Read and interpret data from a pie chart

Solve problems in daily situation.
Read and interpret data from a pie chart.
    Example 1 :

Number of books read by four girls in a week.

                                                            Pie Chart =
                                  10% 100%
                                  Susan

                                            40%
                           30% Ah Ling
                           Aini

                                      Tan

The total number of books read by four girls is 30.
    a) What is the number of books read by Ah Ling ? (maximum)
       Step 1 :
                40 Interpret the data
       40% =
               100
       Step 2 :
         4
       10
           x 30 = 12 books
    b) What is the number of books read by Susan? (minimum)
       Step 1 :
                30
       10% =
               100
       Step 2 :
        3
       10
           x 10 = 3 books
    c) Find the difference number of books between Ah Ling and Susan. (range)
       Step 1:
               12 books – 3 books = 6 books
    d) Find the average books read by Ah Ling, Aini and Susan
       Ah Ling = 12 books
       Susan = 3 books
                Aini : Average :
                Step 1 :
                30% =
                         30 12 + 3 + 9
                        100
                                                          3
                Step 2 : = 24 ÷ 3
                 3
                10
                   x 30 = 9 books
