1. How to manage or EditList or LibrarypermissiononSharePointonline
Thisis article isveryimportantfrequenttaskof anyif SharePointadministrator,assigningthe permission
to listor Libraryavailable onSharePointsiteorpage.
We use to getothertask intervalsbutwe use toget verymuchfrequentlyIcansay dailyaboutListand
Librarypermissionandrelatedthe same.
As an administratororownerof a library,list, we canchange permissionstoletthe authorized people
access the data.By default,all sites,lists,andlibrariesinasite collectioninheritpermissionssettings
fromthe site thatis directlyabove theminthe site hierarchy. Itmeanssite collectionlistorLibrarywill
be inherittothe subsite of the same.
So nowwe will startworkingonList or LibrarypermissionandsettingsforSharePointOnline.

 Access the Permissionspage
 Break permission inheritance in SPOnline
 Assign uniquepermissions forparticularusers

 Restoreinheritance to delete all uniquepermissions
Access the permissionPage:
 To access the permissionpage forSharePointsite ListorLibrary,selectsite settingfromgearbox on
the top of page.
 Nowclickon the any of List or Library andopenthe same,make sure we will have some of data to
showpermission.
 Nowclickon Librarysettingfromthe libraryRibbonpage andselectpermissionforthe Document
Library

2. Break permissioninheritanceinSP Online
 Nowclickon Permissionribbononthe Topof page and selectStopinheritancepermission.
 Once we will clickonstop inheritance,itwill asktousfor confirmation,justclickonokand now we
can see inheritance page isstopped.

3. Assignuniquepermissionsforparticularusers & Changepermissionslevelsinlist or Library
 We will assignaunique permissionforone of useron SharePoint.
 Followthe above pointssame asmentioned,now will be onthe permissionnpage where we need
to selectGrantPermissionfromPermissionRibbon.
 Here Type username andcan share withthe same user,fromthe share page wizardandselectuser
fromInvite option.

4.  Nowwe will addsome more optionfromshare documentandLibarrywhichis available default.
 We will share the Librarywithsome unique Change permissionslevelsinlistorLibrary,clickon
Showoptionfromshare wizardand selectanyof fromdefaultpermissionlevel.Referbelowscreen

5.  Once selectthe permissionlevel,clickonokShare button,one of email be goingtothe users.Now
we will able toaccessthislistwithparticularusers.
Remove unique permissionsfromAnyof List
 To remove unique permissionfromanyof liston SharePoint,we needtoselectListorLibrary and go
to the Library settingpage byselectingfromLibrarysettingpage.
 SelectLibrary permissionsettingoptionavailableonthe settingpage and selectuserfromavailable
listof users.
 Nowselectusersandclickon Delete Unique PermissionfromPermissionribbonpage. See below

6. Check permissionforusers on SharePointlistor Library.
 Go to the Listor Library andopenthe same,clickon List or Librarysettingfromribbonpage on the
Top of page and selectLibrarysetting.
 NowselectpermissionforDocumentorListLibrary,here we will getoptionCheckpermissionfrom
PermissionRibbonpage.
 Nowit will asktoenterusername whichyouwant to checkfor.

7.  Once enterusername and click on checknow button,It will show permissiongiventoparticular
userat downside.
