SWOT ANALYSIS
Student E
6. Strenghts :
I have a strong reading ability. I have a degree in Computer
Science, so the rapid advances in technologies are advantages.
I have also explored some of my creative side in ceramics and
music. I have strong support from my family to continue to
completion. I am generally friendly, and always calm and
respectful. I also draw strength from my connection to the
outdoors through hiking, skiing and other pursuits. Those
activities contribute to my health and good spirits. In high
school I was on the Debate team for 2 years and lettered in the
activity.
Weaknesses :
I have not had a job with extensive management experience. I
am not currently employed full time, and that represents a
weakness in the availability of funds to continue my education.
Threats :
The lack of full time employment is a significant threat for the
continuation of my pursuing the MSPM. Besides the lack of
money beyond students loans, lack of health care coverage is a
threat. Another threat, though of lower likelihood, is a dramatic
increase of demand for pottery, leading to my being too busy to
properly attend to my studies.
Opportunities :
I am hoping that by starting this path of education I will
immediately be able to get a job or internship. There is also a
large opportunity for me to gain new abilities to work with
people in groups. My joining the PMI is an opportunity for
further information and mentoring. I will also be looking to
Cohort 15 for one or more mentors.
I have listed my unemployment as a Weakness and Threat, as it is a personal problem, and also an outside
negative influence.
