1. Class Policy
Minarets Sophomore English

2. • Restrooms should be used between classes.You each get an exception to this every other class.
• Cell phones are silent & in your book bags NOT OUT. I have a class phone & parents are given
the school numbers for emergencies; they can reach you if they need you.
• Music is a privilege for those with a 80% or greater GPA. USE HEADPHONES & APPROPRIATE
VOLUMES.
• Come prepared: Laptop charged, no other uploading or programs operating, a free reading book
and all your work ready to hand in.
• Due dates are fixed. If it is due that day, it is the moment class begins or a specified time that I
will give.
• Extra Credit? Only if you finish work early, and it depends on the assignment (some get 10
points extra, others 1 or 2 points depending on the size).
• No Substitutions Retroactively. If you want to substitute an assignment, talk to me at the
beginning NOT AFTER IT’S DUE.

3. Off Task?
• You have an Effort/Attitude Weekly Grade that is worth as much as a class assignment.You
cannot get an A with a bad attitude, and there are no makeups for this grade.
• If you waste my time, you owe me time in detention or doing work on campus.
• Addicted to Social Media? You can use paper and pencil until you can handle the
responsibility of using your laptop and Facebook in my class (we will be using FB hopefully).
• Breaking school policies on the Laptops: Red/Yellow Grouping, Parent Meeting, Suspension/
Expulsion... Not fun stuff: Respect each other and the school online and in person.

4. The furniture & the room
• Keep it clean
• Keep it nice
• Food is by permission only
• No Food or Drinks on the furniture!
• Eat at the school tables & clean up afterward.
