CHRISTMAS IN SPAIN
Hi everybody!! Pupils in 6th and 5th grades and teachers of the C.E.I.P. Castillo Qadrit in Cadrete want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Pupils have made all the pictures on this presentation and want to tell you about the Christmas traditions in Spain. We hope you like it. Greetings from Spain.
6th Grade
Hello friends, In Spain we have got traditions. On 24th December we celebrate the Christmas Eve, on 25th December we celebrate Christmas. On that date, we celebrate Jesus Christ birthdate and the 31st of December we wear red clothes, celebrate the New year’s Eve. The 1st of January we celebrate the New Year’s Day. We spend time with our families and friends. I like reading stories about The three Wise Men. I like singing Christmas  Carols. I like turrón, marzipan, polvorones… I want to invite you to my house. Bye bye friends, Alba.
I want to tell you about how we celebrate Christmas in Spain, in my house. We spend time with our family. We put Christmas trees at home; eat turkey, marzipan and dry floury sweets… I  like turkey. At Christmas we sing Carols in the street and people give us sweets, money… Also on 25th of December it is Christmas Day and we celebrate Jesus Christ birthdate. We wear red clothes the 31st of December because it is New Year’s Eve and eat 12 grapes at midnight.  The 1st of January we also celebrate New Year’s Day with a big meal. The 6th of January the Three Wise Men: Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar come and put presents for us under the Christmas tree. Arantxa.
Hello! I’m going to celebrate the Christmas with my family and friends. On 24th of December I will have supper with my mother’s family and on 25th I will have supper with my dad’s family. On 31st of December I celebrate New year’s Eve with my friends, eat 12 grapes at midnight. On 6th of January I will have a party to celebrate the Three Wise Men with my friends. Hi! How are you? I’m going to tell you typical things that I do at my house at Christmas. We decorate my entire house with a tree and the ceiling with all kind of colours. On 24th December, Christmas Eve, all my family goes to eat turkey to my or my aunt’s house. Here we put a Belen that is where Jesus Christ was born.  We eat twelve grapes at midnight on 31st December and everybody wears red clothes. We have a thing called the Three Wise Men; they are three kings that went to give gifts to Jesus when he was born. Oh, yes I forgot we go house to house singing Christmas carols and we eat turrón that is a sweet bar like chocolate but I don’t like its taste. We eat marzipan and polvorones. They are like little cakes with sugar on them. MMMMM Yummy… Well that’s all I do at Christmas. Lots of Kisses Mayka.
Dear pen pal, On 22nd of December we finish school and we are very happy. Christmas in Spain means happyness. Christmas Eve is on 24th of December and it is the start of Christmas celebrations. On 31st of December we eat 12 grapes at 12 o’clock. Julia.

Hello friends, For my Christmas holidays I will go to the mountain. I will play snow games, ski and sledged. I can ski very well. At Christmas I eat turrón, marzipan and turkey, In consecuence, a lot of people get fat. I don’t celebrate Christmas in my house. Goodbye! Pablo.

Merry Christmas!!! Christmas is coming and I´m very excited.  This is how we celebrate Christmas in Spain: The 24th of December – Christmas Eve  we decorate a Christmas tree  we open presents we have dinner with our family. We have for dinner: Turrón, polvorones, marzipan, and turkey. The 25th of December- Christmas day - We celebrate Jesus Christ birthdate. The 31th of December- New year’s eve - We say goodbye to last year and welcome the new one. - At twelve o’clock we eat twelve grapes. The 1st of January- New Year’s Day - We have lunch with all family. The 5th of January- Three Wise Men’s Day We open presents We go to the Three Wise Men parade. This is Christmas end. María Amparo

Hello friend ,  How are you?  Christmas in Spain is lovely. It is a tradition to have dinner with the family on 24th December. My family and I usually have fish and seafood. After dinner we are full and tired. That night Santa Claus comes and leaves small gifts for us. My sister is the first one in getting up and we play and play. Dear pen pal,  In Spain Christmas is very beautiful. We decorate the houses with Christmas trees, Bethlehem… The 24th of December is Christmas Eve. We meet with my family for dinner and have fun. About midnight Santa Claus comes to bring us gifts. The 25th of December is when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and we usually eat roast turkey. The 31st of December is the last day of the year in which we eat twelve grapes and go out late with our parents and friends for a party. Hello PEN PAL,  In Spain we celebrate Christmas putting Christmas trees, Belén and decorations.  We usually eat chicken, turkey and sweets: turrón, marzipan and polvorón.  Santa Claus or the Three Wise Men put presents under the tree. We celebrate Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and The Three Wise Men’s Day. Javier.

Dear friends, How are you? I’m fine. Here in Spain it is typical to decorate the Christmas tree with coloured balls and set up a Nativity Scene (Belén-Bethlehem). At Christmas, families meet to have dinner and sing Christmas carols. It is a tradition eating turrón from Alicante. The turrón is made with sugar, almonds, etc. On 25th December is Christmas Day. Christmas in Spain

  • 2. Hi everybody!! Pupils in 6th and 5th grades and teachers of the C.E.I.P. Castillo Qadrit in Cadrete want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Pupils have made all the pictures on this presentation and want to tell you about the Christmas traditions in Spain. We hope you like it. Greetings from Spain.
  • 4. Hello friends, In Spain we have got traditions. On 24th December we celebrate the Christmas Eve, on 25th December we celebrate Christmas. On that date, we celebrate Jesus Christ birthdate and the 31st of December we wear red clothes, celebrate the New year’s Eve. The 1st of January we celebrate the New Year’s Day. We spend time with our families and friends. I like reading stories about The three Wise Men. I like singing Christmas Carols. I like turrón, marzipan, polvorones… I want to invite you to my house.   • 5. I want to tell you about how we celebrate Christmas in Spain, in my house. We spend time with our family. We put Christmas trees at home; eat turkey, marzipan and dry floury sweets… I like turkey. At Christmas we sing Carols in the street and people give us sweets, money… Also on 25th of December it is Christmas Day and we celebrate Jesus Christ birthdate. We wear red clothes the 31st of December because it is New Year’s Eve and eat 12 grapes at midnight. The 1st of January we also celebrate New Year’s Day with a big meal. The 6th of January the Three Wise Men: Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar come and put presents for us under the Christmas tree. Arantxa.
  • 6. Hello! I’m going to celebrate the Christmas with my family and friends. On 24th of December I will have supper with my mother’s family and on 25th I will have supper with my dad’s family. On 31st of December I celebrate New year’s Eve with my friends, eat 12 grapes at midnight. On 6th of January I will have a party to celebrate the Three Wise Men with my friends.   • 7. Hi! How are you? I’m going to tell you typical things that I do at my house at Christmas. We decorate my entire house with a tree and the ceiling with all kind of colours. On 24th December, Christmas Eve, all my family goes to eat turkey to my or my aunt’s house. Here we put a Belen that is where Jesus Christ was born. We eat twelve grapes at midnight on 31st December and everybody wears red clothes. We have a thing called the Three Wise Men; they are three kings that went to give gifts to Jesus when he was born. Oh, yes I forgot we go house to house singing Christmas carols and we eat turrón that is a sweet bar like chocolate but I don’t like its taste. We eat marzipan and polvorones. They are like little cakes with sugar on them. MMMMM Yummy… Well that’s all I do at Christmas. Lots of Kisses Mayka.

After dinner we are full and tired. That night Santa Claus comes and leaves small gifts for us. My sister is the first one in getting up and we play and play. The 31st of December is the last day of the year in which we eat twelve grapes and go out late with our parents and friends for a party.   • 28. Dear friends, How are you? I’m fine. Here in Spain it is typical to decorate the Christmas tree with coloured balls and set up a Nativity Scene (Belén-Bethlehem). At Christmas, families meet to have dinner and sing Christmas carols. It is a tradition eating turrón from Alicante. The turrón is made with sugar, almonds, etc. On 25th December is Christmas Day.
