This is a brief description about the vissions and missions of INFLIBNET in teaching.

2. Information and Library Network Centre
(INFLIBNET) is an autonomous inter -
University centre of the UGC of India.
Initiated in March 1991 with its Head
Quarters at Gujarat University campus,
Ahmedabad.

3. Build and strengthen ICT infrastructure in
educational institutions.
Develop tools and techniques for enabling
users to access information in electronic
format from anywhere, anytime.
Develop resource selection guides and online
tutorials for effective delivery and usage of e-
resources.
Facilitate creation of open access digital
repositories in every educational institutions.

4. Achieve complete automation of libraries in
educational institutions.
Create union catalogue of documents available
in libraries in online and real-time environment.
Provide seamless and ubiquitous access to
scholarly, peer reviewed electronic resources to
the universities.
Promote digitization of legacy documents and
creation of content in e-format in universities.

5. The centre on behalf of the UG, has taken up a number of
new initiatives for the benefit of the academic
community. These initiatives include:
1) Shodhgana: a reservoir of Indian these and
dissertations.
2) Shodgangotri: a repository of approved
synopsis submitted to the universities for
registration under Ph.D programme.
3) OJAS@INFLIBNET: An open access journal
publishing platform.
4) Shibboleth based access management
system.

6) Infoport: a comprehensive gateway to all
Indian electronic scholarly content.
7) e-PG Pathshala: e-content for PG courses.
8) Measuring research output of Indian
universities.
