1 Information dissemination was
conducted to the PTA Presidents of
each section and also to the Brgy.
Captains of the feather Barangays to
inform them about the Meeting to be
held at the school. Meeting programs
were sent by the advisers to their PTA
Presidents through text, call, and
chats informing them about the
incoming meeting.
Preliminaries:
 The prayer was led by Ma’am
Vanylive L. Garcia.

 Opening Remarks- Ma’am
Liwayway N. Pascua, welcomed
the participants with a short
speech.
 The checking of Attendance of
the PTA President per barangay
through Sir Patricio A. Gaoat
Jr.
 Thoughts of the Day was led by
Sir Allan P. Ramirez, his speech
was moving, and the attendees
were drawn in by the
background music.
 Presentation of Agenda was
discussed by Ma’am Corazon S.
Omnes.

presidents from each section.

6  Launching of Two projects
(Literacy and Numeracy)
 Project SILAWAN
The faculty and staff of Villa
Concepcion High School- Baculod
Extension in partnership with the
Parent Teacher Association,
Barangay Officials, and other
stakeholders proposed a reading
project in support of Brigada Pagbasa
as an extension program of Brigada
Eskuwela and Project CAESAR-JC (
Calibrated, Advanced, and Enhanced
Support To Accelerate Reading
Journey Of Every Cauayeño) of SDO
Cauayan and City Government to
address gaps in reading.
Ma’am Lyra Mae M. Gacili,
Teacher III, a Grade 8 Rose Adviser,
and The School’s overall English
Reading Coordinator, is one of the
proponents of Project SILAWAN-
(Special Intervention Towards
 The PTA Presidents, Brgy.
Officials and all the Faculty and
Staff supported the project.

Literacy Awareness for Weak and
Non-Readers). Project SILAWAN is
inspired by the meaning of the word
SILAWAN itself, the word SILAWAN is
an Iloko term that means “to give
light” wherein the proponents aim to
give light and hope to the struggling
readers that they have their chance
to improve their reading levels and be
better in their academics.
Ma’am Lyra discussed the
importance of the said project. In her
discussion, this proposed project
aims to cater learners who will fall
under the frustration level and Non-
Readers based on the Pre-Reading
Assessment conducted by the
English Reading Coordinators per
year level at the start of school. The
project has the following objectives:
 Provide appropriate reading
activities for weak and non-
readers.

 Improve students’ reading
skills both in word recognition
and comprehension with the
assistance of their reading
guardians.
 Monitor learners’ reading
progress throughout the
school year.
Lastly, Ma’am Lyra also informed the
body of the role of the language
teachers being the facilitators; to
provide appropriate reading
materials to learners and assign
“Reading Guardians” from the
community for each learner and the
role of the Guardians is to adopt a
learner for the whole year to assist
them in their reading-at-home tasks
provided by the teachers.
 PROJECT AGRANIAG
The school and the community
came up with Project AGRANIAG
(Assisted and Guided Reading
Activities that Nurture Independence

to Address Gaps). This proposed
project also is crafted to achieve
literacy independence among
students.
Ma’am Sheila Mae M. Pagulayan,
Teacher III, a Grade 11 HUMMS
adviser, LIS coordinator, and one of
the proponents of Project AGRANIAG
explained that the Iloko term
Agraniag, which means “to shine” is
the inspiration of the project. It
wanted to let those students who are
already able and independent in
reading shine on their own and
develop their love of reading with
independence and intrinsic motives.
This project has also the following
objectives:
 Deliver appropriate reading
activities for the instructional
and independent readers.
 Improve students’ reading
skills and achieve reading

independence among the
target instructional and
independent readers.
 Develop strengthened linkages
of the school and the
community in assisting,
guiding, and monitoring the
target readers.
Ma’am Sheila also informed the role
of the language teachers, being the
facilitators; - to provide appropriate
reading materials to learners and
assign “Reading Partners” from the
community for each learner, and the
role of partners is to check whether
the students achieve certain reading
targets. Monitoring Tools and
Checklists shall be provided to keep
track of the reading progress of the
students.
 PROJECT MATHUTO

Sir Melchor C. Cachuela, The School
Numeracy Coordinator, and one of
the proponents of Project MATHUTO
( Math Advocacy To Help and Uplift
The Opportunity in Learning Basic
Numeracy) explained the importance
of their proposed project. According
to him, Numeracy is important for
individuals to develop logical
thinking and reasoning strategies in
their everyday activities. Basic
numeracy skills consist of
comprehending fundamental
arithmetic like addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division.
In his presentation, he told that all
the Math teachers conducted a Pre-
Test for all the learners from Grades
7 to Grade 11 as their Pre-
Implementation. He also presented a
mobile App that he developed. This
app consists of different Math
problems that they can answer but
with a time limit.

After the presentation of the 3
projects, Brgy. Captain Jonathan R.
Blas of Brgy. Baculod gave a message
to everyone saying he will support the
projects 100 percent.
Before the activity proper began,
Ma’am Jenalyn O. Laggui, our School
Head informed the body about the
donations we received. They are as
follows:

of cement
Ma’am Jenalyn and Husband- 100
pcs of Hollow blocks
Brgy. Capt. Jonathan R. Blas- 10
bags of cement
Ma’am Laggui also presented the
current situation of the school
canteen to the body. She informed
them that we need a canteen building

for the upcoming full blast of face-to-
face in November to cater the needs
of the learners. She asked kagawad
Jesus Suguitan if he will allow the
school to temporarily use their
vacant canteen building but the
latter said that

23 PTA Presidents attended the
meeting. Brgy. Capt Orlando
Bartolome of Barangay Casalatan
suggested that the former PTA
president in the person of POSD
Marlon Galutera will remain in the
position. The result of the election
and recognition of the new set of
officers are as follows:

 The newly elected GPTA officers
agreed on their designations and
promised to fulfill their duties.

 In line with this proposal, all the
PTA presidents concurred.

level about the plan of the school to
plant cassava (kahoy) in the school’s
vacant site. One of the PTA
Presidents, in the person of Mr. Roger
Ancheta, suggested to each PTA
President to bring 1 sack of cassava
stocks to be planted. Moreover,
Brgy.Capt. Orlando Bartolome
offered his tractor to cultivate the
vacant site of the school for the
planting of cassava (Kahoy). The “
Kahoy” planting project will be used
to generate income for the school.

Thanks to the
Host/Adjournment
Ma’am Laggui ends the meeting by
thanking everyone, especially the two
Barangay Captains. As all other
pertinent concerns were dealt with,
for the time being, the meeting
was adjourned at exactly 11: 15 in the
morning, with the same number of
attendees.
