Middle and high school students are constantly connected to their mobile devices and the internet, and have grown up with portable technology. Known as the "iGeneration", these students are highly engaged with their personal digital world and plead for teachers to engage them in the classroom through technology. While some argue that heavy media multitasking is unhealthy, others believe teachers should encourage both physical and computer-based multitasking in lessons, using social networking and games as teaching tools to connect with today's students.
