3. MEC was a key partner of INNOVFEST UNBOUND and
held an innovation workshop with the theme “Bets on
the future.”
The discussion centred around how new technologies
are enabling deeper experiences, fueling creativity and
their impact on marketing effectiveness.
Venture capitalists, innovative marketing solution
providers and start-ups were invited to showcase and
pitch their solutions to our clients - with a focus on
virtual reality, augmented reality, content and data-led
products.
MEC also hosted a panel discussion “UGC:What’s the
next wave?“ in the media forum and was part of the
panel “The evolution of advertising“ on the mainstage.

5. Singapore has the vision to become a globalfinancial center
and to support this, has created a “regulatory sandbox” for
Fintech companies to test and grow theirideas without having
to apply for a licence or permit.
This will give innovations a better chance to takeroot by
reducing regulatory friction.
The country will also become a smart buyer of technology.It
has issued an open invitation to anyone who has an idea,a
product or service which makes lives betterfor citizens, to
come to Singapore and prove it, test it,prototype it and upscale
it. If thesolution works, thegovernment will buyit.

Transport) is a collaborativeproject
between SMART and theNational
University of Singapore (NUS), this
driverless car aims to
resolve the“first- and last-mile
problem”, which is especially
pertinent in view of Singapore’s
ageing society.
It also aims to help promote car-
sharing as thedriverless car is able
to resolve the‘rebalancing’ issue
(i.e. getting thecar to the
next car-sharing customer once the
