Farmington High School hosted a series of three Family Engagement Nights as a way to distribute iPads to the more than 1800 students at the school on December 18, 19, and 20, 2012. FHS is now Minnesota's largest high school to move to a full 1:1 environment with iPads. The move is part of a district effort to put a device in the hands of all 6700 students to customize their learning experience.

2. The FHS Media Center was ready to assist students and families that
needed to establish an AppleID or view the introductory video.

3. Students and families navigated through a process that started with
selection of insurance protection for the iPad.

4. Then iPads were assigned and delivered to students. Barbara Theirl from the
BMS Media Center assisted with that task in one of the distribution centers.

5. High School students will receive an iPad 2 with 16GB storage.
It will be placed in a Griffin Survivor Case for protection and families
will have options for insurance coverage.

6. Then it was time to configure the iPad. FHS teacher Julian Buss is on standby to
help students with that task.

7. Students learned how to arrange the iPad to back-up data on their device to
the Apple Cloud. Jerry Cooper from the District Technical Services area assists.

8. Tracy Benson from the District Technical Services area steps in to help students
set up apps on their devices

9. Digital Learning Specialist Brianna Buck assists a student and parent
with their device. She coordinated the logistics and organized the
teams of staff and student volunteers for the event.

10. High School students volunteered to help with the final step, putting
the iPads in the Griffin Survivor case and cover.
