2. Summary Scott McLeod uses the basis of Dr. Clayton Christensen’s two books The Innovator’s Dilemma and Disrupting the Class as the basis of his discussion. Over time technology gets better and the innovator finds new people who need or want it. More and more people use the new technology and the old technology disappears. We then have a disruptive innovation.

3. Administrators need to transition to new disruptive paradigms so students are prepared for 21st Century globalization. They can't wait until the technology is good enough because it will be too late and the next technology will be out. Even if things seem fine, administrators must lead the way and move forward

5. Doing something different becomes more and more difficult. Take small steps and pilot a program with someone who is willing to take a risk.

6. Questions How do schools stay on the cutting edge of technology by moving with the disruptive innovations and not end up bleeding? How do schools move with the technology with limited budgets particularly in this down economy?

7. Personal Gain I understand disruptive innovation and can use several visual examples during training. McLeod reinforced the importance of taking small steps and piloting an innovation.
