Reasons for resistance
Bureaucracy
Project managers will say it is a waste of time and takes them away from important
delivery work.
Ambiguity
Used at the start of the project when the project manager will state that it is too early to
adopt PMO processes and start reporting as everything is uncertain.
Spotlight
Project teams like to control message flow – the PMO will place them in the spotlight of
accountability and transparency.
No Authority
If no formal announcement of authority has been made by senior management,
therefore it will be difficult to get traction with the project teams.
