safety or well being of others.
3. What does this mean
• This means that whether you’re a parent,
carer or just a worker. You have a duty of care
to the people whom your caring or working
for. You have a duty of care to try and ensure
there safety.
4. How do you achieve it
• You achieve duty of care by building a healthy
relationship with your child
• Staying calm
• When time is right talk to your child
• Make an agreement
• Find out how and where your child got the
information.
5. What happens when it goes wrong
• Parents can feel that if they ‘give in’ they have
lost some control.
• Person may be harmed
• Trust may be lost leading to bigger issues
down the track
• Person could become injured if duty of care is
lost.
