2. Cyclone Separator
• It is centrifugal or inertial separator. It depends upon centrifugal force for
its action.
• It is structure without moving parts in which a velocity of inlet gas stream
is transformed into a confined vortex from which centrifugal force tend to
drive the suspended particles to the wall of the cyclone body.
3. Cyclone Separator
• Cyclonic separation is a method of removing particulates from an air, gas or liquid
stream, without the use of filters, through vortex separation.
• When removing particulate matter from liquid, a hydrocyclone is used; while from gas, a
gas cyclone is used.
• A device that removes solids from an effluent stream (solid/liquid or solid/gas) using
gravitational settling.
