New Lifetime Channel “Teen Trouble” Show to Feature Copper Canyon Academy Therapeutic
Boarding School as Treatment Solution
[RIMROCK, Ariz.] -- Copper Canyon Academy, a private therapeutic boarding school for girls,is
beingfeatured as the recommended treatment center in the Friday, November 2nd
premiere of the new
“Teen Trouble” show on Lifetime network.
In the documentary series from the executive producer of Oprah and producer of Intervention, teen
expert Josh Shipp travels the nation to help families learn the tools they need to break down the barriers
and break through to their out-of-control teens. The program sets out to give hope to parents, teens,
and viewers, reminding them that it’s never too late for a teen to turn their life around.
The premiere episode features 16-year-old Chelsea. As the show’swebsite describes, “since being
adopted when she was two years old, Chelsea has battled feelings of abandonment and depression and
now self-medicates with heroin. She shoots up as many as a dozen times a day, literally taking her life in
her hands.” Chelsea’s adoptive parentsoverlooked her addiction and failed to set any ground rules,
allowing her to live in a “drug addict’s haven.”
Josh introduces the family to a former addict with a long history of abuse and personal tragedy to
illustrate the perils of long-term drug use, then suggests that Chelsea accept treatment at Copper
Canyon Academy.
