2. 1. Choose one of the reading skills and strategies discussed in class that you found most useful. I chose to predict is a good way to understand the novel. Its when you make a smart guess on what’s going to happen. The strategy I chose is using the post it notes. I use the post it notes quite a lot for predictions. I would put a post it note when something is either hard or easy to predict. When I find out the answer of the prediction I would put a post it note on how accurate or inaccurate my prediction was. This helps me understand the novel. During a class discussion when we are reading together we find things that we really want to find out so we make predictions on the post it notes. I had a lot of questions in my head when we got to the part of the book when there were murders. First I predicted that it was the professor that was the murderer but than I thought it was some guy who lived in the Caso Rosada. After using post it notes for a while I stopped using them regularly. I would mostly use them for describing the characters. I then liked discussing and making connections with a partner. A strategy I did not use but I would like to try out is asking questions. I would always make predictions by myself but I should listen to what other people has to say.

4. April would sometimes get angry at things because her Mother has been doing a lot of things without her. She would only send letters. April’s mother had gotten married and moved in a small place so there was no space for her. April was then in a bad mood until she cheered up. April was also really nervous before the first day of school. She was a lot different then all the other children, she shouldn't be wearing what she wore in school. April was picked on by two boys called Toby and Ken. Toby and Ken soon joined the Egypt game and had brilliant ideas for it. That’s when they became friends but they did had fights and arguments.

6. METAPHOR This is a metaphor I chose from page 182 April and Marshall froze into a shocked silence. April and Marshall are in a frightening situation so they stayed quiet but they were terrified and paralyzed. A picture of the Metaphor. It’s when you say something is when it’s not.
7. Personification THIS IS A PERSONIFICATION I CHOSE FROM PAGE 45 Security’s pear shaped plush body and six of his black legs were hanging down Marshall’s back. Marshall is always hanging on to Security his toy octopus. Marshall called it Security because he always keeps him safe. A picture of the personification… It’s when you make the sentence come to life.
8. What are the elements to build a strong friendship? To have a strong friendship requires trust, respect, something in common and always looking out for each other. When you get into fights and arguments you should apologize to each other straight away. Friends always help each other no matter how old they get. Helping with your homework, getting a new house, taking care of your children. If you were to stay far from each other you should once in a while invite them or visit them so you will always remember each other. What impact does family have during different stages of our lives? When your small you need to be taken cared of and raised properly. You need to get a good education and your parents helped you with all this. When you’re a teenager you have a lot of problems and then your family gets involved in a lot of things because of you. When your older and married your probably to busy to visit your parents.
