Raising minimum wage for federal contractors to $10.10 per hour.

Introduction Employment laws and regulationsHonest livingDepartments within the agencyEthical concerns Organizational ethics
Federal contractors, one who works with the federal government to provide services, supplies, or other work. They are subjected to special employment laws and regulations.
Right now minimum wage is only $7.25 per hour; families cannot make an honest lively with no $7.25 per hour. This is the reason why we have so many families living in poverty and on government assistance. So, why only raise minimum wage on federal contractors and not everyone who’s out to make an honestly living in today’s society.
There are varieties of departments within this organization; but only the federal contractors are considered for this pay increase. Uniformed and civil service employers are to keep arm’s length relationship with contractor employees.
There are many ethical concerns with raising minimum wage to $10.10 per hour for federal contractors only, but I will only explain a two and they are support and criticism.
Analyzing the overall manner in which the Department of Defense and how raising minimum wage will impact their organizational ethics.

Raising Minimum Wage Minimum wage for federal contractors only Minimum wage will go from $7.25 per hour to $10.10 per hourMinimum wage should be $14.50 per hourRelief on government fundsPeople in poverty
Minimum wage will only be for federal contracted workers. The wage will go form $7.25 per hour $15, 080 per year to $10.10 per hour $21,008 per year. The wage should go up to $14.50 per hour which is $30,160 per year this way people can live out of poverty. It will take $28,000 per year for someone not to live in poverty, so $14.50 per hour would put a lot of people above the poverty. Lesser people would need government assistance and if everyone was making this it could wipe government assistance out for the working and be able to help the people that really need it like the elders and veterans.
*
Policies SupportDomestic policy support minimum wage Establish funds for the governmentModifying policy for federal contractors Modifying policy for all workersComing out of poverty
Policy generally confine the problems and issues within the country, this plays a part with the welfare of citizens of the country will be a big part of the domestic area.
More taxes will be gain from workers once wages are increased their income will be to $21,008 per year instead of $15,080 per year.
Raising minimum wage to $14.50 per hour would be a great accomplishment for the government. This would cut down on government assistance.
A lot of government funding will be cut and then these funding would be good for education and nursing homes.
Raising minimum wage to $14.50 per hour $30, 160 per year would benefit people by removing them out.

Raising minimum wage to $14.50 per hour $30, 160 per year
would benefit people by removing them out of the poverty level
which is $28, 000 per years this would also help the government
assistance programs, because more people would come off
assistance.

Negative Policy ModificationsPresident/Government only
making a proposalNot noticing people need the raiseRaise for
federal contractors only Raise only $10.10 per hourTurnover
rate rising
President making proposal to raise the minimum wage.
Sometime these can be stopped and not go into affect.
People need raises every year, because the cost of living goes
up every year, insurance premiums and etc.
Only raising federal contractor wages is like saying the rest of
the working population does not matter. You have to take what
you already have and be satisfied.
4. By raising the wage to $10.10 per hour is still not helping
people get out of poverty level they would still need
government assistance to survive in today society.
The turnover rate for most employees will still keep rising,
because people would keep leaving current jobs for more money
to support their families.

Advantage Federal DepartmentEmployed with the federal
governmentControlHelping regular employeesFederal
budgetUniform and Civil employees
Employed with the federal department and are the only people
that will benefit from this raise. There is many departments
with in this organizational but only the federal contactors are
considered for this pay increase.
The difference with regular employees and contractors is
control. When an agencies has control means and manner of
worker’s performance extent of supervisors and directions,
types of work and skills required and compensation.
By helping them finish task and filling in for a day.
This will help the federal budget in many different ways.
Contracted employees does not receive the benefits that regular
employees receive, they are able to worker certain days regular
employees are not allowed, they are not allowed to drive
company vehicle, and etc. Not having regular benefits is a huge
benefit with the agency budget, there will not have to be any
holiday, vacation, sick, and deferment pay will not have to be
paid to the contracted employees. Also, the employer will not
have to pay any insurance, pension, or 401K percentages to the
contracted employees.
Uniformed and civil service employers are to keep arm’s length
5. relationship with contractor employees. Reasons to keep
contractors in arm’s length; because they can over-offer in order
to generate business, inadvertently commit the government,
embarrassment to commands during ratifications, legal
implication that includes lawsuits, and etc.

Politics Impact Government assistantPresident executive
actionInvolved with everythingGovernment programsSociety
Government assistance will still be needed for these families
because this would not put them at the out of poverty level.
President Obama took this executive action to improve the
quality and efficiency of services provided to the government.
This would cut down on wages turnover increase morale, and
will have higher productivity for federal contractors (Wage and
Hour Division/June 2014).
Politics have to be involved with everything that is going. They
are the ones that seems that they have the right answer to
everything when they do not.
There will be a few government programs these employees may
lose; such as, TNAF, food stamp, energy assistance, and etc.
Society would be a better place if people could just find a
descent job or career that can keep them out of poverty level
and at the point where they are able to support their family
without stress. If anything employers should have on-site day
care service at no charge to their employees and this could help
with some of their bigger expense.

Policy Issues
6. Raising wages
Intentional policy
Wage growth
Create jobs
Deliver broadly shared wage
Raising wages is a political spectrum that wage is stagnation
one of the key economic challenges.
Intentional policy can be reversed by making them into different
policy choices. Policymakers have to intentionally stop
bargaining when it comes to low and moderate wage workers.
These people would like to live comfortable too.
By having such low wages people tend to leave jobs for better
paying jobs. There have been excessive unemployment over the
years and financialization of the economy and excessive
executive pay growth.
By tightening the labor market would help, so employers could
have a better pay increase to get and keep the workers they
need.
Creating jobs is a plus, but corporate tax reform, lowering tax
rates on individuals or corporations, raising interest rates, and
pursuing trade deals jobs will never be created this way.
Support is bear all or part of the weight of. When people are
not making enough to support their families and then they are
told only a portion of employees are getting a raise; so they feel
that they are low-wage employees that are paid so little anyway.
An increase will not be a major source of loss for them; these
workers will stay in positions longer and reduce the turnover
rate.

Ethical Concerns Raising wage make it hard for
employmentCriticismSupport LegislationPerversity thesis
7. Raising the minimum wage in the U.S. would, make it
noticeably harder for low-skilled workers to find employment.
This means high school education and maybe even a degree
would be required to gain any type of employment.
Criticism is an expression of disapproval of someone or
something based on perceived faults or mistakes. There is
often-repeated criticism that increasing the minimum wage
would increase unemployment, because many would be upset
that the raising is only for federal contractors. Studies are
divided as to this claim, with several recent ones finding no
effect or no statistically significant effect.
Support is bear all or part of the weight of. When people are
not making enough to support their families and then they are
told only a portion of employees are getting a raise; so they feel
that they are low-wage employees that are paid so little anyway.
An increase will not be a major source of loss for them; these
workers will stay in positions longer and reduce the turnover
rate.
The purpose of legislation is to ensure that employers that have
higher bargaining power do not exploit their workers and that
their workers earn a fail living wage.
Legislation is well-intentioned policy with inadvertently harms
the group of people it aims to protect the workers.

Constitutional LawFair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)16th

(Internal Revenue Service)
The federal minimum wage provisions are under the Fair Labor
Standard Act known as FLSA. FLSA does not provide wage
8. payment for an employee it is usual time that one has worked
passed their normal work schedule and is not paid for by the
company. Some companies pay FLSA time and others do not
there is not law supporting that this has to be paid.
Wages and salaries are not considered income within the
original meaning and intent of the 16th Amendment, that is
known as the Income Tax Amendment.
Congress pass an amendment that would grant federal
government a right to directly tax the wages or salaries of
working people.
Supports and defends the United States Constitution even when
they are exposed to claims that are legal problems with the IRS
administered and enforced the federal tax systems.

ConclusionRemoving people out of povertyHelping employers
and society Employees understandingKnowing the lawWages
for federal contractors
By, raising the minimum wage this would allow people to come
off of government assist and free up state issued money where
they will be able to use those funds in education and other areas
that need the funds.
. If anything employers should have on-site day care service at
no charge to their employees and this could help with some of
their bigger expense. Then the government should allow
markets to be tax free this may help with other expense that one
may have to make it in society.
companies and organizations will make it possible to get their
other employees to understand why only the federal contractors
9. are receiving the raise and not everyone. This will go very well
if one has great communication and problem solving skills.
Because before they bring any news to their employees they will
implement all aspects of the new and make sure they are able to
answer every question that may arise and have a very detail
respond to those questions.
While raising the minimum wage for federal contracted
employees, regular employees have to realize that these
employees can be taken off payroll at any time.
