This document summarizes a study on improving wastewater quality from septic tank systems using a simple secondary treatment method. The study involved building models of a septic tank and aeration tank to test. Samples were taken before and after each tank to analyze constituents. Results showed that adding an aeration tank improved wastewater quality levels by 25-30% for biological properties and 20-23% for physical properties compared to only using a septic tank. Specifically, adding the simple aeration tank enhanced wastewater treatment in an affordable way.
