2. About Us
• Architecture is the art of bringing together beauty, aesthetics, comfort, planning,
endurance and solid technical expertise together. Hence only handful of individuals make
through this exclusive community and even fewer can take upon the task of sharing and
cultivating this knowledge amongst the aspiring architects.
• North East states have always been rich in talent. Some of the best artists from our country
have been from here. Fashion and art skills have been a major cultural force out here,
arguably more than any other part of the country. Considering the speed of development,
the geographical situation, political status, the numbers of Architects are few and the need
for more architectshas been greatly felt in the North East. Yet, there was always this gap
between raw talent and a refined, mature and professional outlook. This is where Donna
Foundation took the onus and started the first architecture college in Guwahati. Ar. Abani
Das the Managing Trustee of Dona Foundation named the college 'Guwahati College of
Architecture' and dedicated it to the states of North East in general and Assam in particular.
• The technology is changing at a rapid place and it's not easy to cope up with it, unless there
is a guiding force keeping you updated and providing you with necessary skill oriented
training. Guwahati College of Architecture seeks to blend together Technology, Humanities
and Aesthetics into a special curriculum most suited for the students of today and
tomorrow and especially this region and its culture.

3. Our Courses
• 5 year Degree Course in bachelor of Architecture.
• The nomenclature of the degree awarded by Gauhati University is Bachelor of Architecture
(B. Arch).
• Approved by Council of Architecture, New Delhi.
• Affiliated to Gauhati University.
• The course is of 5 yrs (10 semesters) duration.
• A student will have to undertake practical training during 10th Semester, as part of
curriculum.
All Semester Exams are conducted by the Gauhati
University and results shall be declared by the Gauhati
University.

4. Admission
• Eligible candidates shall have to apply to the Principal Guwahati College of Architecture, in
the prescribed format only, along with all Certificates/testimonials supporting their
application for admission.
• Last day of submission of applications, shall be notified on the college notice board.
• Merit list and waiting list shall be announced 15 days after the last date for application.
• Aggregate marks obtained at the qualifying examination shall have weightage of 50% and
score at aptitude test shall have weightage of 50%, for working out merit position of the
candidate.
• Standard reservations as per Govt. and University norms shall apply for Caste reservations
/ Defense quota / Central Govt. employees / NRL / Foreign students / Management seats.
For any of the reservation category all the norms of eligibility apply.
• In case of reservation category, a candidate is not available/ not eligible, then such quota
shall be offered to next reservation category. if candidates are not available/ not eligible
and seats remain vacant, under reservation category candidates over and above open
category quota.
• In case of non-availability/non-eligibility of candidates for NRI or Foreign students category
such vacant seats shall be converted to management seat category subject to eligibility.
• The student shall deposit term fees in full to confirm the admission immediately, failure to
do so shall result into cancellation of admission and shall be allotted to the next candidate.
