TSC Art Program Mission Statement “TSC will strive to educate our students to reach their academic potential in an environment that encourages confidence, competence and a desire for learning."

TSC Elementaries Howard Gardner's multiple intelligence theory stresses teaching to a child's strength or way of learning. Many children learn best through visual spatial stimulation and tactile experiences in art.

Because art is collaborative, it develops cooperative decision-making skills, leadership, and clear communications that are useful when working with others. In the art room we regularly integrate the other core academic areas bringing those concepts to life. Mayflower Mill Elementary

TSC Middle Schools Visual art lessons stimulate BOTH sides of the brain at even the earliest age - helping build new brain cells and make connections between existing ones.

Some schools, facing tight local budgets, are cutting arts programs and blaming the cuts on NCLB.
