WPS60 is a unified (Pre-K to 12) school district
located in Waukegan, IL a community of 90,000
residents situated on Lake Michigan, just south of
the Wisconsin border.
WPS60 enrolls nearly 17,000 students and is
comprised of 15(ES), 5(MS), and 1(HS).
Student population predominately Hispanic, African
American, and Caucasian.
4. WHS AT A GLANCE
WHS is comprised of two campuses that enrolls 4000+
students, grades 9 – 12 with faculty, staff, and
administration of 400+.
WHS is organized into Smaller Learning Communities
(SLCs) designed to provide students and their families
with a more attentive and supportive teaching and
learning environment.
WHS has 10* Houses, with 400-600 students per
House grades 9-12. Each House is staffed with:
Principal (1), Assistant Principal (1), Guidance
Counselor (2), Social Worker(1), Secretary(1),
and Teachers (25-30)
*2 Houses are College Studies and require students to
apply for enrollment.

progress coordinated throughout school calendar

practice with incentives, such as Naviance Popcorn
