2. “We All Fall Down” by Eric Walters takes place on September 10th and 11th, 2001 in New Your City. Will Fuller is joining his fathers workplace for Take Your Kid to Word Day. John Fuller works in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Will barely see’s his father because he is constantly busy with his job, and is worried that his father will be too busy to spend time with him during the day. All of a sudden, as Will is meeting John’s co-workers and learns how respected his father is, a plane crashes into the North Tower of the WTC. With fears of the South Tower being hit, Will’s father evacuates the whole tower. Some floors refuse to do so. When a plane ends up hitting the South Tower, Will and John must find a way to escape, as the main set of stairs are blocked. They locate another set, and must work together to get to the bottom of the South Tower to save their lives while reaching road blocks along the way.

Characters Will Fuller: a grade nine student going with his father to the World Trade Center for Bring Your Child to Work Day John Fuller: Will’s father who is a highly respected employee of the South Tower of the WTC Ting: a Chinese women who John and Will meet on the staircase while trying to escape from the building, and is suffering from major injuries from the impact James Bennett: Will’s best friend James’ Father: a fire fighter in New York City Mrs. Phelps: Will and James’ history teacher

5. Location The location I have chosen for the film of “We All Fall Down” is New York City in order to keep the essence of the lifestyle and atmosphere that the citizens have on a day to day basis, like September 11th, 2001. New York City would also help because of the scenery, which is very difficult to re-create. For some scenes, an office and house of choice would also be needed and can be located anywhere, but preferably in New York. If needed, it can be recreated on a sound stage.

6. Why Should This Book Become a Major Motion Picture? “We All Fall Down” is one of those books that grabs your attention and makes it very difficult for you to put down at night. When reading this book, and following the journey as Will and his father attempt to make their way to safety, every moment was filled with suspense and I never knew what was going to happen next. The novel shows us as readers what it would have been like to be inside the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks, and even from a point of view of someone our own age, which is why this would be a good film for a younger audience. If presented in the screenplay, the idea of suspense would keep adults who have a bit more understanding on the edge of their seats craving to know what is coming next. The book is very well written, and it is proven fact that every good novel is transferred from the page to the screen, yet “We All Fall Down” is the only one missing. If successful, a sequel to “We All Fall Down” titled “United We Stand” (the sequel to “We All Fall Down” also written by Eric Walters) may be an option.
