Caldera launches new prepress automation solution
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
4
Solution Description
Caldera has announced the launch of a new product. Caldera PrimeCenter is a prepress automation solution designed to help wide
format digital printers to save time as they prepare jobs for printing. We are enabling the move from a “ready to print” to a “ready
to produce” mindset. Developed in cooperation with Zünd, this Caldera-owned and branded product will be available for delivery
from 1st June. This new software solution sits upstream from the RIP, and has been created to fit easily into a Print&Cut
workflow, enabling production to be scaled. PrimeCenter not only consolidates preflight, bleeding and nesting into one tool, it
also reduces the level of manual errors, while saving time on file preparation. Different input image files coming in from clients
– pdf, tif, jpeg, png – can be automatically prepared and optimized. These files are preflighted, marked and nested together, into
“ready for production” layouts that save valuable prepress and production time. PrimeCenter doesn’t replace the RIP as it does
not directly drive any printer or cutter, but acts as a firewall, preventing earlier issues at the production stage. Caldera
PrimeCenter bestows multiple benefits for users. There are valuable time savings to be made during the preparation of jobs for
Print&Cut production, resulting in increased automation and operator productivity. The optimized nesting feature will also
generate media savings, as well as saving time spent on nesting and layouts. Manual nesting and cut marks are avoided.
Production is streamlined thanks to PrimeCenter’s ability to inject job meta data, and this contributes to complete workflow
tracking using XML to connect to MIS and ERP solutions.

GE Healthcare Receives FDA Clearance of the Industry’s First Contrast-Enhanced
Mammography Solution for Biopsy
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Solution Description
GE Healthcare announced the Food and Drug Administration’s 510 clearance of Pristina Serena Bright™*, the
healthcare industry’s first contrast-enhanced mammography solution for biopsy. The clearance comes at a time when
women’s health clinics worldwide begin to reopen and are managing new protocols to help reduce staff and patient
exposure to COVID-19. In the United States alone, breast cancer screenings experienced more than a 90% decline due
to the pandemic. Accordingly, the Society of Breast Imaging has recommended providers consider the use of
abbreviated breast procedures to reduce the time a patient is in the clinic and reduce staff to only essential employees.
With Pristina Serena Bright, breast biopsy exams can now be done with the same mammography equipment, with the
same staff, and in the same room as the screening or diagnostic mammogram. Previously, for lesions not seen on
mammography or ultrasound, contrast-enhanced biopsy was typically performed with breast MRI. When compared to
MRI-biopsy guided therapy, the potential benefits of Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography biopsy include
shortened procedure time, improved patient comfort, and reduced cost for patients.

Solution Description
GE announced the safe and successful completion of the installation of a new rotor and a compressor upgrade on a GE
9F.03 gas turbine at Tirreno Power’s 1,200-megawatt Torrevaldaliga Sud Power Plant, located near Rome. The
modernization project started in late February with the goal to enhance the reliability and availability of the equipment,
which provides power to the Italian grid. In the following weeks, as the pandemic spread and COVID-19 protective
measures were put in place, GE, in alignment with Tirreno Power, quickly implemented additional safety protocols and
procedures to ensure the timely and safe completion of the outage. The modernization consisted of the installation of a
new rotor and of an enhanced compressor system to increase the robustness and durability of the turbine. The
engineering enhancements reduce the impact of degradation that naturally occurs with time on the rotor components
and improves their lifespan. This, in turn, reduces the risk of unplanned downtime and emergent maintenance.

motors in tandem. VDM25000 power converters with three independent channels accompany the 15-phase AIM. Each
motor drive train can operate on 5, 10, or 15 phases. This provides high redundancy and is more economical when running
at lower power. GE’s AIM drive train was selected to meet the requirements of the ZUMWALT Class Destroyer. Compact
enough for combatant ships and powerful enough for an aircraft carrier, AIM technology has demonstrated its performance
over more than two decades on land and at sea for mechanical strength, robustness; very low maintenance, and naval
performance requirements.

Honeywell and U.S. Army to Demo Next-Generation T55 Engine for Chinook
Helicopters
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
28
Honeywell has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Army to demonstrate and fly its upgraded T55 engine on the
heavy-lift, twin-engine Chinook helicopter. The new 6,000-horespower engine is 25% more powerful and consumes 10%
less fuel than the current T55. New modifications also make the next-generation T55 easier to maintain with lower
operating costs and increased readiness for the warfighter. The new T55-GA-714C engine is specifically designed for
next-generation military operators, and will improve the Chinook helicopter's ability to lift troops and heavy cargo for the
U.S. Army and National Guard. Because the engine is based closely on the T55 version currently in use, almost no airframe
changes are required — the same intake, exhaust and engine airframe mounts are used. This provides the Army and
National Guard with a major engine improvement without the need to retrain their maintenance and operational staff. The
design improvement will be demonstrated as part of the Cooperation Research and Development Agreement process with
the U.S. Army. The engine upgrade can be incorporated either by modifying existing engines at overhaul in the U.S. fleet or
with new production engines.

Rimini Street, Inc., a global provider of enterprise software products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP software products
and a Salesforce partner, today announced that Supreme Electronics, one of Taiwan's largest distributors of electronic components, has switched to Rimini Street
Support for the company's Oracle E-Business Suite applications and Oracle Database software. By switching to Rimini Street, Supreme Electronics was able to
immediately reduce its annual support costs by 50% and now receives an ultra-responsive premium level of support that they were not getting previously with
the vendor. The company had been evaluating upgrades of their Oracle software but did not see enough new tangible business value to justify the added cost and
disruption to the business. Under Rimini Street third-party support, the company now has the freedom to run their current Oracle software releases for at least 15
years with no required upgrades or migrations. Founded in 1987, Supreme Electronics is Taiwan's third-largest electronic components distribution company with
growing operations in China and Southeast Asia as well. The company relies on its robust Oracle applications and database software to manage its component
sales and to support its team in developing sales opportunities in a highly competitive market. Supreme Electronics sought out third-party support after looking
for ways to reduce the high costs the company was paying for Oracle maintenance and support, and for more responsive, higher quality support than they were
receiving from the vendor. Supreme Electronics went through a simulation exercise with Rimini Street, raising case tickets to put the Company's
ultra-responsive support model into practice and to see how quickly and accurately the cases would be resolved. Ultimately, after several successful tests, as well
as meeting the strict compliance standards of the Financial Supervisory Commission and the International Accounting Standards in Taiwan, Rimini Street gained
the company's trust and Supreme Electronics switched from Oracle to Rimini Street Support.

Rimini Street, Inc., a global provider of enterprise software products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP
software products and a Salesforce partner, announced today that The Iyo Bank, Ltd., a major regional bank in Japan, has switched to Rimini Street
for support of its Oracle Database system. By switching to Rimini Street, The Iyo Bank is saving time; cost and resources previously used for
database maintenance, and plans to utilize these savings to accelerate the development of innovation projects to improve their customer's experience.
The Iyo Bank operates 152 branches both within and outside Japan and has been using Oracle Database for over 15 years as part of its loan support
system. After reviewing the company's IT expenses, the IT department determined that increasing Oracle Database maintenance costs were a
significant burden and needed to be reduced. While searching for a solution to address this, The Iyo Bank discovered that by adopting third-party
support from Rimini Street, it would be possible to maintain its existing Oracle Database system at a significantly lower cost and avoid an expensive
system upgrade, yielding both cost and internal resource savings. The banking industry requires continuous, high-quality support for core systems
and mission-critical databases. In addition, the profit environment surrounding regional banks is rapidly changing, and The Iyo Bank is working to
transform their IT department from one that undertakes system development to one that proposes innovations using ICT technologies.

GE Healthcare to collaborate with University of Oxford, NCIMI on AI algorithms

GE Healthcare is working with the University of Oxford-led National Consortium of Intelligent Medical Imaging in the UK to develop and
test algorithms to aid in the diagnosis and management of COVID-19 pneumonia. The program will focus on developing, enhancing and
testing potential algorithms to help diagnose COVID-19 pneumonia, predict which patients will develop severe respiratory distress - a key
cause of mortality in patients who develop COVID-19 pneumonia - and which patients might develop longer term lung function problems,
even when they recover from respiratory distress. At present, clinicians cannot easily predict which patients who test positive for
COVID-19 will deteriorate and require hospital admission for oxygen and possible ventilation. Nor is it clear which patients will suffer
long-term consequences from the lung damage from COVID-19 pneumonia. The teams aim to develop algorithms incorporating data from
thousands of patient’s medical imaging, laboratory and clinical observations to provide both a quicker diagnosis and a prediction of how a
patient may progress and recover. Currently, some patients admitted to hospital do not see a worsening of their symptoms, while others who
appear stable can deteriorate rapidly. Identification of those patients at highest risk of deterioration and long-term lung function problems
may help physicians and caregivers to accelerate intensive support. It may also allow those with lower risk to be monitored in a suitably
safe environment, potentially including the patient’s home. GE Healthcare and NCIMI aim to develop tools to help in the management of
these COVID-19 patients from triage to acute monitoring, interventions, to discharge and those requiring follow-up after recovery.
