Thesis Statement: Like most heroes, Ged has a challenging childhood that teaches him the value of
true friendship and that it's something that should be cherished and not taken for granted. The
people Ged meets on his journey help shape him into the hero he is meant to be. Without Vetch and
Ogion, Ged's potential as a wizard and a person could have made him a villain instead of the hero.
Support 1: "Yet a greater, unlearned skill he possessed, which was the art of kindness. That night,
and always from then on, he offered and gave Ged friendship, a sure and open friendship which Ged
could not help but return." (Le Guin 48).
Analysis: Ged comes to this strange island of Roke where he encounters people from all over
Earthsea. Since childhood, Ged has not had the easiest time making friends for his pride and
ambition have ostracized him from the rest. That fact is emphasized when he meets Vetch, who
shows him kindness and trust. Ged learns from Vetch that not everyone is greedy and power hungry

Analysis: In a state of weakness and vulnerability, Ged seeks who he trusts and loves. After

and taught him that he was responsible for his power and how he used it. Ged feels safe with

GED Program Analysis
The exit process of the program would be completing and passing all 4 parts of the Official GED
Test. Students normally and are suggested by their teacher to only take 1–2 parts of the tests at a
time. They also suggest putting a day or two in between taking other parts of the tests while still
attending class. When you finally pass all four parts of the Official GED test, Wiregrass has
commencement ceremonies for their graduates. They understand how important getting a GED is
and how much work is put into getting a GED and believe that it is something that should be

EAGLE stand for Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education. Being an EAGLE helps

Student Category is for students who are still in preparation for the GED and are classified either
under ABE, ASE, or the English Literacy Program. The other category is for students who have
passed all four sections of the Official GED Test. The EAGLE coordinator can nominate a student
for these prestige awards as long as they have completed a minimum of 40 hours in either an
online or physical and fit in one of the two different categories. The teacher I interviewed is the
EAGLE coordinator for Wiregrass. He picks two exceptional students each year to represent
Wiregrass. He takes these students to Atlanta where the competition is held to compete against
others throughout Georgia. These students are chosen based on their professionalism and work

After I moved to the U.S. two years ago, my family and I have been through the hard situation of

Graduation Speech : Taking A Ged Test Essay
There was only a few of us that day, we all needed to take the GED test. We all seemed nervous.
The nice lady who signed me in stood up front, she explained all the rules; no talking, no cheating,
no getting up without your hand raised and acknowledged, and there are no bathroom breaks until
you have finished each test. Before I took my seat I grabbed ear plugs took a last drink of my water
and headed toward a seat up front. A little discouraged and nervous.
Starting on only one test, then another. It was then time for me to take the last portion of the test.
Normally, craving to write I really felt this was it, surely I was going to pass. Getting started, I
began reading The rules: 60 timed minutes, 600 words or more, pick two Historical figures, Don't
forget to do your draft, revised draft and final. That's when it hit me, wouldn't I be writing about
something I enjoyed? But, I was writing about something someone told me to write. Starting to tap
and move my feet I couldn't help it, overwhelmed and Tired. To add in more I scrolled down to
find not only do I have to write, but having to read the excerpts of those characters and compare and
contrast them. Now, with not finishing high school. Honestly, I had no clue what compare and
contrast had meant. Or really how was I supposed to write this essay.
The classroom was cold. My chair was squeaky and my ear plugs kept coming out. Breathing in and

Dropping Out Of High School And Getting GED
Dropping out of high school and getting my GED is one of my only true regrets in life. Although I
wish I had finished, I'm thankful my grandmother pushed me to get my GED and not to just give up

Ged Demon

Ged was a young man who lived in a small farming village inside of a mystical world. His aunt
was a witch, she taught him the ways of magic. He was a very quick learner, so he went to a
wizarding school called Roke. There, he met Vetch (his best friend), and Jasper (his rival). In one

One instance is the Island of Low Torning, he had met a friend, but left as not to lead the shadow
to him (p. 111). Another is in Osskil, he believed it to be the one other safe place for him, but he
was still anxious. He was right however, the shadow followed him to Osskil and he had to run
again (p. 153). Feeling safe nowhere would put someone in a state of paranoia, being sceptic
towards everyone they meet. This made Ged not good at meeting people, almost always ignoring
or avoiding them. Hunting the shadow effects Ged by giving him hope in beating the it. He
finally feels he has a chance against it. This is shown first when he chases it around Earthsea, and
becoming friends with Yarrow, who ends up being Vetch's sister (p. 189) This is shown again
when he chases it all the way to the edge of the world, and finally merging with it (p. 214) All of
his wounds from before have been healed, he was a new man. Ged had beaten his enemy, no
longer afraid, frightened. He could walk the Earth a free man. The shadow effects Ged throughout
the story by changing his personality, and making him a whole different person. Some things in a
person's life will challenge, change, and wound them, but it is always possible to come out stronger

Challenges In Ged's A Wizard Of Earthsea
A Wizard of Earthsea In the novel, A Wizard of Earthsea, Ged encountered many difficult
situations that challenged him not only physically, but mentally. These situations troubled him,
as well as the people around him including his friends, enemies, and acquaintances. As he aged
throughout the book, his level of maturity increased and he began to handle his challenges with

I Want To Get A GED Degree In High School
Getting a GED diploma is very difficult at my age. I am 40 years old and the years without any
other responsability other than being a good student and helping around the house are gone.
I graduated high school in 1989 back in the Dominican Republic then moved to USA two years later

Something Missing
A good sentence is a complete thought with a subject and a verb. When one or the other is missing,
then it interferes with the reader's ability to grasp what you are saying. We call this a fragment, and
we must add extra words or combine with another portion of a sentence to complete it. Look at these

The Importance Of GED In Schools
Too often GED programs are seen as inferior, phony education, and/or unsuccessful. I have to admit
that I also shared some of those thoughts when I first started my field experience this semester,
however I soon realized that I couldn't be more wrong. Many students "are embarrassed because they
didn't graduate from high school but received General Educational Development diplomas instead."
(Steinburg 1991). Getting your GED doesn't make you any less of an intellectual person nor is it
"the easy way out", for some it is the only way, a last hope if you will. There is this common phrase

The teacher used various grouping techniques such as untracking, regrouping, and cross–age
grouping. These techniques benefited the students in various ways because they would not only
learn from the teacher but they would also learn from each other. When they were doing an
assignments and were grouped in different ways it made it easier on the teacher because instead
of always asking the teacher for assistance they would use each other as resources when they
didn't know the answer. Motivation was also a key topic covered in chapter 10 of the book and in
there it gave various examples of different types of motivation. Like with many other GED programs
"desire was the key factor for success."(Shaw, Tham, Hogle, and Koch 2015). These students had a
sincere motivation to finish their education and move on to a post–secondary education in order to
acquire a better living situation. Baycich explains some reasons for motivation when stating, "The
reasons they decided to pursue postsecondary education...was encouragement from families...being

Julius Caesar Ged Abuse Of Power
Ged was able to abstain from abusing his power through pride and hostility when he learned that
the ethical value of wizardry exceeded the pleasure of its physical benefits. It was imperative for
Ged to acquire the ability to understand magic on a moral level in order to achieve success on his
quest. However, pride and ignorance influenced Ged's decisions and forced him to channel his

(25). Through this wisdom, Ged learned to humbly use magic only in times where it would serve
need, not pleasure. He applied this lesson throughout his quest, and was thus able to improve his
ethical understanding of wizardry. Ged demonstrated his understanding of this lesson when he was
able to communicate it to Yarrow, his best friend Vetch's, sister. By teaching her that, " 'To summon
a thing that is not there at all... is a great mastery... which exists beyond our needs' " (165),
highlighted Ged's developed mentality of the true power of magic. He displayed his development
when he understood that, "... no wizardry would serve him... but only his own flesh, his life, against
the unloving" (149), during his battle with the shadow beast. Even though Ged was aware that his

I feel as though my reflective essay about earning my GED was the paper with the most effective
revision. The first couple of drafts were great. My original thesis was strong and my paragraphs
were detailed and concise. However, my paper greatly improved when I started to make revisions. In

These techniques benefited the students in various ways because they would not only learn from the teacher but they would also learn from each other. When they were doing an assignments and were grouped in different ways it made it easier on the teacher because instead of always asking the teacher for assistance they would use each other as resources when they didn't know the answer. Motivation was also a key topic covered in chapter 10 of the book and in there it gave various examples of different types of motivation. My original thesis was strong and my paragraphs were detailed and concise. However, my paper greatly improved when I started to make revisions.
