This document describes a project to automate a stenter machine using a PLC and HMI for speed control. A VFD controls the speed of the master motor, which then synchronizes the speed of the slave motor. The system uses a Delta PLC and HMI for automatic control. Programming is done using WPL software for the PLC and screen editor for the HMI. Potential applications include plastic industry, product counting, drying machines, and more. The goal is to demonstrate speed synchronization between a master and slave motor for a stenter machine model.
3. ABSTRACT
In this project assembly of stenter machine is operated
automatically using PLC and HMI .The speed is
control by vfd.
Principle : speed synchronization
There is one master motor and no of slave motors are
synchronized throgh the command of master motor.
As we are preparing a demo model of the system which
operate stenter machine so only one slave motor is
used.
5. Benefits of PLC for stenter machine
1. Reduce human effort
2. Quick and easy operation
3. Easy to control
PLC implementation
PLC converts speed in rpm into analog count and
according to that speed synchronization is achieved.
9. We have connected two vfd for speed control, mcb for
protection, plc for automatic control, hmi for giving
input, RS-232 and RS-485 for communication.
We are providing three phase supply.

16. CONCLUSION…
From this project we can quickly synchronized master
and slave motor. It becomes very helpful in industry as
we can operate it remotely by PLC and HMI.
