Example Of Love Essay
Try to imagine the world with no love. Hard to do, isn't it? Love is a sacred feeling to everyone.
Love runs the world. Without love in the world, nothing would get done. Think about it, without
love, the human population would not be nearly as large as what it is today. Without people's love
for other people, no new families would be created. Another example is without people's love for
their work, nothing new would be discovered. Love is unique to everyone, each person loves
differently from the next. Love is immeasurable, and it should not be defined by science because
love is natural and experienced differently by everyone.
There are multiple types of love. People love their parents differently from how they love their
friends, their...show more content...
There would also be serious negative outcomes if this experiment were to be done. If scientists do
tell people the signs of love, then many people would react badly to this. Some individuals would
look at these results, and compare them to their current relationships. If the definition of love by
the scientists is not the same as their perspective of love, then they may take that to heart and
start to think about do they really love the person they are with. This can ultimately lead to
divorce, friendships breaking, and bonds broken with colleagues or family members. This may
seem like an unrealistic scenario to some, but it is very probable that this outcome would occur.
For example, if a man who was currently happily married reads these results, it could possibly
cause the man to become skeptical about his feelings towards the other person, and it could
possibly result in the end of the marriage. This can prevent future happiness for the couple, it can
prevent families from being made. The same thing can happen with family members, work
relationships, and old friends. A similar occurrence can happen with people's love for their work.
If scientists reveal how people should feel if they love their work, some people can look at that and
say, "Oh, according to this scientific definition, I don't really love what I'm doing with my life." The
people who think this can then go on to think that they've wasted their life doing something they
didn't really love, just

The Idea Of Romantic Love Essay
We are brought up on romantic love. Is this true in your experience? If so write a paper on which
you first define this amorphous concept and then discuss how you came about it. For eg. Have you
been influenced by media, T.V., movies in particular. Conclude by stating whether you believe in
romantic love or have cast of the idea.
"I don't care what you think, when he comes I'll leave and won't even turn back and look at you,
he'll love me, he won't be like you..." Words spoken by me when I was barely 10 years of age. I
was addressing my mother after we'd had an argument and referring to the arrival of my prince
charming who would understand all my dilemmas and make life 'heaven' for me. Such is the
perception of romantic love that I formed...show more content...
All our cultural conditioning makes us regard love as a single positive feeling, when in fact there are
a multitude of feelings, including those of envy, hostility and jealousy, mutual bitterness and some
positively inhuman actions – all sanctified, as it were, by a single word: love. To this word we tag all
kinds of expectations.
Our over focus leads us to demand too much from love. We put all our emotional eggs in one basket:
a romantic partner must be all things to us – lover, friend, companion, playmate and parent. We don't
realize that no matter how hard a partner tries to be all things to us, gratifying all of one's needs is a
herculean task – beyond the human calling.
Cultural ideas that love is obtainable by "wishing on a star" or calling on one's fairy
godmother, is a result of "destiny," or other wish–fulfillment myths blind people to the
reality that values must be earned by self–generated and self–sustaining action.
Romantic relationships are the greatest arena for spiritual growth available to us. It is well worth
the risk to take a chance on love if we are viewing it as a learning experience rather than the goal in,
and of, itself. Romance is part of the journey – not the destination.
There is nothing wrong with wanting the prince or princess to come into our lives. What is
important is to know that they will have issues to work through – and they will push the buttons of
our issues so that we are forced to

The Love of My Life Essay
Love conquers all. That's what we hear over and over again growing up. Everyone longs for that
one amazing person to waltz into our lives and steal our hearts for the rest of eternity, but is it
possible that love will be strong enough to face any problem that gets in our way? T. Coraghessan
Boyle once said "As strong as love might be, there is always something stronger that could come
along and shatter it" (After).
T. Coraghessan Boyle was born in 1948 as Thomas John Boyle in Peekskill, New York. When
Boyle went to college he never dreamed that one day he would have a major in Literature. He
originally went to major in music as an aspiring saxophone player at SUNY Potsdam ("Auteur").
"That did not work out because I did not have near the...show more content...
China did not tell anyone about the baby except Jeremy. They went to two different colleges and
that they would deal with the baby when it was time for China to give birth. When China's water
broke she called Jeremy and they went to a motel. Jeremy delivered the baby girl and China told
him to "get rid of it" so he threw the baby in the dumpster outside (Boyle 387). They left the motel
and went back to the college as if nothing ever happened. The police came the next morning and
arrested both China and Jeremy. China and her parents decided to place the blame on Jeremy by
allowing everyone to think that China had believed she had miscarried, and Jeremy acted alone on
dumping the breathing child into the dumpster. This enormous problem eventually led to the
downfall of China and Jeremy's relationship.
Boyle gets his ideas for his stories in many different ways, some can be from him just walking
down the street and an idea pops into his head, others ideas come when he is watching television
or reading a book. Boyle got the idea to write "The Love of My Life" from a case he read in the
newspaper (After). The case was about a murder investigation involving Amy S. Grossberg and
Brian C. Peterson for the murder of their new born baby boy. Grossberg delivered the baby at a
Comfort Inn in Newark, Delaware, in November 1996 ("Amy"). Grossberg was assisted by her
boyfriend Brian Peterson. Peterson threw the baby in the dumpster. In March1998, Peterson

Blind Love Essay examples
Blind love can be a hurtful experience, or one that is misleading. One example of blind love is
being in love with someone who will provoke you into doing things you would not normally do.
While most people have certain standards which they live by, being in love with someone to the
point that they influence you to go against what you believe in is a result of blind love.
Being in love can often persuade a person to do anything in order to make the other happy, or to
keep from loosing them. It makes one incapable of distinguishing right from wrong, and often the
person who is the recipient of this kind of blind love will take advantage of this circumstance. It can
be as simple as having them do all the housework, cooking and catering...show more content...
When friends and family see this happening and try to intervene, they will think of it as an intrusion
and will not listen or welcome this advice.
Blind love can also be when a person falls in love with someone is controlling or possessive, and
this person brainwashes him or her into thinking of him or herself as worthless, therefore using them
to their advantage, often forbidding them to have contact with friends or family. This can result in
an abusive affair, but because of blind love, this person starts to believe in everything the other says
and does, and becomes enslaved in the relationship.
A couple who are both blinded by love may do things that are irrational, or be in a world all their
own, choosing each other and dismissing their friends and family. They want to spend every moment
together, and are so much in love that they abandon their jobs, social obligations and anything else
that will separate them from each other.
Blind love can also be a love that sees no color, race, flaws or handicaps. It is a love that is
unconditional, and looks or personal traits do not matter, only the fact that they have found love.
It is as if a person were truly blind, as in not being able to see, only to feel with one's heart, and to
fall in love with someone without caring what he or she look like. Some examples of this could be

Essay On Love By Shakespeare
Through this sonnet, Shakespeare tries to define what the phenomenon of Love is all about, by first
stating what it isn't, then asserting what it is.
He starts with rejecting the marriage done for logical and sensible reasons stating that there are too
many obstructions in the path of such relationships. He then condemns the love which changes with
the changing circumstances of life, or ends with death, claiming that that isn't true love. Comparing
it to the North Star and using nautical terms, Shakespeare then designate love as a solid constant
remainder. He describes the intensity and ferocity of the emotion as such that people who are in love
do not back down from whatever challenges and difficulties life throws at them, but face them with

The first of these is alliteration which is immediately clear in the first line itself: the repetition of
the letter "m" and "t" in "me not to the marriage of true minds" gives the line an internal rhythm.
Love is personified several times throughout the sonnet: it isn't something which can change or
end, it is constant and solid, it faces "tempests" and is "never shaken." All these instances of
attributing the qualities of a person to a mere emotion, serve their purpose in making the Bard's
message clear, that love is never ending. One also finds Time to be personified "Love is not
Time's fool." This description paints Time as a puppeteer who plays around with everything,
controlling everyone, and changing things on a whim, which is a repeating idea in many of
Shakespeare's other sonnets plays and poems. Yet love is set apart from the rest of all the
emotions that one feels: it is something which Time can exercise no right over, as it is independent
of all sorts of manipulations. Visual imagery is then evoked to further emphasize this point and the
picture of Old Keen Time shuffles on wielding a huge sickle, yet Love continues to evade its grasp,

Essay about Love
Love
Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great
writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful
emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently.
Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be
experienced in many different ways.
People experience love for the first time by being part of a family. Family love is demonstrated
through lessons of sacrifice, concern and compassion, from the cradle to the grave. There are many
different levels and conditions of family love. It is the love we cherish between our intermediate
family and our...show more content...
A close–knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship
between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into
love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may
move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever.
Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at
the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been
looking for, one can not imagine life with anybody else. Romantic love is a connection between two
souls that is captured with a feeling that is not only felt within the heart but within their body as
well. I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love.
Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a
wonderful feeling.
To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of
love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out
for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. Whether it is between
family, friends, or lovers, love is a precious

Descriptive Essay About Love
The Merriam–Webster dictionary defines the word love as, "a feeling of strong or constant affection
for someone." I personally define love as an unconditional feeling and a feeling of absolute bliss.
The five qualities that I believe are the most important in love include dependability, honesty,
selflessness, loyalty, and empathy. Most everyone needs someone that willlove them
unconditionally to help guide them when they are at a low and support them when they are at
their high; for me, that person is my best friend and boyfriend, Ean Isaiah Thomsen. Before my
sophomore year of high school, Ean Thomsen was not necessarily a person that I was fond of.
When we were in our freshmen year, Ean was an immature, obnoxious person, always trying to
get attention. On August 29, 2015, I remember feeling my phone buzz in my denim shorts pocket
and receiving a text message from Ean Thomsen saying, "Happy Birthday Kena!" From there, we
started having random conversations over text and throughout the school days, making me realize
that he had matured exponentially over the summer. We began to date on September 29, 2017,
and I still remember observing the surprised faces of people when the news had spread; we are
currently still together. Ean Thomsen has light brown, silky hair that falls perfectly on his forehead,
not shaggy like a dog, but not extremely short either. His deep, dark chocolate brown eyes could
easily mesmerize you and he has eyelashes that any girl would envy to have.

Relationship Between Love And Friendship Essay
When discussing love, people generally think about the love between a husband and wife, or the
love between a couple in a romantic partnership, and that is one type of love that I will be
discussing. In addition to romantic love, there are other types of love also. There is the love we
have for our children, our families, and also the love that we have for our friends. All of these types
of love share some of the same attributes, however, they have differences also. In reading and
researching different types of love, I have found that romantic love and friendship seem to be the
most similar in nature, although they have differences, they share a lot of the same attributes. I
found that friendship and romantic love tend to have more similarities than differences. In this
paper I will examine romantic love and friendship. I will discuss the definitions of the two, and
what elements each of these have. I will discuss the different theories of love, and I will compare
and contrast the similarities and differences between romantic love and friendship. By friendship, I
mean true friendship, or close friendships. I believe that true friendship is very different from causal
friendships. True friendships involve a level of emotional intimacy that you do not find with causal
friendships or acquaintances. If you look in the dictionary, it will define friendship as the
relationship between friends, or the state of being friends (Merriam–Webster.com). I do not find that

Essay On Romantic Love
Love is an abundant emotion that has different degrees. There is familial love, friendly love,
unconditional love, and of course romantic love. Romantic love will be the superstar of this article.
Romantic love may be around every corner whether between an old couple or a young teenage
romance. However, love is not the easiest thing to attain. It is such a simple concept, though a
difficult thing to actually have a person's hands on.
Most people nowadays will yearn for something more commonly known as true love. True love
can be explained in a sense that it is a person we may or may not consider as a soul mate. It can be
someone we love to a certain degree that we feel happy, complete, and contented.
The definition may be thrown out there in whatever way, but meeting eye to eye with said true love
comes with certain complexity.
In other times, we may be thrown off. What we think could be considered love may not actually be
love.
Though before knowing how to find love, one must know the basics when it comes to the act of
loving in general.
PsychologyToday.com records research on love.
According to said research, vital things to a deep kind of love are physical attraction and a certain
level of intimacy, which follow through with companionship that you feel towards the other person.
The following can lead to difficulty because, in a sense, people of today are inclined towards an
ideal view of romance. People are blinded by what they see in the media and relate whatever

What is Love? Essay
Love, Love, Love. We all think about it, dream about it, sing about it, and even lose sleep
worrying about it, but why? Love is such a small word paired with a vital meaning. It's universal,
easy to spell, difficult to define, but impossible to live without. When we don't have it, we search
for it, when we find it, we don't know what to do with it, when we have it, we fear losing it. Love is
the constant source of happiness and sorrow. I am young and I haven't a clue as to what love is, let
alone what falling in love is. However, I have my ideas of what love is like. I have never witnessed
the beauty of people falling in love, or the severity of those falling out of love, so what is love?
Love in general could be frightening. Some...show more content...
I think falling in love with someone happens when you least expect it to, when you're too busy
focusing on other aspects of your life. This is where fate comes into play. That specific person
was led to you for some unknown reason. Out of the blues, it's like your knight in shining amour
that you have longed to be with finally found his/her way to you. There are people in this world
that think they may never fall in love again. You fall at times, but you get back up. You will love
again, and you will also trust again. You have to simply let things get themselves done, that's when
you know it's meant to be, because destiny took its course, and while you were too busy doing
something else, the love of your life came along.
Love dates way back to when the world began. In reality, we really have no idea what love truly is.
Raising questions like, is it even real? We watch love movies, read romance novels, but that's the
sugar–coated, sweet and simple version of it. Meeting someone, fall in love, get married, have
kids, spend the rest of your lives together. What about the suffering we have to endure when falling
in love? Risking everything for that one person? And even when we feel we've reached the end of
the road, this person has the power to leave us at any given moment. We put ourselves out there with
the chance they can break us apart.
Love, as it is with everything,

"I love you." These three small words have such a powerful meaning. Love is something for which
every human since the beginning of time has searched. From the quest for the perfect guy or girl, to
yearning for acceptance, the search goes back to the individual's desire for love. The dilemma is that
love has become hackneyed and clichГ©. People fling around the word love as if it is nothing
when in reality love is such a powerful word. People use the word love when in reality they
should be using the word lust or infatuation. Society tries to replace a person's need to be loved

In the poem, "Let me not to the marriage of true love," the speaker notes that love that alters
through circumstances is not love at all (Shakespeare 574). True love is unconditional. True love
does not care whether a person's lover's looks or personality change because the person will still
love her. Even if the lover makes mistakes, the love is still present. The speaker also articulates
that love watches through the storm, but is never moved (Shakespeare). True love is identical to
being in an eye of a storm. Although there is a destructive storm around, nothing can disturb or
shake true love. When problems arise, the lovers may be shaken, but never moved. The speaker
realizes that beauty if fleeting. He comments that even though the beauty of youth will go away,
love does not change; love is not bound by time. True love realizes that people are not going to be
young and beautiful forever. Time basically does not exist because even after death, the love will
still be there. Shakespeare's speaker compares true love to a star that guides all the lost ships;
although a person may be able to calculate its distance no one will truly comprehend how much it
is truly worth (574). True love can be like a star it seems like such a little thing until one studies it
and experiences it and then the true worth of it is known. Shakespeare's character argues that if true

Essay on Love
Much has been said about love, but if you search the horizon, you will discover that most of the
things written about love are either pithy or cynical.
Society in general can be cruel and heartless toward real virtue of any kind. In the most popular
venues, love is seldom dealt with with any degree of sobriety. Modern humor mocks marriage,
husbands and wives, then glorifies every conceivable breech of virtue, such as sexual immorality,
profane and obscene values.
Real love is a mystery to most people. Most people never realize the true potential or value of love,
nor do they learn to practice the art of love. It is usually very poorly defined. People think they are
in love, but they can't explain it. There is a great deal of confusion...show more content...
Romance is different from love, even though ideally, they should occur together. Romance is the
emotional component of love. Romance adds the sparkle in your eyes. Romance adds the perfume
and the colors. Romance embellishes the scenery and swells the music. Romance is the gilding of
love. Romance is gold leaf. It is ornamentation. Romance sometimes becomes a means unto itself. It
even becomes a cheap substitute for love at times. Some people seem to desire the trappings and
embellishments of romance in place of genuine relationships. By comparison, romance is superficial
to love. Romance is skin deep. Love is heart deep. Romance requires things that love does not
require. Romance requires gifs and surprises and lavish attention. Romance sometimes demands
things that contradict love. Romance is offended when the gold leaf wears off. Romance condemns
love that is not eye–pleasing. Romance often injures and denigrates true love because love doesn't
always appeal to romance's selfishness.
Love is for givers, not getters. Those who demand to be loved before they will love shouldn't be
surprised if no one gives them love. Lovers live in a world of giving. The getters, the ones who are
looking for love, is a different world. We have a duty to love, but we have no guarantees that we will
be loved. We have it in our power to love, but we have no power to force others to love us. It is folly
to spend life demanding love from

Love in Poetry
There are endless ways in which love can be portrayed and occur. There are numerous types of
love, whether it's physical, emotional or romantic love. I intend to expand upon and highlight the
various ways in which love an loss is portrayed in 5 selected poems: John Clare's 'First

'Remember'. All of the poets portray love the concept of love or loss or both in relation to some;
they all attempt to capture and express the presence of love and loss in the closest way possible.
In ?First Love?, the poet (John Clare) situates his poem as if telling a story. The story of a young boy

Essay about What is Love?
What is love? The type of love I'm describing is the one that gives you butterflies when a certain
person comes to mind. Just seeing that particular person can be enough to make one smile and
make your day and all the worries go away. Right now that person comes to mind. It's neither a crush

the long run, and people can also be blinded by it. Those who are ready to be loved have to ask

that person accepts that person for whom they are. When we love those that a different culture from

The subject of 'Love Poetry' has given rise to some of the most beautiful and fascinating poetry. The
poets illustrate their feelings, or the feelings of the people concerned with them through the use of
figurative language. Alove poem is not necessarily a poem about romantic love, about romance,
marriage and commitment; it could be something else entirely. It seems to be Universal.
Timeless. Yet, it's also very individual, filtered by our own lives and expectations. Love can be a

'do not grieve' , she does not want her lover to feel that her love is possessive, she does not want
him to feel guilty. She wants him to cherish good times that they had, 'forget and smile'.
The tone throughout is melancholy and emotional as the poet talks about her approaching death. The
sonnet form is suitably used because the poet is telling her husband on how death will take over
their love. She accepts death in a philosophical manner. Although she is physically dead she wants to
be remembered.
Christina Rossetti shows us how death can bring a blissful relationship to an end, but she also
shows that love can exist even after death if it has withstood the test of time. She repeats the title
'remember' throughout the poem as a technique to emphasize that she really wants to be
remembered. Poet Rossetti wants to be remembered by her love even if 'darkness and corruption

Here a poem by Christina Rossetti's, 'A Birthday', is a contrast to
'Remember'. Throughout this poem Rossetti expresses happy contented feelings, through her
beautiful use of imagery. Nature imagery is used in the first half of the poem, ' heart is like a

bond as friends. Hopefully one day, Pedro would swept me off my feet.
One great advice, I can give to you is wait for your true love to approach you. The significance of
the person approaching you, just justifies that the person is serious about you and there is a
possibility for a committed relationship. I certainly did, however, in my junior year, I identified
Pedro as my friend and nothing else. My dreams were still present, but I preferred at the time his
friendship over a romantic one.
Throughout that time, I set my mind to work on myself: spiritually and mentally wise. I achieved to
be patience, and be an robust person, by gaining these skills, it gave me contentment within my inner
soul. Overall, this taught me valuable morals and norms directly from every obstacle I stumbled
upon. Such as understanding how to be patience about finishing a book, or learning about my
self–care.
As senior year entered, I was a compassionate and determined woman for my education. I seek for no
man in my life, only my education. Learning gave me satisfaction, it nurtured my mind development.
I was fascinated by all the interesting facts within

Love : Love And Relationships Essay
Love and relationships
Love is a significant aspect in people's lives that requires commitment and attention. Despite the
many assumptions on love, it is important to understand that happiness in love comes from sharing
not only the good but also the bad. In order to have a successful relationship, there is need to
understand that love requires sacrifices as well as endeavoring to cultivate love for mutual benefit. If
true love existed in the world, there would be no need for divorce.
Everyone who desires to have a family normally dreams to have a happy relationship that is
founded on love. This love in turn breeds optimism and fondness for each other which can be
envious to many. Therefore, love is significant aspect in every human being that demands a lot of
commitment and attention. However, for any relationship to work, it requires more than just
feelings of closeness and promises to live together with one another with a commitment to ideals of
a relationship. It is also good to note that in order to form a trusting and positive relationship that is
characterized by love takes effort and time. When the partners are able to differentiate facts from
their feelings, they are able to see their partners in a more clear way and not through filters of
weaknesses they have against their partners.
On the other hand, there are many arguments that dispute the existence of love and only term the
relationship between partners as based on mutual interests. Many supporters of this

Reflective Essay On Self Love
Self–Love
I believe one of the greatest breakthroughs in consciousness occurs when the person you love no
longer loves you and decides to end the relationship with you for good. You are so used to loving
that person that when you enter that new chapter in your life alone, it almost seems as if love is lost.
You start to wonder if it is even worth loving anyone else. As we all know, love is essential to one's
well–being, but who can we truly love that wouldn't stop loving us back? The answer: loving
yourself. I believe self–love is the most important type of love anybody can have. It is possible for
everyone, but just like anything that is worth achieving, it requires hard–work.
I never knew the importance of self–love until it was the only choice I had. It was on the day of
April 11th, 2016, that my 6–year relationship had ended. The woman I had loved with all my heart
left me in an empty apartment along with all the bills. At the time, I felt broken and worthless.
There I was sitting on the kitchen floor smoking a cigarette, replaying the heartbreaking event
incessantly in my head. Miraculously, that same night I had an epiphany. I had realized that over
the course of 6 years, I was conditioned to love someone more than myself. The tears stopped
running down my face as a smile emerged. I was no longer in shackles. I was freed. Freedom had
arrived, and I had felt like it was

time to make a change. For the first time in over half a decade, I trusted my intuition. Suddenly I
knew what had to be done in order to shift out of the co–dependent and depressing paradigms.
I took the first step in moving out of the apartment. I was fortunate enough to move back in with my
parents who embraced my return with open arms. After submitting my 2–week notice, I found a new
job to start fresh. The location of my new employer was conveniently close to my parents' house far
away from the job and apartment I had previously left behind. Quite honestly, it was rather difficult
assimilating to the new environments while adjusting to the new lifestyle I had set in motion.
Unfortunately, the pain was still there. It was only the beginning of my

Essay Expository on Love
Love! Not For Everyone
Poets and philosophers for centuries have been trying to answer the question, what is love? Love
has an infinite number of definitions, which vary from one person to another. Love cannot be
measured by any physical means. One may never know what true love is until love it– self has been
experienced. What is love? A four letter word that causes a person to behave in a way that is out of
character. What is love? A first kiss, childhood crushes on a teacher or friend's mom. What is love?
A choice that people make by putting their partner's wishes, desires and needs above everything else.
What is love? The act of forgiveness, the infatuation with someone, the communication between two
people. What is love? A...show more content...
The speaker loves her husband so much that she is willing to meet him no matter what the distance
between them might be. Love is the constant care and affection that is needed to flourish and bloom
into great beauty.
Love is the commitment that two people share. Jarold Ramsey's poem "The Tally Stick" is a great
example of the commitment that two people share. The speaker says, "Here from the start, from
our first days, look: / I have carved our lives in secret on this stick" (1–2). Starting with their
marriage, the first notch is "Near the butt, this intricate notch where the grains / converge and join: it
is our wedding" (6–7). The couple uses the stick as a symbol of their love for each other. The stick
symbolizes how committed they are in their relationship. Love is a commitment one makes to put
someone's wishes, desires and needs above all. What if the husband or wife became ill or cannot
take care of him or herself anymore? Or perhaps the spouse got orders to go to Iraq, or maybe the
spouse got a job offer in another state. What will happen to the life that is shared? Does the
spouse give up and move on? No! The spouse's love and commitment will keep them together even
if they are far away, or moving to another state, or becomes ill. Because love is unconditional,
spouses can endure all hardships that cross their path. Love is an infatuation between two people
and the desire to be desired. To be

Sample Essay Love

  • 1. Example Of Love Essay Try to imagine the world with no love. Hard to do, isn't it? Love is a sacred feeling to everyone. Love runs the world. Without love in the world, nothing would get done. Think about it, without love, the human population would not be nearly as large as what it is today. Without people's love for other people, no new families would be created. Another example is without people's love for their work, nothing new would be discovered. Love is unique to everyone, each person loves differently from the next. Love is immeasurable, and it should not be defined by science because love is natural and experienced differently by everyone. There are multiple types of love. People love their parents differently from how they love their friends, their...show more content... There would also be serious negative outcomes if this experiment were to be done. If scientists do tell people the signs of love, then many people would react badly to this. Some individuals would look at these results, and compare them to their current relationships. If the definition of love by the scientists is not the same as their perspective of love, then they may take that to heart and start to think about do they really love the person they are with. This can ultimately lead to divorce, friendships breaking, and bonds broken with colleagues or family members. This may seem like an unrealistic scenario to some, but it is very probable that this outcome would occur. For example, if a man who was currently happily married reads these results, it could possibly cause the man to become skeptical about his feelings towards the other person, and it could possibly result in the end of the marriage. This can prevent future happiness for the couple, it can prevent families from being made. The same thing can happen with family members, work relationships, and old friends. A similar occurrence can happen with people's love for their work. If scientists reveal how people should feel if they love their work, some people can look at that and say, "Oh, according to this scientific definition, I don't really love what I'm doing with my life." The people who think this can then go on to think that they've wasted their life doing something they didn't really love, just Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Idea Of Romantic Love Essay We are brought up on romantic love. Is this true in your experience? If so write a paper on which you first define this amorphous concept and then discuss how you came about it. For eg. Have you been influenced by media, T.V., movies in particular. Conclude by stating whether you believe in romantic love or have cast of the idea. "I don't care what you think, when he comes I'll leave and won't even turn back and look at you, he'll love me, he won't be like you..." Words spoken by me when I was barely 10 years of age. I was addressing my mother after we'd had an argument and referring to the arrival of my prince charming who would understand all my dilemmas and make life 'heaven' for me. Such is the perception of romantic love that I formed...show more content... All our cultural conditioning makes us regard love as a single positive feeling, when in fact there are a multitude of feelings, including those of envy, hostility and jealousy, mutual bitterness and some positively inhuman actions – all sanctified, as it were, by a single word: love. To this word we tag all kinds of expectations. Our over focus leads us to demand too much from love. We put all our emotional eggs in one basket: a romantic partner must be all things to us – lover, friend, companion, playmate and parent. We don't realize that no matter how hard a partner tries to be all things to us, gratifying all of one's needs is a herculean task – beyond the human calling. Cultural ideas that love is obtainable by "wishing on a star" or calling on one's fairy godmother, is a result of "destiny," or other wish–fulfillment myths blind people to the reality that values must be earned by self–generated and self–sustaining action. Romantic relationships are the greatest arena for spiritual growth available to us. It is well worth the risk to take a chance on love if we are viewing it as a learning experience rather than the goal in, and of, itself. Romance is part of the journey – not the destination. There is nothing wrong with wanting the prince or princess to come into our lives. What is important is to know that they will have issues to work through – and they will push the buttons of our issues so that we are forced to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Love of My Life Essay Love conquers all. That's what we hear over and over again growing up. Everyone longs for that one amazing person to waltz into our lives and steal our hearts for the rest of eternity, but is it possible that love will be strong enough to face any problem that gets in our way? T. Coraghessan Boyle once said "As strong as love might be, there is always something stronger that could come along and shatter it" (After). T. Coraghessan Boyle was born in 1948 as Thomas John Boyle in Peekskill, New York. When Boyle went to college he never dreamed that one day he would have a major in Literature. He originally went to major in music as an aspiring saxophone player at SUNY Potsdam ("Auteur"). "That did not work out because I did not have near the...show more content... China did not tell anyone about the baby except Jeremy. They went to two different colleges and that they would deal with the baby when it was time for China to give birth. When China's water broke she called Jeremy and they went to a motel. Jeremy delivered the baby girl and China told him to "get rid of it" so he threw the baby in the dumpster outside (Boyle 387). They left the motel and went back to the college as if nothing ever happened. The police came the next morning and arrested both China and Jeremy. China and her parents decided to place the blame on Jeremy by allowing everyone to think that China had believed she had miscarried, and Jeremy acted alone on dumping the breathing child into the dumpster. This enormous problem eventually led to the downfall of China and Jeremy's relationship. Boyle gets his ideas for his stories in many different ways, some can be from him just walking down the street and an idea pops into his head, others ideas come when he is watching television or reading a book. Boyle got the idea to write "The Love of My Life" from a case he read in the newspaper (After). The case was about a murder investigation involving Amy S. Grossberg and Brian C. Peterson for the murder of their new born baby boy. Grossberg delivered the baby at a Comfort Inn in Newark, Delaware, in November 1996 ("Amy"). Grossberg was assisted by her boyfriend Brian Peterson. Peterson threw the baby in the dumpster. In March1998, Peterson Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Blind Love Essay examples Blind love can be a hurtful experience, or one that is misleading. One example of blind love is being in love with someone who will provoke you into doing things you would not normally do. While most people have certain standards which they live by, being in love with someone to the point that they influence you to go against what you believe in is a result of blind love. Being in love can often persuade a person to do anything in order to make the other happy, or to keep from loosing them. It makes one incapable of distinguishing right from wrong, and often the person who is the recipient of this kind of blind love will take advantage of this circumstance. It can be as simple as having them do all the housework, cooking and catering...show more content... When friends and family see this happening and try to intervene, they will think of it as an intrusion and will not listen or welcome this advice. Blind love can also be when a person falls in love with someone is controlling or possessive, and this person brainwashes him or her into thinking of him or herself as worthless, therefore using them to their advantage, often forbidding them to have contact with friends or family. This can result in an abusive affair, but because of blind love, this person starts to believe in everything the other says and does, and becomes enslaved in the relationship. A couple who are both blinded by love may do things that are irrational, or be in a world all their own, choosing each other and dismissing their friends and family. They want to spend every moment together, and are so much in love that they abandon their jobs, social obligations and anything else that will separate them from each other. Blind love can also be a love that sees no color, race, flaws or handicaps. It is a love that is unconditional, and looks or personal traits do not matter, only the fact that they have found love. It is as if a person were truly blind, as in not being able to see, only to feel with one's heart, and to fall in love with someone without caring what he or she look like. Some examples of this could be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Essay On Love By Shakespeare Through this sonnet, Shakespeare tries to define what the phenomenon of Love is all about, by first stating what it isn't, then asserting what it is. He starts with rejecting the marriage done for logical and sensible reasons stating that there are too many obstructions in the path of such relationships. He then condemns the love which changes with the changing circumstances of life, or ends with death, claiming that that isn't true love. Comparing it to the North Star and using nautical terms, Shakespeare then designate love as a solid constant remainder. He describes the intensity and ferocity of the emotion as such that people who are in love do not back down from whatever challenges and difficulties life throws at them, but face them with ...show more content... The first of these is alliteration which is immediately clear in the first line itself: the repetition of the letter "m" and "t" in "me not to the marriage of true minds" gives the line an internal rhythm. Love is personified several times throughout the sonnet: it isn't something which can change or end, it is constant and solid, it faces "tempests" and is "never shaken." All these instances of attributing the qualities of a person to a mere emotion, serve their purpose in making the Bard's message clear, that love is never ending. One also finds Time to be personified "Love is not Time's fool." This description paints Time as a puppeteer who plays around with everything, controlling everyone, and changing things on a whim, which is a repeating idea in many of Shakespeare's other sonnets plays and poems. Yet love is set apart from the rest of all the emotions that one feels: it is something which Time can exercise no right over, as it is independent of all sorts of manipulations. Visual imagery is then evoked to further emphasize this point and the picture of Old Keen Time shuffles on wielding a huge sickle, yet Love continues to evade its grasp, appears in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay about Love Love Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently. Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be experienced in many different ways. People experience love for the first time by being part of a family. Family love is demonstrated through lessons of sacrifice, concern and compassion, from the cradle to the grave. There are many different levels and conditions of family love. It is the love we cherish between our intermediate family and our...show more content... A close–knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever. Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been looking for, one can not imagine life with anybody else. Romantic love is a connection between two souls that is captured with a feeling that is not only felt within the heart but within their body as well. I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love. Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a wonderful feeling. To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. Whether it is between family, friends, or lovers, love is a precious Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Descriptive Essay About Love The Merriam–Webster dictionary defines the word love as, "a feeling of strong or constant affection for someone." I personally define love as an unconditional feeling and a feeling of absolute bliss. The five qualities that I believe are the most important in love include dependability, honesty, selflessness, loyalty, and empathy. Most everyone needs someone that willlove them unconditionally to help guide them when they are at a low and support them when they are at their high; for me, that person is my best friend and boyfriend, Ean Isaiah Thomsen. Before my sophomore year of high school, Ean Thomsen was not necessarily a person that I was fond of. When we were in our freshmen year, Ean was an immature, obnoxious person, always trying to get attention. On August 29, 2015, I remember feeling my phone buzz in my denim shorts pocket and receiving a text message from Ean Thomsen saying, "Happy Birthday Kena!" From there, we started having random conversations over text and throughout the school days, making me realize that he had matured exponentially over the summer. We began to date on September 29, 2017, and I still remember observing the surprised faces of people when the news had spread; we are currently still together. Ean Thomsen has light brown, silky hair that falls perfectly on his forehead, not shaggy like a dog, but not extremely short either. Relationship Between Love And Friendship Essay When discussing love, people generally think about the love between a husband and wife, or the love between a couple in a romantic partnership, and that is one type of love that I will be discussing. In addition to romantic love, there are other types of love also. There is the love we have for our children, our families, and also the love that we have for our friends. All of these types of love share some of the same attributes, however, they have differences also. In reading and researching different types of love, I have found that romantic love and friendship seem to be the most similar in nature, although they have differences, they share a lot of the same attributes. I found that friendship and romantic love tend to have more similarities than differences. In this paper I will examine romantic love and friendship. I will discuss the definitions of the two, and what elements each of these have. I will discuss the different theories of love, and I will compare and contrast the similarities and differences between romantic love and friendship. By friendship, I mean true friendship, or close friendships. I believe that true friendship is very different from causal friendships. True friendships involve a level of emotional intimacy that you do not find with causal friendships or acquaintances. If you look in the dictionary, it will define friendship as the relationship between friends, or the state of being friends (Merriam–Webster.com). • 9. Essay On Romantic Love Love is an abundant emotion that has different degrees. There is familial love, friendly love, unconditional love, and of course romantic love. Romantic love will be the superstar of this article. Romantic love may be around every corner whether between an old couple or a young teenage romance. However, love is not the easiest thing to attain. It is such a simple concept, though a difficult thing to actually have a person's hands on. Most people nowadays will yearn for something more commonly known as true love. True love can be explained in a sense that it is a person we may or may not consider as a soul mate. It can be someone we love to a certain degree that we feel happy, complete, and contented. The definition may be thrown out there in whatever way, but meeting eye to eye with said true love comes with certain complexity. In other times, we may be thrown off. What we think could be considered love may not actually be love. Though before knowing how to find love, one must know the basics when it comes to the act of loving in general. PsychologyToday.com records research on love. According to said research, vital things to a deep kind of love are physical attraction and a certain level of intimacy, which follow through with companionship that you feel towards the other person. The following can lead to difficulty because, in a sense, people of today are inclined towards an ideal view of romance. People are blinded by what they see in the media and relate whatever Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. What is Love? Essay Love, Love, Love. We all think about it, dream about it, sing about it, and even lose sleep worrying about it, but why? Love is such a small word paired with a vital meaning. It's universal, easy to spell, difficult to define, but impossible to live without. When we don't have it, we search for it, when we find it, we don't know what to do with it, when we have it, we fear losing it. Love is the constant source of happiness and sorrow. I am young and I haven't a clue as to what love is, let alone what falling in love is. However, I have my ideas of what love is like. I have never witnessed the beauty of people falling in love, or the severity of those falling out of love, so what is love? Love in general could be frightening. Some...show more content... I think falling in love with someone happens when you least expect it to, when you're too busy focusing on other aspects of your life. This is where fate comes into play. That specific person was led to you for some unknown reason. Out of the blues, it's like your knight in shining amour that you have longed to be with finally found his/her way to you. There are people in this world that think they may never fall in love again. You fall at times, but you get back up. You will love again, and you will also trust again. You have to simply let things get themselves done, that's when you know it's meant to be, because destiny took its course, and while you were too busy doing something else, the love of your life came along. Love dates way back to when the world began. In reality, we really have no idea what love truly is. Raising questions like, is it even real? We watch love movies, read romance novels, but that's the sugar–coated, sweet and simple version of it. Meeting someone, fall in love, get married, have kids, spend the rest of your lives together. What about the suffering we have to endure when falling in love? Risking everything for that one person? And even when we feel we've reached the end of the road, this person has the power to leave us at any given moment. We put ourselves out there with the chance they can break us apart. • 11. What Is Love? Essay examples "I love you." These three small words have such a powerful meaning. Love is something for which every human since the beginning of time has searched. From the quest for the perfect guy or girl, to yearning for acceptance, the search goes back to the individual's desire for love. The dilemma is that love has become hackneyed and clichГ©. People fling around the word love as if it is nothing when in reality love is such a powerful word. People use the word love when in reality they should be using the word lust or infatuation. Society tries to replace a person's need to be loved through sex, which does not work because that person just ends up getting hurt. Does true love really exist, or is it as bogus as a fairytale? The poems, "Let me not...show more content... In the poem, "Let me not to the marriage of true love," the speaker notes that love that alters through circumstances is not love at all (Shakespeare 574). True love is unconditional. True love does not care whether a person's lover's looks or personality change because the person will still love her. Even if the lover makes mistakes, the love is still present. The speaker also articulates that love watches through the storm, but is never moved (Shakespeare). True love is identical to being in an eye of a storm. Although there is a destructive storm around, nothing can disturb or shake true love. When problems arise, the lovers may be shaken, but never moved. The speaker realizes that beauty if fleeting. He comments that even though the beauty of youth will go away, love does not change; love is not bound by time. True love realizes that people are not going to be young and beautiful forever. Time basically does not exist because even after death, the love will still be there. Shakespeare's speaker compares true love to a star that guides all the lost ships; although a person may be able to calculate its distance no one will truly comprehend how much it is truly worth (574). True love can be like a star it seems like such a little thing until one studies it and experiences it and then the true worth of it is known. • 12. Essay on Love Much has been said about love, but if you search the horizon, you will discover that most of the things written about love are either pithy or cynical. Society in general can be cruel and heartless toward real virtue of any kind. In the most popular venues, love is seldom dealt with with any degree of sobriety. Modern humor mocks marriage, husbands and wives, then glorifies every conceivable breech of virtue, such as sexual immorality, profane and obscene values. Real love is a mystery to most people. Most people never realize the true potential or value of love, nor do they learn to practice the art of love. It is usually very poorly defined. Romance is the emotional component of love. Romance adds the sparkle in your eyes. Romance adds the perfume and the colors. Romance embellishes the scenery and swells the music. Romance is the gilding of love. Romance is gold leaf. It is ornamentation. Romance sometimes becomes a means unto itself. It even becomes a cheap substitute for love at times. Some people seem to desire the trappings and embellishments of romance in place of genuine relationships. By comparison, romance is superficial to love. Romance is skin deep. Love is heart deep. Romance requires things that love does not require. Romance requires gifs and surprises and lavish attention. Romance sometimes demands things that contradict love. Romance is offended when the gold leaf wears off. Romance condemns love that is not eye–pleasing. Romance often injures and denigrates true love because love doesn't always appeal to romance's selfishness. Love is for givers, not getters. Those who demand to be loved before they will love shouldn't be surprised if no one gives them love. Lovers live in a world of giving. The getters, the ones who are looking for love, is a different world. We have a duty to love, but we have no guarantees that we will be loved. We have it in our power to love, but we have no power to force others to love us. It is folly to spend life demanding love from Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I intend to expand upon and highlight the various ways in which love an loss is portrayed in 5 selected poems: John Clare's 'First Love', John Keats' 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci', Robert Browning 'My Last Duchess' and Christina Rossetti's two poems 'Birthday' and 'Remember'. All of the poets portray love the concept of love or loss or both in relation to some; they all attempt to capture and express the presence of love and loss in the closest way possible. The poet carries on to say ?Words from my eyes did start;? as if due to the overload of emotion running through his body paralyzing him and making him dumbfound, the young boy desperately wants the girls heavenly eyes to meet with his, as if a sign to recognize him and his feelings towards her. Oblivious to the fact that the young girl still does not recognise his feelings towards here or his existence as a matter of fact; Clare carries on acknowledging his loss, and simultaneously emphasizes his undying love towards her and continuers to secretly admire her. The poet expresses his loss in such a way that the reader feels sympathetic towards him; secretly admiring and long a woman who does not even know he exists let alone his feelings towards her. ?Are flowers the winters choice?? ?Is love?s bed always snow?? these two lines express his feelings of undying love towards his first true love and how he feels he should have told her how he felt; but alas it is to late, so he puts his feelings in writing in the form of a poem. 'do not grieve' , she does not want her lover to feel that her love is possessive, she does not want him to feel guilty. She wants him to cherish good times that they had, 'forget and smile'. The tone throughout is melancholy and emotional as the poet talks about her approaching death. The sonnet form is suitably used because the poet is telling her husband on how death will take over their love. She accepts death in a philosophical manner. Although she is physically dead she wants to be remembered. Christina Rossetti shows us how death can bring a blissful relationship to an end, but she also shows that love can exist even after death if it has withstood the test of time. She repeats the title 'remember' throughout the poem as a technique to emphasize that she really wants to be remembered. Poet Rossetti wants to be remembered by her love even if 'darkness and corruption leave'. Yet her love is unselfish. Here a poem by Christina Rossetti's, 'A Birthday', is a contrast to 'Remember'. Throughout this poem Rossetti expresses happy contented feelings, through her beautiful use of imagery. Nature imagery is used in the first half of the poem, ' heart is like a singing bird' , 'heart is like a rainb The title 'A Birthday' is not represented with love at all, but as we read the poem, we come to know that 'A Birthday' is new life, because she is in love. We see how love makes a person radiant and blissful. From the first line itself Rossetti Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Reflective Essay On Self Love Self–Love I believe one of the greatest breakthroughs in consciousness occurs when the person you love no longer loves you and decides to end the relationship with you for good. You are so used to loving that person that when you enter that new chapter in your life alone, it almost seems as if love is lost. You start to wonder if it is even worth loving anyone else. As we all know, love is essential to one's well–being, but who can we truly love that wouldn't stop loving us back? The answer: loving yourself. I believe self–love is the most important type of love anybody can have. It is possible for everyone, but just like anything that is worth achieving, it requires hard–work. I never knew the importance of self–love until it was the only choice I had. It was on the day of April 11th, 2016, that my 6–year relationship had ended. The woman I had loved with all my heart left me in an empty apartment along with all the bills. At the time, I felt broken and worthless. There I was sitting on the kitchen floor smoking a cigarette, replaying the heartbreaking event incessantly in my head. Miraculously, that same night I had an epiphany. I had realized that over the course of 6 years, I was conditioned to love someone more than myself. The tears stopped running down my face as a smile emerged. I was no longer in shackles. I was freed. Freedom had arrived, and I had felt like it was Remular 2 time to make a change. For the first time in over half a decade, I trusted my intuition. Suddenly I knew what had to be done in order to shift out of the co–dependent and depressing paradigms. I took the first step in moving out of the apartment. I was fortunate enough to move back in with my parents who embraced my return with open arms. After submitting my 2–week notice, I found a new job to start fresh. The location of my new employer was conveniently close to my parents' house far away from the job and apartment I had previously left behind. Quite honestly, it was rather difficult assimilating to the new environments while adjusting to the new lifestyle I had set in motion. Unfortunately, the pain was still there.
