Vem har sett filmen Lilja 4-ever utan att gråta? Ögonen hos deltagarna på kursen ”Knowing, Understanding,
Acting” som den franska organisationen AMSED anordnade i Lviv, Ukraina, den 4 till 14 maj 2012 tårades
märkbart när filmen visades en av kvällarna under veckan. Ett trettiotal ungdomsarbetare från Sverige,
Frankrike, Italien, Grekland, Rumänien, Moldavien, Ukraina, Azerbajdzjan, Turkiet, Marocko och Algeriet
samlades i Ukrainas vackra kulturhuvudstad Lviv för att lära sig mer och utbyta erfarenheter rörande
människohandel och flyktingrätt. Dagarna fylldes med vittnesbörd från flyktingar (Willibrod Kabura,
burundisk flykting och författare av boken ”Le prix de ma liberté”, Priset för min frihet) och människor som
jobbar med offer för olika typer av människohandel, workshops om lokala förhållanden i de olika länderna
som deltog, och föreläsningar om asylrätt och internationella konventioner. Deltagarna gavs också möjlighet
att nätverka och utvecklade olika projekt som till exempel ungdomsutbyten på temat människohandel för
sexuella ändamål, partnerskapsbyggande mellan olika frivilligorganisationer som arbetar med etniska
minoriteter, integration av flyktingar i Grekland genom återplantering av skog, och ett utbyte mellan
Nordafrika, Europa och Kaukasus rörande bevarande av kulturarv. Merparten av dessa projekt kommer att
verkställas nästa år.
Trots att Lvivs flygplats stängdes med kort varsel på grund av byggnadsarbeten inför de ståndande
Europamästerskapen i fotboll tog deltagarna ta sig hem (om än med vissa förseningar) och lämnade därmed
ukrainarna till de sista förberedelserna inför mästerskapen.
Who did not cry when they saw the Swedish movie Lilya 4-ever? The eyes of the participants of the training
course ”Knowing, Understanding, Acting” were filled with tears during the screening of this film. The
course was organized by the French NGO AMSED (Association Migration, Solidarité et Echanges pour le
Développement) in Lviv, Ukraine, from May 4th through May 14th. Around thirty youth workers from
Sweden, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Greece, Italy, Morocco and Algeria gathered in
Lviv, the beautiful cultural capital of Ukraine in order to learn and exchange experiences on the issues of
human trafficking and forced migration. The days were filled with testimonies of refugees (Willibrod
Kabura, political refugee from Burundi and author of the book”Le prix de ma liberté”, The price of my
liberty) and representatives of local organizations working with victims of human trafficking, workshops on
the local contexts of the participating countries, and lectures on asylum law and international conventions.
The participants were also given the possibility to network and create different projects, such as a youth
exchange on the topic of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, partnership building between NGOs
working with ethnic minorities, integration of refugees in Greece through reforestation, and an exchange
between North Africa, Europe and the Caucasus on the preservation of the cultural heritage of the
participating countries. Most of these projects will take place next year.
In spite of Lviv's airport being closed due to construction works for the upcoming European Football
Championship, the participants managed to make their way home (albeit with some delays), leaving the
Ukraininans to the task of the final preparations for the championship.
