10. Never miss a parent teacher meeting (both
parent should attend the meeting if possible)
It is easy, Its free…..
And its too good , a deal to miss on.
11. Always share with your child
what the teachers say at PTM.
Silence or secrecy feels like a
conspiracy for the child.
12. •Make most of every Parent teacher
conference:
•Have a goal-----
•Write down the questions in advance
•Be prepared to share information
about your child.
•Take notes for future reference.
13. If your child isn’t making as
much a progress in reading as
you think is appropriate, its time
to talk to the teacher and come
up with a plan.
Keep in mind however that
there's a difference between
getting more help and just
putting more pressure on a
child.
14. If you have complaints learn the proper art of complaining to school
personnel:_
Get all the facts.
Follow established channels.
Be specific.
Avoid personal attacks
Be sure it’s your child’s problem not yours.

Take time to try to see
the teacher’s side of
things. You and your
child aren’t always right.

Admonish your child to stop
complaining about school
work and just do it.
Time and energy on complain
can be better used to actually
getting something done.
