1. O Comboio da Cuba
Contam os mais antigos, que no dia da inauguração da estação do caminho-de-ferro em
Cuba, quando o comboio ali parou pela primeira vez, havia uma multidão para o ver. O
maquinista aproveitou a pausa para aliviar a pressão do comboio que era a vapor.
Vendo todo aquele vapor a sair, o Presidente da Junta gritou:
- Tragam uma manta para tapar a máquina que vem suada!
E lá a cobriram, ficando para a história a frase: Joga-lhe a manta que ele vem suado!
Por isso, em Cuba não se deve perguntar pela manta pois pode ser tomado como ofensa.
The train of Cuba
The old people say that when the train stopped in Cuba for the first time, on the opening
day of the train station, there was a crowd to see it. The train mechanic took advantage
of the break to release the pressure of the steam train.
Looking at the steam the Mayor shouted:
-Bring a blanket to cover this sweaty machine!
And they covered it, giving the phrase: Throw it a blanket because it is sweaty!to
history.
For this reason, in Cuba you must never ask about a blanket because it could be taken in
offense.
