2. What is a jellyfish?
• The first name for a jellyfish
was Medusa.
• In 1796, people started calling
them Jellyfish because they
look like they're made of jelly.
• Don't get confused! Jellyfish
aren't really fish. They are
plankton.
• People who study jellyfish
sometimes call them jellies.
Some jellies make their own light
the same way fireflies do.

• A group of jellies is called a
bloom or swarm.

Leatherback Sea turtles!

10. How do jellies move?
• Water currents push them.
• They squeeze their bodies to
force out water which
pushes them forward.
