Students for 3rd level education
◦ Introduce concepts of Information Literacy and
Independent Learning
◦ Adapt content for Transition Year / Senior Cycle

 Need to standardise content and processes for
all schools
 Tangible accreditation for students
 Front load our work/involvement
 Flexibility
 Offering back to education students (Headstart / PLC
students) and secondary schools students the
opportunity to be 3rd level ready
 Aimed at varying student abilities and skills

 Introducing 3rd level learning methodologies

◦ Being able to recognise what information is needed
◦ Have the ability to locate quality information
◦ Evaluate information sources
◦ Be able to use information effectively and ethically

◦ DkIT library undertakes to educate the educators
