Workshop Title: Instructional Design Learning Series
Semester: Fall 2011 – Spring 2012
Please be advised that all faculty members that participate will have classes ready for Summer 2012.
Contact Hours for DesignThis component will be eight weeks in length.<br />Contact Hours for Development <br />This component will be nine weeks in length.<br />Participants should plan to spend 9 hours per week working to complete the modules presented in this workshop.   If participants are comfortable with instructional design and technologically savvy then less time may be required.<br />,[object Object],All participants will receive compensation of $1,000 after workshop requirements are met and they have presented the course at the scheduled showcase. <br />,[object Object]
Course Description and Major Course ConceptsThe Instructional Design Learning Series Workshop is designed for faculty members that are new to teaching online at Moraine Valley.  Whether you design and deliver courses that are fully or partially run online, this workshop will help develop the skills you need to effectively teach online or in a blended learning model. <br />,[object Object]

Each of these sessions will have a component where you will have peer review time. You will be given a checklist to use to make sure that your course has all the recommended sections of an online course. We will come together to discuss how the course development process is going and there will be time to share resources or challenges experienced in this process. –I will ask Lisa Dyrda to join us.Library and Copyright LawLee Semmerling will come to a session to discuss the use of the library in your online classroom. He will also introduce you to the copyright page on the MVCC campus. Technology ReviewAnthony Marcasciano will come to a session to discuss specific technologies participants have selected to use in their online classrooms.Synchronous LaWanda will facilitate this session. It will be used to give you a taste of how to setup a synchronous class meeting. You will be using Google+ and/or SKYPE for this experience. Course Review with Department ChairParticipants will be asked to schedule a meeting with their deans or department chair to show the introduction and first module of instruction.
