Today we had two sessions for advanced methods of teaching which were handled by, Kamalesh and
Selvi on ‘teaching tactics’. Kamalesh presented the whole area whereas Selvi highlighted chain learning
and concept learning. Both classes were very useful and effective. Kamalesh gave an overall view giving
illustrations which gave a clear idea on the areas. Selvi was also ready with that area. As Kamalesh had
taken the whole part, Selvi was asked to present only those areas where Kamalesh had not gone very
deep into. Selvi gave a clear idea on how chaining take place. She also gave examples and illustrations
for making concept learning structure very clear. After the presentation we gave our feedback. It is
seemed that ma’am is not satisfied with just assignments practicum and presentation. She wanted to
give more and more. I felt that I was relieved from the assignment and then I can concentrate on
practicum only. But today I was taken aback on hearing that we would be given another work which all
20 are supposed to present. When she asked whether that was ok, we all nodded our head. Our
practicum work is on progress. We all the members are collecting one or the other materials to
contribute to the work. We have collected related literature for the project. We will be soon compiling
it.
