BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF MECHANICS -SHIVAHARSH POTHULA
MECHANICS IS EVERYWHERE WHICH IS ANALYZED IN THE ABOVE FIGURE ALSO
MECHANICS IS UNDERSTOOD UNDER TWO CATOGERIES Bodies under rest (static bodies) Bodies under motion
Generally the body under rest is considered as static body By the Newton's first law body is said to be rest when the resultant force is zero The forces are analyzed in required plane depending on the type of forces are acting on it Static body mechanics
The body is considered as rigid body The forces are said to act at the sharp point on the body The deformation on the body due to force is neglected Assumptions :
If the forces are acting respective X,Y,Z axes the equilibrium equation of forces are ∑Fx=0 ∑Fy=0 ∑Fz=0 the turning effect about any axes is absorbed by the moment equations ∑Mx=0 ∑My=0 ∑Mz=0 Equations of equilibrium:
The static equation concept is very much useful for the analyze of structures This concept is lead to specialized subject for the civil, mechanical, aeronautical engineers The complex structures are analyzed by the virtual displacement method which mainly depend on these static equations Uses:
These also called as kinematics or kinetics If the subject is dealt with the force considered in the motion of body its called as kinetics of body If the subject is dealt without considering forces then its called as kinematics Mechanics of motion bodies
The kinematics of the body deals with motion of body with out observing the force acting on it It is the base for the kinetics of the body The equations mainly derived from the basic physics definitions eg., displacement ,velocity, acceleration etc kinematics
The equation of motion are analyzed as follows let v,u,s,a,t represent the finalvelocity, initial velocity, displacement, acceleration, time V=u+at s=ut+0.5at² v²-u²=2as
The above equations are basic equations depend on uniform motion If the motion is non uniform then the differential forms are used The calculus is very much used to understand the motion
THE MAJOR ERROR I HAVE OBSERVED IS ON BY USING THE DIFFERENTIAL FORMS. ITS BETTER TO ANALYZE THE KINEMATICS OF THE MOTION IN TERMS OF GRAPHS. ITS ADVISABLE TO USE VELOCITY-TIME,DISPLACEMENT –TIME,ACCELERATION-TIME GRAPH FOR FIDING THE SOLUTIONS Note
It deals with observing the body in motion of the body with respect to the force acting on it. The Newton's second law of motion is major source for the equations F=Ma F net force acting on the body M mass of the body a acceleration of the body Kinetics of the body
It also deals with the energy of the body The main concept is conservation of the energy i.e., the energy cannot be created or destroyed its converted from one form to other E=constant E net mechanical energy It also leads to other concept i.e., conservation of momentum depending on the friction losses and type of motion
There is wide range of practical analyzing of machines with the help of above concept The accurate results are made with the kinetics motion analyses Motion type is analyzed by the mechanics concept USES:
The body is running due to the friction force between the leg face and ground The red scrap is on to the body because of force due to the air and friction between the body and scarp The body raises its hands due to internal energy which is doing opposing work on gravity The body is running with the certain speed which also dealt under mechanics ANALYZING THE FIGURE SHOWN AT THE START
-Mechanics is all around us when we observe when observe the every situation of the world it all resembles mathematics, general physics , chemistry…………….. ---- thank you
