In Massive Open Online Courses
(MOOCs) there is creativity and the
openness and it allow the participants to

PERSON HAVE DEGREE OR HAVE PASSED GRADE 12
• What is a MOOC CONTINUE..........
What is a MOOC CONTINUE..........
• Everyone can reach his/her goal online
• MOOCs came when the knowledge rich
network.
How to use Massive Open Online
Courses (MOOCs)
 Since MOOCs does not have curriculum, it can be a
self-directed.
 It does not limit the number of participants
 The number of teachers or instructors can also
participate because the main aim is to gain
knowledge or to attain the certain goal.
 MOOCs can also be created by students discussing
the certain content or the chapter of the subject in
order to improve their learning
History of MOOCs
• MOOC is within networks that learning can generate
quite interesting experiences. This leads us to the raise of
MOOCs. The first MOOC was launched in 2008. It was
called ‘Connectivism and Connective Knowledge/2008’
(CCK8), created by educators Stephen Downes and
George Siemens. Building off a for-credit course at the
University of Manitoba, Canada, this was the first class
designed behind the acronym of ‘MOOC’ and used many
different platforms to engage students with the topic,
including Facebook groups, Wiki pages, blogs, forums
and other resources.
History of MOOCs continue……
• Around 2,200 people
signed up for CCK08, and
170 of them created their
own blogs. The course was
free and open, which
meant that anyone could
join, modify or remix the
content without paying
(although a paid, certified
option was offered).
Types of MOOCs
Types of MOOCs
• xMOOC. Is the type
of the learning where
by the learners share
the ideas and there is
only one instructor on
the discussion

• cMOOC. Hear the
learners control their
own learning, and
they create their own
goal. The learners are
not assessed or tested
weather they have met
the outcomes that they
where aiming at.
MOOCs I am actually going to do in
this module
Since I am the teacher of English and I enjoy it, I can design my own
MOOC. In that MOOC I will discuss the English aspects such as essay
writing and how to analyze the literature with my learners. The type of
MOOC that I mostly prefer is xMOOC because I will be the instructor
in that online discussion. After every discussion I will give the learners
the assessment to reflect on weather we have reach the outcomes we
have intended for.
