1. To calibrate a Promethean ActivBoard, hold the ActivPen close to the flame icon in the top left corner of the board for several seconds to initiate calibration or click the ActivManager icon and select Calibrate. 2. Follow the on-screen instructions to click on crosses that appear around the edges of the board to align the pen tip and cursor. 3. Check that the pen tip and cursor are now aligned after calibration by hovering the pen over the board. Recalibrate if they are not aligned.

ActivBoard: How to Calibrate a Promethean ActivBoard
When using an ActivBoard, it may become necessary to re‐calibrate if the whiteboard or projector have been
moved for any reason. Calibration aligns the tip of the ActivPen to the cursor on the screen.
1. Check the Calibration
• With both the ActivBoard and the computer switched on, hold the ActivPen lightly on the ActivBoard,
without pushing in the ActivPen nib. The cursor, on the ActivBoard, should line up with the tip of the
ActivPen. If it does not, you need to calibrate the ActivBoard.
2. Initiate the Calibration Process
Method 1:
• Hold the ActivPen close to the indicator light (flame icon in the top left corner of the ActivBoard)
“hovering” over the middle of the icon for several seconds
• You will hear a beep, the ActivBoard will turn white and display the following message: “Click once
anywhere on the board to start the calibration process.”
• Follow the on‐screen instructions (see Completing the Calibration Process)
Method 2:
• At your computer, click the ActivManager icon located on the system taskbar
• Select Calibrate
• Once the calibration process starts, move back to the ActivBoard
• Follow the on‐screen instructions (see Completing the Calibration Process)
3. Complete the Calibration Process
• After the calibration process has been initiated, the ActivBoard will turn white and display the
following message: “Click once anywhere on the board to start the calibration process.”
• Click once on the board to begin. A series of five small crosses will appear in a clockwise order around
the edges of the ActivBoard. When each one appears, tap the nib of your ActivPen in the center of the
cross one time to click.
• After you have clicked (tapped) all five crosses, the calibration process will finish.
4. Re‐Check the Calibration
• Check that the tip of your ActivPen lines up with the cursor on the ActivBoard.
o If it does, then you successfully completed the calibration process properly.
o If it does not, then you will need to re‐calibrate the ActivBoard again.
