 responsible in promoting,
      improving, and
  maintaining the desired
health level of its students.
SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES are
    programs and activities
 designed to promote, protect,
  improve, and maintain the
   health and well-being of
        every student.
SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES
1. Health Appraisal
- A process of determining
    the current health status
    of the student for
    proper intervention.
1. Health Appraisal includes:
   a. Complete analysis of the
   student’s health history
   (past records, family health
   background and current
   status)
b. Health Screening
c. Behavior and
    Performance
    Observation
d. Physical Examination
HEALTH APPRAISAL includes:
1. Arms, hands, and
   fingernails
2. Eyes        5. Mouth and
3. Nose            Throat
4. Teeth       6. Ears
7. Neck and Chest
8. Hair
9. Feet and Legs
10. Skin
11. Height and Weight
SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES
1. Physical Screening
a.   Height-taking
b.   Weight-taking
c.   Vision-testing
d.   Hearing testing
Presentation and Control of
       Communicable Diseases
 Proper education about diseases is
   important for their prevention.
Students should learn the signs and
symptoms of any disease in order to
     prevent its onset and avoid
           complications.
Health and Nutrition Counseling,
   Follow-Through, and Referral
These are the activities designed to
    help you achieve and maintain
    your desired health level and
    must be administered by the
    Guidance Counselor.
If a student failed in the physical
      screening, a referral is made to:
1.    School Physician
2.    Rural Health Unit
3.    Provincial Health Hospital
4.    Private Health Practitioner
5. DSWD
6. Other Cooperating Agencies or
     Organizations
7. Safety and First Aide Emergency
     Care Centers
Safety and Emergency Care
This refers to the measures
     undertaken by the school
     authorities to prevent injury
     or even death.
