- According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery). The stone was set into a tower of the castle in 1446. The castle is a popular tourist site in Ireland, attracting visitors from all over the world to kiss the Stone and tour the castle and its gardens. The word blarney has come to mean clever, flattering, or coaxing talk (from wikipedia)
- The legend of the Loch Ness Monster began in 1933. The most famous photo taken of “Nessie” is located on the bottom right of the screen.
- Stonehenge was built over a period of more than 2,000 years—probably beginning about 3100BC. Workers carried the stones, weighing up to 50 tons, from an area that was about 20 miles north of the site. Stonehenge was probably used as a place of worship, or used as a calendar (the sun lines up within the stones on the winter and summer solstices).
