9. Recommendations - Level 3
Problem: - lack of experience in the CM department
Solution: - Formal training of all personnel in the CM
department.
Problem: - No measurements of the configuration process are
taken.
Solution: - Measurements must be taken because it is a
necessary part of CMM. If Xavor does not start taking
measurements of its CM process, it will most probably fail to attain
CMM certifications.
Problem: - A record of Peer Reviews is not kept. The
information is reviewed and discarded.
Solution: - The organization should log peer reviews along with
the project and team member details to effectively measure the
team’s performance.
10. Recommendations - Level 4
Make a survey in their organization to see which
processes are being or not being measured
quantitatively.
Make an organizational wide database in which
measurement are recorded.
Start quantitative analysis during their planning and
development phases.
Launch a pilot project in which the organization tests
and uses rigorous statistical methods.
