• HISD is the largest public school system in Texas, as such, it is important to
have a consistent identity as a whole.
• We adhere to the rule of “Everything Speaks.”
• Every letter and flyer sent out represents your school and most importantly the district.
• Using incorrect fonts, colors, and logos can cause a negative perception.
• By using the HISD Branding Standards we promote a unified message.

5. Using the Branding Standards

• To change the colors within
Microsoft office follow these
steps:
• 1. Highlight the text you wish to
change color
• 2. Within the HOME toolbar, click
on the A with a color underline.
• 3. Hover over and select MORE
COLORS…
• 4. A pop up screen will appear,
select the CUSTOM tab.
• 5. Type in the corresponding
numbers to the letters RGB.
• 6. Once color is selected, click OK.
