Lesson 1: “I’m Batman, not Borg.” Questions to ponder… How are students today different? (or the same?) Why does this matter? Are you Batman? Borg? Digital immigrant or native? Create your own learning metaphor.

Lesson 2: “I’m a square peg in a round hole.” Questions to ponder… How don’t you ‘fit in’ and how does this challenge you? How have you differentiated learning for a square peg? What can you do to help a square peg in your class/school? What  needs  to change?

Lesson 3: Reflection, metacognition, and metaphors are powerful ways to learn. When do you make the time to meaningfully reflect? When do you/your staff/your class think about thinking? When do you/your staff/your class talk about learning? How do you use metaphors to teach and learn?

  • 6. Lesson 1: “I’m Batman, not Borg.” Questions to ponder… How are students today different? (or the same?) Why does this matter? Are you Batman? Borg? Digital immigrant or native? Create your own learning metaphor.
