The e-portfolio landscape

  1. Moodle course The Challenger Institute of Technology's Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) in collaboration with Birla Nifty Copper Operations has developed this online recognition of prior learning (RPL) process for employees who are experienced but do not hold formal qualifications.  Employees wishing to undertake RPL assessment to have their current skills and knowledge formally recognised are required to develop an e-portfolio that will contain evidence to be assessed by a qualified Assessor. 
  2. All information for RPL candidates is on the Moodle site. RPL information Guidelines and instruction sheets For each course Qualification outlines Qualification pathway, Progress checklist for candidates, Self evaluation packs
  3. Portfolios may include: personal statements that outline the participant’s skills and knowledge against the standards and the main items of evidence used to support their claim a resumé (outlining past experience and qualifications) testimonials workplace documents awards, training records/qualifications case studies plans, budgets project reports, charts, surveys, diagrams, graphs journal or diary entries letters, copies of emails, memos, agendas, minutes of meetings.
  4. PDF guidelines: Development of ePortfolio Your ACEPT RPL Assessor has provided you with a USB containing the following file structure to commence building your ePortfolio. The file structure on the USB has been established to support you in providing evidence for your RPL application. Please note that you can add additional folders to your USB if you have other categories of evidence you wish to save. ePortfolio evidence may include examples as shown below: Awards / Training Records / Qualifications Scan copies of your awards, training records and qualifications and then save them to this folder on your USB drive. etc
  5. Information about Australian VET system The Certificate IV TAE The RPL process Self assessment Evidence requirements Submission of evidence
  6. Joining ANF gives students access to iFolio, which they could use to assemble their portfolio. Developing Moodle course for RPL candidates to submit their evidence electronically.
  7. Can enter your personal achievements and print a personal achievement certificate. Records Personal Achievement hours Add new achievement, print your certificate, email your certificate CV – profile, education, employment history, skills, professional development, professional memberships, professional references, interests. Print, email your CV. Clinical updates are articles. Must pass the quiz with 70% or more. CPD (Continuing Professional Development) time for each article and quiz is automatically added to your ifolio Achievement Certificate Can print or email certificates.
  8. Sections for: Profile Education Employment history Skills Professional development Professional memberships Professional references Interests
  9. Member can download fact sheets. Then takes the quiz. Must get >70% to have achievement recorded in PD hours Records hours for each article & quiz
  10. Assessor keeps the OneNote file for his records. Sends a copy to the RPL candidate for their records.
