997). Subsidising industry is anathema to the concept of free trade as the very foundation of free trade, as we know, is built on the cornerstone of laissez faire capitalism and a limited role for government inasmuch as the market is out of the sphere of ... This approach will provide for us a rounded view of how one symptom of a potential short fall in the market may lead to the development of more symptoms and impact the economy in a more noticeable way. If we loosely adopt the progression as depicted in the vicious cycle diagram on the left, and begin from the initial action of the closure of SPC, there is an immediate impact on the market by way of equity (i.e., Coca Cola Amatil s share holders are affected), companies relying on SPC will find it difficult to adapt to the new business conditions as they will now have to adjust for the loss of a significant client, strain will also be placed on competitors as they may need to facilitate for greater supply in order to satisfy the growing demand (thus placing unprecedented pressure on the business and potentially increasing their over heads and capital outlay). Furthermore, certain communities and townships may have flourished due to the inception or establishment of an industry or business (in this context, the Shepparton, Victoria community where the canning facility is based) may now experience difficulty and major adjustments that will effectively impact other areas of operations in the market. It s almost impossible to quantify the level of impact on the market without an actuarial investigation, but if we can assume that the local currency is affected, this may greatly affect other businesses that rely on imports. The presence of universal themes allows for an examination of contextual shifts and by being malleable in nature, can be made relevant to different audiences. The Brothers Grimm s Little Red Cap , Angela Carter s The Company of Wolves and Tommy Wirkola s film, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters all promote their hegemonic ideologies and as cultural artefacts extrapolate the contextual values of their time period. Carl Jung s theory of the Collective Unconscious ensures that each of these fairytale adaptations can retain their archetypal value and thus remain significant and relevant in contemporary circumstances. The Brother Grimm s 19th Century Fairytale, Little Red Cap reflects the hegemonies of its context through its cautionary justification. Grimm s work reflected the importance of German national cohesion under French occupation and the view towards foreigners as destructive usurpers. Little Red Cap was adapted for instructional purposes, specifically aimed at a children s audience. Initially in the tale, the subversion of Perrault s depiction of the girl is evident exemplifying her as a sweet little girl and the hyperbolic everybody loved her instantly on first sight demonstrates the engrained virtue of her youth. The instruction for Little Red Cap to not stray from the path foreshadows the inherent danger associated with a misguided venture. The symbolism of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Black Elk And The Struggle Of Faith Black Elk and the Struggle of Faith The story of Nicholas Black Elk was one that was reluctantly told, a Lakota medicine man, a visionary of his own sort. Written by John G. Neihardt, Black Elk Speaks captures the essence of what the Lakota culture based its teachings off of, as well as exhibiting who Black Elk really was. When Neihardt began his dialogues with Black Elk he knew which questions to ask, his plan was clear from the beginning. There were choices made by Neihardt that seem controversial, such as why he decided to end his book at the Battle of Wounded Knee instead of continuing through Black Elk s life and his conversion to Catholicism. The steps taken by Neihardt succeeded in portraying Black Elk s own story, and the importance of his vision on his life. Black Elk himself can be looked upon as a character within an all encompassing realm of change. From the time that he was a boy he had been instilled with the fear of the Wasichu , as well as the virtues of the Lakota religion. A short way into the telling of his story, Black Elk shares with Neihardt that at the age of 9, he had a vision. As rudimentary as it sounds, this vision can be attributed with shaping Black Elk s whole life. Black Elk s recollection of the vision is impeccable, not a detail goes unremembered. Without much evidence as to what caused Black Elk to fall sick, the book describes swelling and what would be thought of today as hallucinations. Black Elk only finds his vision because he is ... On the other hand, culture refers to shared patterns of behavior, cognitive constructs, and interactions an individual in a particular society learns through socialization at a particular time. • 19. Characteristics Of The Human Auditory System The human auditory system is one of the most complex and remarkable systems of the human body. Without all components working in a harmonious manner, a person can easily become alienated from society. There are four key areas that one needs to understand in order to comprehend how an individual is able to hear. They include the outer, middle, and inner ear as well as the central auditory nervous system. The collaboration of all of these components allow humans to hear sound. One of the most important concepts to understand, before delving into the anatomy of the human ear, is what exactly individuals are receiving as the signal that is commonly referred to as sound. Although there are many definitions for sound, it can be easily understood as a disturbance in an elastic medium that propagates through the medium in a longitudinal motion (Darrow 2017). This disturbance occurs in the form of vibrations. The three characteristics of a sound include intensity, frequency, and duration, which all play an integral part in how an individual interprets a sound. The first area that a sound arrives at in its journey to be perceived is the outer ear. At this point, sound is being transmitted in terms of acoustic energy. The outer ear consists of two major parts, the pinna and the ear canal. The pinna serves as a funnel, where several of its cavities act as sound enhancing mechanisms. The ear canal acts as a quarter length resonator. What this means is that it enhances ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If the intent of this observation is to shock and rattle the public s sensibilities, it s working. Of course, some of us may interpret such suggestions as merely dark, stoic, and cynical scare tactics quite in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was worshiped through the late predynastic period and through the Greco Roman times. From as far back as we know the Egyptians believed that Osiris was of divine origin, that he suffered death and mutilation at the hands of evil, and after a great struggle with these powers he rose again, that he then became the king of the underworld and judge of the dead, and because he had conquered death the honorable also might conquer death (Horus of Edfu). There is so much that we have learned about Horus, from who he was before he was a God, to who he symbolizes, and the different ways of representation. Horus s mother was the Goddess Isis and his father was Osiris. Isis fled from Set to give birth to Horus safely, knowing Set would want to kill Horus as he already killed Osiris. Horus then became Set s enemy, eventually defeating Set, thus avenging his father and assuming the rule. Horus emerged as a local god in many places and with different names. Some of the names were Harmakhis Horus in the Horizon , Harpocrates Horus the Child and, Harsiesis Horus, Son of Isis (Horus, Encyclopedia). So a Behaviorism psychologist believes that people learn the behavior habits over time from things such as videogames, violence and TV. So for instances some of the kids that did the shooting probably was exposed to some type of violence at an early age. Cognitive psychologist more on the metal side of the process unlike the Behaviorism psychologist. Cognitive approach means that the type of environment a person is exposed to also plays a big role on how they act later in life. Lastly we will talk about the Humanistic Psychologist which I think is my favorite one and his approach on the situation. Most stable people choose to do whatever it is knowing the consequences. They believe people have the free will and the understanding to make their choices. From a Behaviorism psychologist view the kids who did the shooting in Newton Connecticut was probably exposed to some type of violence. Behaviorism believes that behavior is learned through previous learning experiences or interactions with the social environment. They also believe that the mental process is too hard to observe and measure. So let s say the kid showed some type of signs of having issues with his mother before he killed all of those people. Racism And Mccarthyism In Orson Welles s Touch Of Evil Orson Welles 1958 film, Touch of Evil, focuses in on some societal issues that were present during the time period of the mid to late 1950s, and uses its narrative and distinct visual style to get the point across. Some of these themes featured in the film include racism, McCarthyism, drug usage in border towns, and legal hierarchies. This is done particularly with its use of borders as a metaphor for all the activity going on in the film. The film begins with a long, tracking shot after a bomb is placed inside a car. We follow the car and see a couple walking down the street together. Because of this choice of shot, we are offered two vital introductions in one: We are introduced to both the inciting incident, as well as two of the main characters. As soon as the two main characters, Susie and Mike Vargas, make their way to the Mexican border, we are introduced to one of the many themes that will be prevalent in the film, and that is racism. Although the border patrolmen do not seem at all phased by the sight of an interracial couple, the cue that guides the audience to notice the undertones of racial prejudice, come in the mise en scene. Immediately after Mike kisses his wife, the bomb goes off just several feet away from them, using the inciting incident also as a tool to say that the general public will not agree with a white woman being married to a Latino man. For this action he was stripped of his command over the 2nd Armored Division in Africa. Patton could not stand to have a soldier that was anything less than what he thought a true soldier should represent. Patton believes that courage and fear are phenomena which can be governed by training and discipline, and that fear is lost through intense training and patriotism. Patton did not hate his men, but he didn t want to see his soldiers hospitalized as injured men with battle fatigue or neurosis, but as a spectacle of American bravery. Visiting his troops in the hospital got him emotional and he state once that, They re the best damned soldiers the world has ever seen. One day I bawl the hell out of them and the next I weep over them. Patton was relieved of active duty until he was summoned by Eisenhower to lead the 3rd American army in the breakthrough Normandy. Eisenhower, more than anybody, knew the talents that Patton had in war; and with the 3rd American Army, Patton cut through the German lines all the way to Rennes, and then to Nantes, and then stopped at Metz for gas and munitions. After the push stopped, Patton was ordered to move from Saar and attack General Von Rundstedt which was deemed impossible by others but not Patton. If you communicate with other countries, using email, Skype, Facebook, etc. will be close to free of cost, perfect if you are studying or working abroad. Also, consider a local SIM card. One mistake is buying more internet capacity as well as telephone services than needed, e.g. you need to compare actual consumption with the subscription, to avoid paying too much. The same goes for phones and computers, i.e. you can easily buy a phone or a PC that is much faster and has much more storage capacity than you need. Whenever renewing these items, check that you only buy what is needed, e.g. PCs and smart phones allow you to check which resources they utilize. The World Of Writing Guide The World of Writing Guide Opposition Most of us going through undergraduate school have a textbook to look over and read based off of the material it offers to teach. The textbook The World of Writing: a Guide has many problems itself to even offer a research paper as the one assigned: to compare two of the authors in the text, and find other articles the author may have written on the same topic . Firstly, the authors in The World of Writing: A Guide, all have different topics that they all tackle in their own way and many of the authors in the textbook wouldn t necessarily be considered authors; Secondly,we ve wrote other essays on almost the similar topic; Lastly, not being able to use all of our resources for research doesn t provide real world skill. In this essay, I am going to provide an argument for the morality of hunting. Hunting, when performed with correct moral intentions and in compliance with regulations, is a morally acceptable act. I will first provide background definitions used in my essay followed by a formal layout of my argument. Next, I will discuss each premise of my argument separately and explain how they prove my argument plausible. Lastly, I will consider an objection to my argument and respond to it accordingly. I must first provide two background definitions regarding my essay to ensure a common viewpoint between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, hunting, when performed with correct moral intentions and in compliance with regulations, is a morally acceptable act. My first premise states that an action is permissible if and only if, of those actions that satisfy certain specified constraints, it has consequences that are sufficiently morally good. This widely accepted consequentialist viewpoint comes from the philosopher Peter Vallentyne. It is known as Constrained Act Consequentialism. If an action brings about the best consequences, it is a moral action. However, sometimes this action can interfere with the rights of other beings. My first premise is rational because it seeks out the greater moral good without having to worry about immolating certain rights of others (LaFollette). This is accomplished by stating that the hunting I am describing must satisfy certain constraints, which, in this case, are game laws. The current laws on this form hunting include what can and cannot be hunted, how many animals can be hunted, and how they should be hunted to ensure a quick and less painful death for the animal. The next premise of my argument alleges that feeding a family and providing a family with clothes, bedding, or other items for use are both morally good acts because they provide the best overall consequences. The rationale behind this premise is simple. I do not believe many people would disagree on the fact that feeding one s family and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
