1. RESEARCH ON MUSIC GENRE

2. ROCK MUSIC
ROCK MUSIC is the genre of popular music as it was
originated in United States in 1950 and then further
more classified into different type of Rock music.
Rock music is being accompanied by guitar, drum
and bass. Many style of rock music use keyboard
instruments such as piano, mellotron and
synthesizer. Rock Music usually consist of strong
back beat, which often revolves around guitar. Many
Rock band consist of guitarist, lead singer, bass
guitarist and drummer forming a choir.

3. SUB GENRE
Rock Music consist of some types of sub genres:
1) Hard Rock 2) Soft Rock
3) Heavy Metal 4) Punk Rock
5) Garage Rock 6) Instrumental Rock

4. SELECTED GENRE
The genre, I would go for my music album is,
“SOFT ROCK”.

5. SOFT ROCK
• Soft Rock or light rock is a style of music which uses
the techniques of rock music often combined with
elements from folk music to compose a softer, more
toned-down sound. Hard rock had been established
as a mainstream genre by 1965. From the end of the
1960s, it became common to divide mainstream rock
music into soft and hard rock, with both emerging as
major radio formats in the US. Soft rock was often
derived from folk rock, using acoustic instruments
and putting more emphasis on melody and
harmonies.

6. TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for soft rock music is most likely
to be teenagers and young adults which ranges from
16-25. This genre of music attracts young people
more than the other age groups, so that’s why rock
music is most popular music among all the genres.

12. LOCATION
Almost every rock music video has same sort of
crowd and stage as shown in the pictures below.
They also mainly base their locations in dark
lighting and revolve the location around the
narrative of the song.

13. COSTUME
The soft rock consist of leather jackets, jeans, t-shirts,
boots, trousers and bands as there
costume in videos and live performance.

14. HAIR SLYLE AND MAKEUP
The band members of soft rock music usually have
untidy and long hairs and they use a little amount
and dull makeup for live performance or in videos.
