2. Circular economy
It’s a new way to design, make, and use things within planetary boundaries.
A circular economy is a systemic approach to economic development designed to
benefit businesses, society, and the environment. In contrast to the ‘take-make-
waste’ linear model, a circular economy is regenerative by design and aims to
gradually decouple growth from the consumption of finite resources.
3. .
Our economy is currently locked into a
system which favours the linear model of
production and consumption. However, this
lock-in is weakening under the pressure of
several powerful disruptive trends. We
must take advantage of this favourable
alignment of economic, technological, and
social factors in order to accelerate the
transition to a circular economy. Circularity
is making inroads into the linear economy
and has moved beyond the proof of
concept; the challenge we face now is to
mainstream the circular economy, and
bring it to scale.
4. ENVIRONMENTAL AND SYSTEM-WIDE
BENEFITS
What impact will shifting to a circular economy have on the environment?
The potential benefits of shifting to a circular economy extend beyond the
economy and into the natural environment. By designing out waste and
pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating, rather than
degrading, natural systems, the circular economy can be the mechanism by
which we achieve global climate targets.
6. THE VISION OF A NEW TEXTILES
ECONOMY Creating business models which are restorative and regenerative.
The overarching vision of a new textiles economy is that it aligns with the
principles of a circular economy: one that is restorative and regenerative by
design and provides benefits for business, society, and the environment. In
such a system, clothes, textiles, and fibres are kept at their highest value during
use and re-enter the economy after use, never ending up as waste. A new
textiles economy is an attractive vision of a system that works
Realising this vision of a new global textiles system relies on three focus areas:
New business models that increase clothing use
Safe and renewable inputs
Solutions so used clothes are turned into new
8. What is it?
Fortunale has the objective to create the
best natural sweater in the world.
These products are entirely made of pure
Italian natural wool, dyed with natural
pigments free of chemical additives and
produced in Italy by specialized artisans.
9. The wool
They respect and obtain pure organic wool, one of the best yarns in the world.
Animal-rearing is possible even in full compliance with their life conditions,
safeguarding their free grazing through genuine fields that have not been treated
neither with polluting nor with dangerous antiparasitic substances.
Sheep coming from organic rearings receive care and attentions every single day,
without being tortured or abused at all, and they give extremely high quality
pure wool. The only one selected and chosen to make a Fortunale garment.
10. The colours
Their dyeing processes recall natural ancient receipts, improved by in-depth
studies and exclusive textile technologies.
Knitwear coloured with more than 200 natural ingredients, such as flowers,
leaves, berries and roots, giving a Fortunale jumper unique colours and shades.
Nature blends with technology in this innovative dyeing process, far from any
chemical substances.
That’s why it was awarded in worldwide exclusive the prestigious Woolmark
Approved Natural Coloration Technology. The best way to take care of
nature and of our skin.
11. Made in Italy
Fortunale collections are drawn by an Italian fashion designer team and one of
them, Ivan Aloisio, is from our town, he had a factory which produced wool
clothes and then he moved to the north of Italy.
Wool products are developed in Italy by laboratories specialized in the
production of garments of excellence which can take advantage of the most
modern textile technologies and the skillful hands of the most expert tailors.
A Fortunale jumper is a genuine Made in Italy garment, meeting the last
fashion trends and comfort needs of the most demanding customers. Each
jumper is controlled and hand finished, before being ready for shipment. Quality
as mission.
12. Born to be worn, thought to be
reutilized
Fortunale is entirely eco-friendly, and it is inspired by modern principles of circular
economy. Materials transformed into objects often remains unutilized for the majority of its
life.
A Fortunale sweater is designed, from its origin, to be recycled at the end of its natural
use.Fortunale is a sweater of pure wool, and this precious characteristic allows to regenerate
its fibers into new prime materials. The total absence of synthetic fibers enables to recycle a
sweater up to 80%. The company will be glad to accept a return of your old Fortunale in
exchange for a 30% discount on a sweater of the new collection: a small incentive to
appreciate this philosophy.
Even the packaging is entirely reusable. Every sweater is shipped in a recycled cardboard
box designed to be reutilized as a perfect container. They want you to reuse it, so they
developed it with high-quality materials and an attractive design
13. For one sweater, one tree
Fortunale believes in nature, and has decided to invest part
of its profits in it. For each crowd-funded sweater they will
plant a tree.
In addition, for each piece they will create an exclusive
embroidery detail with a unique numeric code to have no
equal or match.
