3. Development Process Games are normally brainstormed with a small (or ‘core’) team of developers who will come up with a general concept for a game. Throughout this process, many meetings will take place so all developers add their ideas into the building concept. Many of these people will also become in charge of different sections of the company making sure the original idea is stuck to. Soon after, artists are tasked to create the basic characters, races/species to be developed as well as backgrounds and environments. The graphics team then create models after the artists have thought up ideas for characters and scenery, and usually also add animation to these models. During this time, the programming and engineering teams are tasked to simply create the coding behind the games to make sure they are playable and work the way the development team had planned. Once the graphics and programming teams have combined their work to create a working prototype of the game, the game then goes into alpha and beta testing stages where testers are brought in to play the game, and they are tasked with extensively searching the game for bugs.
4. Where Blizzard differentiates from other companies This sector differentiates itself from others in a similar field as the animations and graphics within the video game are usually fully interactive with the ‘player’ and how they play the game. Also different from similar companies is that create games as Blizzard have unique user interfaces compared to other games of the same genre.
