2. TRIGONOMETRY
Trigonometry is derived from Greek words trigonon {three angles} and
metron (measure)
Trigonometry is the branch of mathematics which deals with triangles,
particular triangles In a plane where one angle of the triangle is 90*
Trigonometry specifically deals with relationship between the sides and the angle of a
triangle,. On the trigonometric function, and with calculations based on these functions
3. HISTORY OF TRIGONOMETRY
• The origins of trigonometry can be traced to the
civilizations of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and the
Indus Valley (India), more than 4000 years ago.
• Some experts believe that trigonometry was orginally
invented to calculate sundials.
• The first recorded use of trigonometry came from the
hellinistic mathematician Circa in 150 BC
• Many mathmaiticians like Aryabhatta, Ibn yunus and Al-
Kashi also contributes significantly.
4. RIGTH TRIANGLE
• A triangle in which one angel is equal to 90* is called
a right angled triangle
• The side opposite to the right angle is know as
hypotenuse
• AC is the hypotenuse
• The other two sides are know as legs or base and
altitude AB AB and AC are base and altitude
respectivley

9. SOME APPLICATIONS OF TRIGNOMETRY
• Main use in construction or else in the field of
mathematics can be applied in astronomy, navigation,
acoustics medical imaging, civil engineering,
seismology, electical engineeringphonetics ,chemistry,
number theory and many more.
10. CONCLUSION
• Trignometry is a branch of mathmetics with several important and usefu
applications
• Hence, it attracts more and more research with several theroies
published year after year.
