Enbridge believes that the best buildings result from
a design process that considers energy and
environmental efficiency from the beginning.
The DAP program helps facilitate an integrated
design process involving the architect, engineer,
building owner and Design Advisor.

Goal
DAP was created to assist in the design activities
aimed at improving a building’s energy and
environmental performance – whether it is a new
building, an addition to an existing building, or, a
major renovation.
Incentive
Applicants are eligible for a fixed incentive of $4,000
to assist in their design fees.

Applicants can include:
• DAP advisors
• Architects
• Professional Engineers
• Building owners or developers
Note: To be eligible the applicant must participate
in the design of a qualified project

How do you obtain the DAP incentive?
Qualification for DAP is a 3 step process:
1. Before the design process starts the DAP
application is submitted to Enbridge
2. Enbridge then reviews and approves the
qualified projects
3. After the project design is finalized the
applicant will complete and submit to Enbridge
the DAP Summary Report Form for payment

The NBCP program was
created to offset the costs
of constructing more
energy efficient buildings
for commercial, institutional,
industrial or multi-
residential use.

Who can qualify?
An applicant must be an owner or developer of a
qualified project.
What projects qualify?
To qualify for a NBCP incentive a project must be:
• A new structure
• A new addition to an existing structure
• A major renovation

Incentive
Enbridge will pay
$0.075/m³ of
projected annual
natural gas savings
to a maximum
of $15,000.

When do I apply?
Applications for the NBCP incentives can be
submitted any time during the duration of the project.
The incentive payment is paid out in two stages. The
first payment is made when the building permit is
obtained and the second payment is made after the
qualified project is completed.

1. Can a project qualify for more than one program?
Yes. An applicant can apply for both the DAP and
NBCP incentive for the same qualified project.
2. If the project does not have a Design Advisor on
board can Enbridge recommend one?
Enbridge can provide a list of Design Advisors to
choose from.

3. What is the cost of having a project modelled by a
Design Advisor?
The cost varies from project to project and is
usually determined by the size of the project and/or
the amount of work required. The DAP incentive is
intended to offset a portion of this cost.
