"It is doubtful that any child can reasonably be expected to succeed in life if he is denied the
opportunity of an education." This was announced by the U.S. Supreme Court on May 17, 1954
(Thompson, 170). It would stand to reason that to live up to this decree, the child's way of thinking,
and quite possibly life, changes in the process of gaining said education. This is especially true of a
black student attending a predominantly white school. I believe that the effect of black students
gaining an equal education as their white counterparts improved their lives in many ways. The
minority student is coming from a school that was more than likely a substandard facility that
provided students with out–dated textbooks and little, if any,...show more content...
Each person's behavior and the way they relate to others, both in public and private, demonstrates
the customs by which they were raised. Religion plays a central role in the life of Black Americans.
It is a constant characterization that gives life meaning and sustains survival efforts within the
community. The Black Church gave an outlet for a number of talented blacks to express themselves
and develop self–respect and pride (Thompson, 124). These developments were critical in preparing
a person for the experiences they have after leaving the ghettos. For example, once a young black
person enters into the mostly white school, they come to understand that there are really no
differences between each other's own religious practices. There is also the possibility that blacks
may come into contact with other Americans, such as Jewish immigrants, who have been going
through similar struggles to become respected citizens of the United States. With this knowledge
each individual has the opportunity to see that the hatred during the time not only comes down to race
but also involves any group of people who is not the majority. This is an eye–opener for anyone who
lives in their own little pocket community that does not have the ability to view how the rest of the
country is treated.

The Pros And Cons Of Education
Argument
In today's society, it is common knowledge that education is the key to success. The expectations
of every parent is for their children to have a great education so that they can ultimately succeed
in life. Children who reside in a family with both parents are more likely to have more chances of
success than the children who live in a single parent household. Thus, this raises the question: Are
children who are raised by a single parent in a low income family or a low income household more
susceptible to academic failure than their more privileged peers? Is it easy for children of low
income people to succeed at school? Can we admit that the success academic of a child is greatly

The low income family cannot provide the kids with the tools that they need to work with as
computers, books, enjoyable work places. Most of the time, the single parent with a lack of education
has multiple jobs but, still find time for the children. Lower single income parent with little
education, who have struggled with their bills need to find another job to meet expenses. In certain
cases, there are children who do not have parents that are involved in their academic life, so they turn
to the television, which is considered as their educator. Thus, the academic success of children is
based in their social location or their social class. On the other hand, children have opportunities to
succeed in a diverse learning environment. According to the Residential location choice of immigrant
parents, we come to know that the importance of school quality in residential locations increases
with household income and householder's education. In fact, the Magnet schools continue to be the
models for school improvement, but not all children are fortunate enough to get admitted.
Fortunately, these schools have enough funding to provide the students beneficial learning tools and
materials to build a successful academic foundation. Magnet schools have the ultimate goal to
eliminate, reduce, and prevent minority group isolation. They provide to the

How Education Has Changed My Life
Education has been a part of my life ever since I was born. My mother is a teacher, and I have
always been in her classroom, and seeing her teaching kids is something I feel I knew I wanted to
do ever since I was little. As I grew older, I had a rough time in school. I was identified with a
learning disability in the fourth grade which helped me become successful and also made school
difficult too. The impact education has had on my life is why I want to become a teacher.
My mother has been a teacher for over 25 years, and is still going. When I was little, around the
ages of three–four, I would go into her classroom to 'visit' her class. Even as time progressed I
would go and watch her in the classroom, and eventually went to the same school she taught at. My
mother would bring books home that she did not need anymore and other classroom supplies for
me to play school. I would play school with my imaginary students, pretending I was the teacher and
they were my 'perfect classroom of students'. My 'classroom' eventually grew into friends who would
be my students, or my teachers. Talking with individuals who had my mother as a teacher opened
my eyes to understanding what an impact a teacher has on their student.
Growing up, school was a blur to me until about grade three. About first grade, until I was in fifth, I
would go into a small reading group with other students my age. I did not think much of it, but I did
not like missing out on classroom instruction. Expressing

Education Is The Key For Success
We grow up being told education is the key to success. It 's the only thing that will guarantee a
stable happy life. The problem is that high schools are only promoting one option and failing to
prepare us for it. It 's not a bad option, despite many of us not being the ideal candidates, but it 's
also not everyone 's ideal choice. When your teacher asks for your scores the last thing you expect
to hear is, "This school cheated you." I realised I wasn 't the only one who was robbed. Despite my
scores another teacher kept stressing how necessary it was for me to apply to universities. She
encouraged me by letting me know her scores were worse, butshe was accepted into my dream
school. I had originally planned to attend a community college and transfer in the future. I knew I
didn 't qualify for financial aid and I wouldn 't meet the requirements for scholarships, nor the
deadlines for them. I was a student–athlete involved in several other extracurricular activities, I
hardly had time to eat or sleep. Add last minute applications to my plate, top that with upcoming
finals. I did not have time to write about what I would use for self–defence during a zombie
apocalypse in hopes of receiving two–hundred dollars. Just a very small fraction of what I would
need to pay in the future. She said community college was beneath me and I would become stuck
there. If I didn 't apply to universities she would fail me, thus I would not receive my diploma or be

How Education Has Impacted My Life Essay
What is education? According to Webster's Dictionary education is defined as, (noun) 1: the action
or process of being educating or of being educated, 2: the field of study that deals mainly with
methods of teaching and learning in schools. What does education provide for us? How important is
education in today's society?
Education is the very foundation in which we as individuals grow, and formulate the knowledge we
gain through life into meaningful ways of adapting to the world.
Education is very important in the sense that in today's society, there is not much success without
education. Education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. It gives us the ability to enhance our
perception of the world as we see it, and construct our...show more content...
Up until I got into high school. I actually enjoyed school prior to my transition into high school. I
was a B student and quite happy with a 3.0 GPA. At the time, I really did not give my education
much thought. In other words, I did not think about my future then, and education had little value
in the great scheme of life. However, I still enjoyed school, and had perfect attendance not missing
a day unless it was absolutely a must. Unless I had a rare case of some unforeseen sickness as to
keep from infecting others with some viscous illness I was suffering from at the time. It was not
until I made the big move into that hierarchy of education that really changed my mind. This new
experience of education was so different, so terrifying, so difficult, and overwhelming that I felt
there was nothing else to do, but stop attending. I failed so miserably bad it cracked and crumbled
the very foundation in which I spent the last nine years constructing. Without this foundation, I was
nothing, I was stupid, and had nothing to offer.
This caused much heartache for several years to come. This also triggered the biggest regret of my
entire life, along with feeding a horrible addiction that began with marijuana and ended with
methamphetamines. Had I stayed in the game, and not thrown in the towel, I would have
graduated a year ahead of all my friends. I would have been primed and ready for the world at the
ripe age of seventeen. This sent me into an

Essay on Education Is Not the Key to Success
About 20 years ago, education was something that a person did only if he/she wanted to.
Unfortunately, as the years went by, the idea of "Education is the key to success" got more, and
more enforced. People eventually started to believe that education was the single way to succeed,
and the only thing needed for success. Despite the fact, many Americans believe a college degree
will lead them to be successful, in reality, education is not the solitary way to succeed. Not
everybody can receive an education, or even an excellent education from a "decent academic"
college/university. "There are many students who have no desire to attend college and who would be
much better off if they...show more content...
Education or book learning had nothing to do with the success of those people that chose to take
another path rather than the typical one (education). People can be successful in any field with
the right skills. Book learning has a lot to do with the knowledge a person has, but not with the
skills a person has. There are many A+ graduates out there that cannot get a job, or are stuck
working at a place that had nothing to do with their degree. A numerous amount of students in
college care more about grades than knowledge; some graduate having forgotten everything they
ever learned. So there goes a college graduate with little knowledge and no skills. Can a person
like that succeed? No. That's why education is not the key to success. People cannot just go to
college and expect that passing classes will get them to succeed. The main thing a person needs in
order to succeed is drive, motivation and passion. He/she has to know what their end goal is and
what they need to do to get it. "Commit to the achievement of the elusive goal in your life"
(Arcement, 101). The person has to go about learning what skills will take her or him to be
successful. One of the main skills a person should have is persistence. A person must always keep
going after his or her goal even if it takes

Qualities Of A Successful Student
Qualities of a Successful Student
"Success is not an accident, it is hard work, perseverance, learning studying, sacrifice and most of
all, love of what you are doing "– PelГ©, soccer legend
Success isn't something you can frame on the wall. It is not something that you can attain one time
and then discards it as being accomplished. It is not gifted to anyone; its hard work which leads to
success because of determination. This is not a social status, no is it due to the amount of money
you make, neither is based on how many languages you speak or how many business you may own.

Lapses in organization, unfortunately can lead to penalties with grades and a self–confidence which
can lead to less success. "Self–discipline is self–caring "– Dr. M. Scott Peck. (American
psychiatrist).Success takes self–discipline, which is the willingness to do whatever has to be done,
whether you feel like it or not. Most students want to be successful but wanting and doing are two
worlds apart. Self–discipline is more commitment. Stay focused and be persistent are important
factors that lead any student to become successful.
Successful students know when to ask for help. Students recognize when they need help when some
projects are due on the same day as an exam. Again, students who procrastinate and don't have their
academic activities organized tend to fail. Students who struggle with some courser or some specific
projects stay late or visit their instructor after class regarding to the project. Students do their best to
clarify their mind if their instructor cannot help as much as they wanted to, they follow the next step,
and they go and ask for private tutoring. Most of the institutions offer programs to help students who
are struggling in anyway. The mission of every college or university is to help students to cross the
comfort zone by challenging them to use the resources that the school offered to increase their
education level, maturity level and commitment to perform college work.

Education Makes Life Better! Essay
Acquiring education is one of the most critical aspects of a person's life. It should be seen as vital
as the air we breathe. The key to a healthy mind and a successful person is learning. "Without
education, you're not going anywhere in this world" is a famous quote by Malcolm X. His quote
reiterates that the competitive world makes it essential for us to have a proper education since it will
serve as our weapon to conquer the world. Education will help a person grow as an individual
because a highly knowledgeable person will have a better grip on handling any problem that
comes his or her way. Literacy is the foundation of what we are as individuals. Every decision we
make, as well as our thought process, is the basis of what we know....show more content...
The lack of motivation and family values, as well as student responsibility, has created this crisis in
the education system. In addition, insufficient funding of schools along with quality teachers that are
retiring are some of the problems we encounter in the education system. In some parts of the United
States, there is a lack of adequate access to materials for reading and writing due to budget
constraints. In Allen D. Kanner's article, "Today's Class Brought to You By..." he mentioned that
with the baby boomers retiring, and a high turnover among new teachers, who are asked to teach
subjects they are not properly trained for, are causing difficult classroom situations (280). Similarly,
Governor Jerry Brown's statement last January 11 pointed out that K–12 education has 'borne the
brunt' of the state's budget cuts with more than $18 billion in cuts over the last three years. This
resulted in larger class sizes, programs are cut, and over 30,000 educators laid off. These teachers
are very valuable in our society because they provide our youth with the knowledge and social
experiences that they will use to better their future and the future of the entire world. As a student, I
have suffered the consequences of triple digit fee increases and the lack of available classes offered.
The high cost of education has put the burden not only on the students, and many of their parents,
but educators, as

Education Improve The Quality Of Life Essay
"How does Education Improve the Quality of one's Life?"
Introduction
Numerous studies have linked good education with a quality life. Their argument is that with a
good education, a person can generally assume all the comforts and associations of life. According
to UN, quality of life is a greatly subjective measure of happiness that is a significant component of
numerous monetary decisions (Michalos, 2017). Numerous factors that play a part excellence of life
vary according to a person's preferences. The factors include being financially secure, having job
satisfaction, leading a healthy life as well as being safe. All these, with quality education, they can be
accomplished, since education is an informative engagement in all aspects of life.
Education improves health and well–being of a person which is a measure of quality of life
It is important to note that education does not act on the well–being of a person in segregation from
other elements. Financial power is another significant element that interacts in numerous vital ways
with education as stimuli on well–being(Michalos, 2017). Nevertheless, education is of equal
significance.
Studies have shown that individuals with extra years of education tend to have better fitness and
well–being as well as healthier conducts. Learning is a significant mechanism for improving the
fitness and also the well–being of persons as it minimizes the desire for medical care, the allied
costs of dependency, lost remuneration as well as

The Key to Success in Life Essay
Famous spiritual leader and philosopher Swami Vivekananda, once said the way to success is to
"Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the
brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other
idea alone." To me this quote embodies what is it takes to be successful. Much like a marathon the
goal isn't to come in first place and win but to simply finish and to do that you have to want to
keep going, the pace at which you do so is irrelevant as long as you finish. Success has no definite
definition like love it has many different meanings and holds true to different things for different
people. Although society has its claims on what...show more content...
The only guidelines this "10,000 hour rule" falls under in terms of success is the dedication put
forth. Gladwell exclaims that "Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do
that makes you good." If you are willing and able to practice something for 10,000 hours you
have shown an immense amount of dedication already therefore in a way becoming in Gladwell's
eyes successful. I believe that success is different for everyone. To say that doing 10,000 hours of
something will make you successful is irrational much like love you can't measure success under
such terms. To some doing something for 5 hours is enough to personally fulfill their their goal and
happiness. In my opinion looking from a younger generations eyes this is setting up for
disappointment and failure to tell someone they can only be truly successful at something is if they
practicing for 10,000 is insane. Although there is much truth to this, the reality is most people don't
set out to be the greatest of all time but the greatest in their hearts and perhaps practicing for just 2
hours a day for a month is enough for them to appreciate what they have done or learned. Although it
can be argued that children with a better upbringing may be able to reach success because they were
taught to not always accept the answer "no", does not mean other children can not reach success. A
study that Gladwell bought up in his book the Outliers, shows that children

Motivation Is A Key For Success Essay
Running head: MOTIVATION A KEY FOR SUCCESS FOR EDUCATIONAL LEADERS1
MOTIVATION: A KEY FOR SUCCESS FOR EDUCATIONAL LEADERS `6
Motivation: A Key for Success for Educational Leaders
David Smith
Liberty University
Thesis
The problem for educational leaders is that motivation is the key to success in the education setting
and not everyone has this motivation. Effective educational leaders need to motivate people by using
extrinsic motivation while treating everyone fairly, not showing favoritism, and still following God's
plan and the Bible.
Introduction
One of the most essential topics in ethics delves into motivation and how it can be used while
showing fairness and being Biblically and legally...show more content...
Extrinsic motivation provides a way leaders can use external sources that motivates each
individual by providing them positive reinforcement. The societal issue with motivation is that it
can result in an expectation for the individual while others could look at it as favoritism. Legal
issues can be seen in constitutional law and educational law; "Yet laws are passed and
administrative acts undertaken that fairly cry out for invalidation but cannot be declared
unconstitutional without referring to motivation." (Ely, p.1207) Looking at it Biblically, as
Christians we need to be motivated by God who provides heavenly rewards rather than things which
provide worldly rewards. "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work"
(John 4:34).
Motivation
The ultimate goal as an educational leader is to be effective in teaching the people we work with to
have self–determination and self–motivation and this paper will show how using extrinsic
motivation can lead to self–motivation. "Let's define leadership as actions that result in the
improvement of organizations through positive modeling, positive motivation, and the
implementation of specific initiatives" (LeTellier, p.1.) This quote speaks volumes to the keys to
success for leaders many, which were discussed throughout the course, and it includes motivation.
"Sources of influence that not only exert a powerful influence on people; they also bring glory to
God in the process"

Education Is The Key To Success In Life
Everyone is born different no matter where you go or you stand in life. Having learning, creativity
doesn't make you any difference everyone has a creativity in different ways, for example, touching,
visual learner, and abstract. On the video Ken Robinson Worth Speaking has spoken many
reasonable things that we like human sometimes have or see it in other people. Education is important
I strongly agree because education is the key to success in life and have a career. Being wrong or
right doesn't mean we fail in life because everyone in any age makes mistakes and learns from them.
Learning disabilities in people doesn't make you look different you just learn in a divergent way.
Having to learn in a different way than others doesn't make you any dissimilar from everyone that
has different method to learn, just like in the video of Ken Robinson that stated the ways of learning
creativity. For example, my 11–year–old sister has a learning, creativity where she must feel things
to be able to understand what she is learning. I don't see it as an unsatisfactory to her learning
because there's just many ways for people to learn just like Ken Robinson said everyone is
different. Everywhere you go education will always be the same because no matter where you live
they have the same standards to educations to lead you to a job. Being a bilingual learner and

Literacy Is The Key For Future Success Essay
Literacy is the key to future success. We have all heard this clichГ©, but as a future English
teacher I passionately believe literacy is the key to success! When students become good readers,
the door to a world of information is opened, and I want to see that door open for my students. As
an English teacher who would like to work at the middle school level, I know the value of literacy
and I hope to promote the best literacy practices in my classroom. This will not be an easy task, as
reading scores for seventeen years olds have remained unchanged in over thirty years. (Fisher &
Frey, 2012) At the secondary level students continuously fail to make significant progress in reading
and writing, and I believe this is impart because of the changing curricular demands and because
students are not developing an identity as readers and writers. (Biancarosa & Snow, 2004)
As students progress through their education they are met with an increasing demand to read
non–fiction works. These non–fiction texts provide challenges that were not presented in their
earlier experiences with reading. Biancarosa calls this the transition from learning to read to reading
to learn. (Biancaros, 2012) As a middle school teacher I must provide the additional support that my
students will need to transition to the literacy demands of high school. I believe that to scaffold
non–fiction text, students must learn to self–regulate their reading. As an English teacher, I need to
educate my students

Attitude Is the Key to Success
ATTITUDE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedom– to choose one's
attitude in any given set of circumstances" – Viktor E. Frankl
A very simple but true saying is that the only thing you can't take away from me is the way I choose
to respond to what you do to me. The last of the human freedom is the power to choose one's attitude
in any given circumstance and seemingly hopeless environment.
The important question is what is attitude? Attitude is the way we mentally look at the world around
us and act so. A well researched book "Emotional Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman brings the
scientific proof that "its our attitude more than aptitude that determines our altitude."...show more

Attitude is often based on past experiences. So most of the times, we get stuck because of the bad
experiences we went through. Old tapes are hard to erase but for success one should make a
deliberate effort to approach each situation with a fresh and positive outlook. Whatever challenges
are to be faced, focus on the future and not on the history.
These are some of the ways of incorporating positive attitudes to get success in life. * Expect the
best, Focus on what's right, not what's wrong. To reinforce the positive attitude in others, use
every opportunity to encourage desired behaviour. * Observe how our own attitude affects those
around us. The attitude of the individual often determines the attitude of a group. * Do we enjoy
our job? Are we spending most of our time on something that makes us feel purposeful and
fulfilled. If not consider exploring other career options and moving towards a job we love. When
we regularly do things that make us happy, we feel better about ourselves and our own life which
fosters positive attitude. * Think and speak positively to and about ourself everyday. Most of us are
in the habit of talking down to ourselves, which leaves us feeling hopeless, frustrated and pessimistic.
Get into the habit of building onself up with positive self–talk and positive thoughts. * The more we
focus on emphasizing the positive in others the more likeable we are going to be,

The Importance Of Success : The Key To Success
"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone" (Cosby).

starting to come together. I once gave up on life. I was a high school dropout with no education.
What inspired me to go back to school to receive my GED/Diploma was when I realized that I

David Wallace continues to state that life after college and different things you thought were
successful are now becoming a nightmare. "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson is based off a group
of people from a village that use to set laws that came from a tradition. In this community a person
would get stoned to death if they received a piece of paper with a black dot. How can anyone be
successful in a community if individuals are killing someone as a sacrifice each year? It just
makes a person feel hopeless. You cannot be successful if you are always surrounded by the
wrong people. Under those circumstances, as an adult your life will come with many needs and
wants. As an adult you will feel the need to get a good paying job to support your family. Putting
the things you need in life first will help you focus on how to better your family life. Trying to
help people who always cry for help will only stop you from succeeding. It is best to make sure
your household is taken care of before you decide to help other people. In order to reach your
goals in life, you need to avoid all things that could prevent it from happening. In effect goals and
success in life have a big impact on the community. Maybe you could be someone's inspiration.

Key to Success in Life
"Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their

Do you agree with this quotation? Thai society believes that education is the key to make them or
their child success in their life. It's true but not totally true. Education is one part of successful. It's
not the whole thing to make us success.
Most of Thai parents will support or coerce their child to study in famous school such as Triam
Udom Suksa School, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School and Satriwitaya
School which they trust that this academic can make their child smarter than other students and they
will have more chance to achieve in admission. Another belief of them is encouraging their child to
study in top three private universities in Thailand as Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn
University and Kasertsart University because it can lead student to find better career so they will
have greater future than student who graduate from public university.
Moreover, most of us believe that the higher education degree you have the greater accomplishment
you will. However, it has someone who doesn't have a chance to study in university because they
are poor so they need to work so hard to find money to stay alive.
As I mention at first that education is not the whole thing to make our life success. Why? Because
some of achievement people don't graduate from private university and some of them have the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Education
Education is undeniably vital and essential for people from all walks of life. Education is the key
to success, and as we all know it, there are too many reason why education is important in our lives
but none on the disadvantages of it because education only brings benefits towards us. According to
Oxford Dictionary, the word 'education' is derived from Latin, Д“ducДЃtiЕЌ in the mid–16th century
and is defined as "the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or
university." The origin of education began as story–telling passed knowledge and now it has taken
up to 3 forms of education which is; formal education, informal education and non–formal education.
Formal education is a planned education system in a...show more content...
Students are often heard whining to their parents about school and finding a thousand and one
excuses not to go to school but as little as we realize, schools actually help build our character and
leads us to our career progression. An educated individual is capable of planning for the future,
choosing the right decisions in life and behaving appropriately. Education is not only a pathway to
our career but also paves the path to disillusionment. It gives us the insight on what is right and
wrong, making clear judgements and shapes our personalities. The nation's growth depends on the
literacy of the people. "Education is much more than an entry to the job market. It has the power to
shape a sustainable future and better world." (Unknown, 2012) With the help of education, one can
easily get an entry of a job while at the same time help develop the nation. Most countries realized
that in this competitive world, education is important for the social progress and economic growth
of a nation. As John F. Kennedy quotes, "our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress
in education. The human mind is our fundamental resource." In simple words, brain beats brawn,
which is used to define a country. A country with no education cannot win over a country with
enhanced technology and strategic

During my K–12 education I feel that it taught me how to fake it until I make it. You think school
teaches you how to be an adult in the real world but it only teaches you how to be complaint. I
never really thought about what I gained as a member of society. I think school tried to teach me
where my place is. I learned how even though this is 2017 and women don't have to sit and look
pretty, students are expected to sit and look pretty so to speak. For 12 years to earn a piece of
paper I learned that I am expected to follow traditional rules and methods. I am expected to do as
my teacher says because their title is teacher that means according to society they are smarter and
better than you. I learned that my opinion and my thoughts have no merit compared to people with
more experience. So thank you to 12 years of sitting in a class for 8 hours everyday to learn how to
fake compliance.
In the Working class schools, Knowledge was described as a set of facts to be learned. Creativity
was not important enough to be incorporated into the curriculum. During Elementary and Middle
school we were taught to sit still and memorize facts, information and that there is one way of doing
things, the teachers way. This form of education teachers individuals to follow other people's way of
thinking and behaving. This is how schools prepare the future workforce population to follow the
leader. In this type of setting students aren't taught to think for themselves or solve problems with
new ways of thinking or unconventional methods. Teachers want you to be compliant and those who
resist are perceived as a somehow less functioning member of society.Students act out and refuse to
do the tasks given to them in class not because they don't want to learn but because the teachers
aren't teaching them. So people who refuse to accept the Hidden curriculum integrated in our
education are perceived as drop outs, stupid, bad kids instead of being seen as kids looking to be
taught not going to school and memorize what is already written. In the Middle class school,
knowledge was presented as understanding curricular material. There was less fact memorization
and an encouragement for students to understand the content of the

Education Is The Key To Success In Life Essay

  • 1. "It is doubtful that any child can reasonably be expected to succeed in life if he is denied the opportunity of an education." This was announced by the U.S. Supreme Court on May 17, 1954 (Thompson, 170). It would stand to reason that to live up to this decree, the child's way of thinking, and quite possibly life, changes in the process of gaining said education. This is especially true of a black student attending a predominantly white school. I believe that the effect of black students gaining an equal education as their white counterparts improved their lives in many ways. The minority student is coming from a school that was more than likely a substandard facility that provided students with out–dated textbooks and little, if any,...show more content... Each person's behavior and the way they relate to others, both in public and private, demonstrates the customs by which they were raised. Religion plays a central role in the life of Black Americans. It is a constant characterization that gives life meaning and sustains survival efforts within the community. The Black Church gave an outlet for a number of talented blacks to express themselves and develop self–respect and pride (Thompson, 124). These developments were critical in preparing a person for the experiences they have after leaving the ghettos. For example, once a young black person enters into the mostly white school, they come to understand that there are really no differences between each other's own religious practices. There is also the possibility that blacks may come into contact with other Americans, such as Jewish immigrants, who have been going through similar struggles to become respected citizens of the United States. With this knowledge each individual has the opportunity to see that the hatred during the time not only comes down to race but also involves any group of people who is not the majority. This is an eye–opener for anyone who lives in their own little pocket community that does not have the ability to view how the rest of the country is treated. Monetary wealth is a major component of the fight for equality. "The concentration of male Negro employment at the lowest end of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Pros And Cons Of Education Argument In today's society, it is common knowledge that education is the key to success. The expectations of every parent is for their children to have a great education so that they can ultimately succeed in life. Children who reside in a family with both parents are more likely to have more chances of success than the children who live in a single parent household. Thus, this raises the question: Are children who are raised by a single parent in a low income family or a low income household more susceptible to academic failure than their more privileged peers? Is it easy for children of low income people to succeed at school? Can we admit that the success academic of a child is greatly depends on the school choice and the economic...show more content... The low income family cannot provide the kids with the tools that they need to work with as computers, books, enjoyable work places. Most of the time, the single parent with a lack of education has multiple jobs but, still find time for the children. Lower single income parent with little education, who have struggled with their bills need to find another job to meet expenses. In certain cases, there are children who do not have parents that are involved in their academic life, so they turn to the television, which is considered as their educator. Thus, the academic success of children is based in their social location or their social class. On the other hand, children have opportunities to succeed in a diverse learning environment. According to the Residential location choice of immigrant parents, we come to know that the importance of school quality in residential locations increases with household income and householder's education. In fact, the Magnet schools continue to be the models for school improvement, but not all children are fortunate enough to get admitted. Fortunately, these schools have enough funding to provide the students beneficial learning tools and materials to build a successful academic foundation. Magnet schools have the ultimate goal to eliminate, reduce, and prevent minority group isolation. They provide to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. How Education Has Changed My Life Education has been a part of my life ever since I was born. My mother is a teacher, and I have always been in her classroom, and seeing her teaching kids is something I feel I knew I wanted to do ever since I was little. As I grew older, I had a rough time in school. I was identified with a learning disability in the fourth grade which helped me become successful and also made school difficult too. The impact education has had on my life is why I want to become a teacher. My mother has been a teacher for over 25 years, and is still going. When I was little, around the ages of three–four, I would go into her classroom to 'visit' her class. Even as time progressed I would go and watch her in the classroom, and eventually went to the same school she taught at. My mother would bring books home that she did not need anymore and other classroom supplies for me to play school. I would play school with my imaginary students, pretending I was the teacher and they were my 'perfect classroom of students'. My 'classroom' eventually grew into friends who would be my students, or my teachers. Talking with individuals who had my mother as a teacher opened my eyes to understanding what an impact a teacher has on their student. Growing up, school was a blur to me until about grade three. About first grade, until I was in fifth, I would go into a small reading group with other students my age. I did not think much of it, but I did not like missing out on classroom instruction. • 4. Education Is The Key For Success We grow up being told education is the key to success. It 's the only thing that will guarantee a stable happy life. The problem is that high schools are only promoting one option and failing to prepare us for it. It 's not a bad option, despite many of us not being the ideal candidates, but it 's also not everyone 's ideal choice. When your teacher asks for your scores the last thing you expect to hear is, "This school cheated you." I realised I wasn 't the only one who was robbed. Despite my scores another teacher kept stressing how necessary it was for me to apply to universities. She encouraged me by letting me know her scores were worse, butshe was accepted into my dream school. I had originally planned to attend a community college and transfer in the future. I knew I didn 't qualify for financial aid and I wouldn 't meet the requirements for scholarships, nor the deadlines for them. I was a student–athlete involved in several other extracurricular activities, I hardly had time to eat or sleep. Add last minute applications to my plate, top that with upcoming finals. I did not have time to write about what I would use for self–defence during a zombie apocalypse in hopes of receiving two–hundred dollars. Just a very small fraction of what I would need to pay in the future. She said community college was beneath me and I would become stuck there. If I didn 't apply to universities she would fail me, thus I would not receive my diploma or be able to continue Get more content on HelpWriting.net

According to Webster's Dictionary education is defined as, (noun) 1: the action or process of being educating or of being educated, 2: the field of study that deals mainly with methods of teaching and learning in schools. What does education provide for us? How important is education in today's society? Education is the very foundation in which we as individuals grow, and formulate the knowledge we gain through life into meaningful ways of adapting to the world. Education is very important in the sense that in today's society, there is not much success without education. Education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. I actually enjoyed school prior to my transition into high school. I was a B student and quite happy with a 3.0 GPA. At the time, I really did not give my education much thought. In other words, I did not think about my future then, and education had little value in the great scheme of life. However, I still enjoyed school, and had perfect attendance not missing a day unless it was absolutely a must. Unless I had a rare case of some unforeseen sickness as to keep from infecting others with some viscous illness I was suffering from at the time. It was not until I made the big move into that hierarchy of education that really changed my mind. This new experience of education was so different, so terrifying, so difficult, and overwhelming that I felt there was nothing else to do, but stop attending. I failed so miserably bad it cracked and crumbled the very foundation in which I spent the last nine years constructing. Without this foundation, I was nothing, I was stupid, and had nothing to offer. This caused much heartache for several years to come. This also triggered the biggest regret of my entire life, along with feeding a horrible addiction that began with marijuana and ended with methamphetamines. Had I stayed in the game, and not thrown in the towel, I would have graduated a year ahead of all my friends. I would have been primed and ready for the world at the ripe age of seventeen. • 6. Essay on Education Is Not the Key to Success About 20 years ago, education was something that a person did only if he/she wanted to. Unfortunately, as the years went by, the idea of "Education is the key to success" got more, and more enforced. People eventually started to believe that education was the single way to succeed, and the only thing needed for success. Despite the fact, many Americans believe a college degree will lead them to be successful, in reality, education is not the solitary way to succeed. Not everybody can receive an education, or even an excellent education from a "decent academic" college/university. "There are many students who have no desire to attend college and who would be much better off if they...show more content... Education or book learning had nothing to do with the success of those people that chose to take another path rather than the typical one (education). People can be successful in any field with the right skills. Book learning has a lot to do with the knowledge a person has, but not with the skills a person has. There are many A+ graduates out there that cannot get a job, or are stuck working at a place that had nothing to do with their degree. A numerous amount of students in college care more about grades than knowledge; some graduate having forgotten everything they ever learned. So there goes a college graduate with little knowledge and no skills. Can a person like that succeed? No. That's why education is not the key to success. People cannot just go to college and expect that passing classes will get them to succeed. The main thing a person needs in order to succeed is drive, motivation and passion. He/she has to know what their end goal is and what they need to do to get it. "Commit to the achievement of the elusive goal in your life" (Arcement, 101). Most students want to be successful but wanting and doing are two worlds apart. Self–discipline is more commitment. Stay focused and be persistent are important factors that lead any student to become successful. Successful students know when to ask for help. Students recognize when they need help when some projects are due on the same day as an exam. Again, students who procrastinate and don't have their academic activities organized tend to fail. Students who struggle with some courser or some specific projects stay late or visit their instructor after class regarding to the project. • 8. Education Makes Life Better! Essay Acquiring education is one of the most critical aspects of a person's life. It should be seen as vital as the air we breathe. The key to a healthy mind and a successful person is learning. "Without education, you're not going anywhere in this world" is a famous quote by Malcolm X. His quote reiterates that the competitive world makes it essential for us to have a proper education since it will serve as our weapon to conquer the world. The lack of motivation and family values, as well as student responsibility, has created this crisis in the education system. In addition, insufficient funding of schools along with quality teachers that are retiring are some of the problems we encounter in the education system. In some parts of the United States, there is a lack of adequate access to materials for reading and writing due to budget constraints. In Allen D. Kanner's article, "Today's Class Brought to You By..." he mentioned that with the baby boomers retiring, and a high turnover among new teachers, who are asked to teach subjects they are not properly trained for, are causing difficult classroom situations (280). Similarly, Governor Jerry Brown's statement last January 11 pointed out that K–12 education has 'borne the brunt' of the state's budget cuts with more than $18 billion in cuts over the last three years. This resulted in larger class sizes, programs are cut, and over 30,000 educators laid off. These teachers are very valuable in our society because they provide our youth with the knowledge and social experiences that they will use to better their future and the future of the entire world. Their argument is that with a good education, a person can generally assume all the comforts and associations of life. According to UN, quality of life is a greatly subjective measure of happiness that is a significant component of numerous monetary decisions (Michalos, 2017). Numerous factors that play a part excellence of life vary according to a person's preferences. The factors include being financially secure, having job satisfaction, leading a healthy life as well as being safe. All these, with quality education, they can be accomplished, since education is an informative engagement in all aspects of life. Education improves health and well–being of a person which is a measure of quality of life It is important to note that education does not act on the well–being of a person in segregation from other elements. Financial power is another significant element that interacts in numerous vital ways with education as stimuli on well–being(Michalos, 2017). Nevertheless, education is of equal significance. Studies have shown that individuals with extra years of education tend to have better fitness and well–being as well as healthier conducts. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone." To me this quote embodies what is it takes to be successful. Much like a marathon the goal isn't to come in first place and win but to simply finish and to do that you have to want to keep going, the pace at which you do so is irrelevant as long as you finish. The only guidelines this "10,000 hour rule" falls under in terms of success is the dedication put forth. Gladwell exclaims that "Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good." If you are willing and able to practice something for 10,000 hours you have shown an immense amount of dedication already therefore in a way becoming in Gladwell's eyes successful. I believe that success is different for everyone. To say that doing 10,000 hours of something will make you successful is irrational much like love you can't measure success under such terms. To some doing something for 5 hours is enough to personally fulfill their their goal and happiness. In my opinion looking from a younger generations eyes this is setting up for disappointment and failure to tell someone they can only be truly successful at something is if they practicing for 10,000 is insane. Although there is much truth to this, the reality is most people don't set out to be the greatest of all time but the greatest in their hearts and perhaps practicing for just 2 hours a day for a month is enough for them to appreciate what they have done or learned. Although it can be argued that children with a better upbringing may be able to reach success because they were taught to not always accept the answer "no", does not mean other children can not reach success. Effective educational leaders need to motivate people by using extrinsic motivation while treating everyone fairly, not showing favoritism, and still following God's plan and the Bible. Extrinsic motivation provides a way leaders can use external sources that motivates each individual by providing them positive reinforcement. The societal issue with motivation is that it can result in an expectation for the individual while others could look at it as favoritism. Legal issues can be seen in constitutional law and educational law; "Yet laws are passed and administrative acts undertaken that fairly cry out for invalidation but cannot be declared unconstitutional without referring to motivation." (Ely, p.1207) Looking at it Biblically, as Christians we need to be motivated by God who provides heavenly rewards rather than things which provide worldly rewards. "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work" (John 4:34). Motivation The ultimate goal as an educational leader is to be effective in teaching the people we work with to have self–determination and self–motivation and this paper will show how using extrinsic motivation can lead to self–motivation. "Let's define leadership as actions that result in the improvement of organizations through positive modeling, positive motivation, and the implementation of specific initiatives" (LeTellier, p.1.) Having learning, creativity doesn't make you any difference everyone has a creativity in different ways, for example, touching, visual learner, and abstract. On the video Ken Robinson Worth Speaking has spoken many reasonable things that we like human sometimes have or see it in other people. Education is important I strongly agree because education is the key to success in life and have a career. Being wrong or right doesn't mean we fail in life because everyone in any age makes mistakes and learns from them. Learning disabilities in people doesn't make you look different you just learn in a divergent way. Having to learn in a different way than others doesn't make you any dissimilar from everyone that has different method to learn, just like in the video of Ken Robinson that stated the ways of learning creativity. For example, my 11–year–old sister has a learning, creativity where she must feel things to be able to understand what she is learning. I don't see it as an unsatisfactory to her learning because there's just many ways for people to learn just like Ken Robinson said everyone is different. Everywhere you go education will always be the same because no matter where you live they have the same standards to educations to lead you to a job. • 13. Literacy Is The Key For Future Success Essay Literacy is the key to future success. We have all heard this clichГ©, but as a future English teacher I passionately believe literacy is the key to success! When students become good readers, the door to a world of information is opened, and I want to see that door open for my students. As an English teacher who would like to work at the middle school level, I know the value of literacy and I hope to promote the best literacy practices in my classroom. This will not be an easy task, as reading scores for seventeen years olds have remained unchanged in over thirty years. (Fisher & Frey, 2012) At the secondary level students continuously fail to make significant progress in reading and writing, and I believe this is impart because of the changing curricular demands and because students are not developing an identity as readers and writers. (Biancarosa & Snow, 2004) As students progress through their education they are met with an increasing demand to read non–fiction works. These non–fiction texts provide challenges that were not presented in their earlier experiences with reading. Biancarosa calls this the transition from learning to read to reading to learn. (Biancaros, 2012) As a middle school teacher I must provide the additional support that my students will need to transition to the literacy demands of high school. I believe that to scaffold non–fiction text, students must learn to self–regulate their reading. As an English teacher, I need to educate my students Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Attitude Is the Key to Success ATTITUDE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS "Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedom– to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances" – Viktor E. Frankl A very simple but true saying is that the only thing you can't take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of the human freedom is the power to choose one's attitude in any given circumstance and seemingly hopeless environment. The important question is what is attitude? Attitude is the way we mentally look at the world around us and act so. A well researched book "Emotional Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman brings the scientific proof that "its our attitude more than aptitude that determines our altitude."...show more content... Attitude is often based on past experiences. So most of the times, we get stuck because of the bad experiences we went through. Old tapes are hard to erase but for success one should make a deliberate effort to approach each situation with a fresh and positive outlook. Whatever challenges are to be faced, focus on the future and not on the history. These are some of the ways of incorporating positive attitudes to get success in life. * Expect the best, Focus on what's right, not what's wrong. To reinforce the positive attitude in others, use every opportunity to encourage desired behaviour. * Observe how our own attitude affects those around us. The attitude of the individual often determines the attitude of a group. * Do we enjoy our job? Are we spending most of our time on something that makes us feel purposeful and fulfilled. If not consider exploring other career options and moving towards a job we love. When we regularly do things that make us happy, we feel better about ourselves and our own life which fosters positive attitude. * Think and speak positively to and about ourself everyday. Most of us are in the habit of talking down to ourselves, which leaves us feeling hopeless, frustrated and pessimistic. Get into the habit of building onself up with positive self–talk and positive thoughts. * The more we focus on emphasizing the positive in others the more likeable we are going to be, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world;" this simple statement by South Africa's first democratically elected president, Nelson Mandela, expresses a fundamental truth of the world– something as simple as education can change everything. A constantly changing geopolitical environment has continued to place increasing amounts of emphasis on obtaining a post–secondary school education. Despite this, as many as 16% of all Americans ages 16–24 drop out before completing a secondary school education and obtaining a diploma.(1) The question which few dare to consider, which I now find myself faced with, is simple: how my education is the key to a successful future. To completely grasp the extent which my ...show more content... What my education will culminate in is making me aware of all that goes on around me, both directly and indirectly, and the reasoning and motivations behind it. During my career as an Army officer I will be faced with decisions that will put men and women's lives in danger; there will be no room for hesitation, never will I be able to ask, "Why am I doing this?" By obtaining a premium education, by understanding the reasoning behind what I do, I will be able to quickly and confidently assess any situation and make decisions that will further the goals of democracy and peace. "I am a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice for it, because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion." With this simple statement Mia Hamm exemplifies the importance of considering one's self as part of the group rather than a stand alone individual. In accordance with this, assessing how my education is the key to a successful future must not be limited to my individual future, but rather to how my education will benefit society as a whole. A powerfulhigh school education, one which allows for the discovery of the operational parameters of society, which enumerates cultural misunderstandings and fosters understanding, is the first step. • 16. The Importance Of Success : The Key To Success "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone" (Cosby). Giving up is like going from walking to now using a wheelchair. When I was a child, I wanted to find my purpose as being an adult. Now that I am older the missing pieces to my puzzle are starting to come together. I once gave up on life. I was a high school dropout with no education. What inspired me to go back to school to receive my GED/Diploma was when I realized that I could not be successful in life without an education. The reason I dropped out of high school was due to me hanging around the wrong crowd of friends. The type of friends I hung around did not want anything out of life. David Wallace continues to state that life after college and different things you thought were successful are now becoming a nightmare. "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson is based off a group of people from a village that use to set laws that came from a tradition. In this community a person would get stoned to death if they received a piece of paper with a black dot. How can anyone be successful in a community if individuals are killing someone as a sacrifice each year? It just makes a person feel hopeless. You cannot be successful if you are always surrounded by the wrong people. Under those circumstances, as an adult your life will come with many needs and wants. As an adult you will feel the need to get a good paying job to support your family. Putting the things you need in life first will help you focus on how to better your family life. Trying to help people who always cry for help will only stop you from succeeding. It is best to make sure your household is taken care of before you decide to help other people. In order to reach your goals in life, you need to avoid all things that could prevent it from happening. In effect goals and success in life have a big impact on the community. Maybe you could be someone's inspiration. Someone may be in need of help with school work. If they ask for advice, it would be best to help that student out. Thai society believes that education is the key to make them or their child success in their life. It's true but not totally true. Education is one part of successful. It's not the whole thing to make us success. Most of Thai parents will support or coerce their child to study in famous school such as Triam Udom Suksa School, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School and Satriwitaya School which they trust that this academic can make their child smarter than other students and they will have more chance to achieve in admission. Another belief of them is encouraging their child to study in top three private universities in Thailand as Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University and Kasertsart University because it can lead student to find better career so they will have greater future than student who graduate from public university. Moreover, most of us believe that the higher education degree you have the greater accomplishment you will. However, it has someone who doesn't have a chance to study in university because they are poor so they need to work so hard to find money to stay alive. As I mention at first that education is not the whole thing to make our life success. Why? Because some of achievement people don't graduate from private university and some of them have the highest education level Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In order to grow as an individual, you must first enjoy the adventure of planning, the thrill of accomplishment and yet be able to cope with the labors needed to succeed. Education provides an individual their path to a successful future, but only through hard work, dedication and determination is this achievable. His 2nd year of college he found himself on the Dean's list. This did not come easy; he dedicated all of his time and hard work to his studies. We were so proud of his accomplishment. As time went on, he was constantly calling, but no longer with updates with his studies, now it was about joining this group, and pledging that fraternity. By his 3rd year of college, his grades were dropping; he was not studying as much as he was in the beginning and he was now partying. He grew bored of his classes associated with business; his friends were in marketing so he changed his major to marketing. He never took ownership for his grades failing or his excessive partying. We had long talks with him about making more of an effort with his studies and less on his social life. The more we discussed his failing grades the more he blamed us for being in school, not remembering it was his idea to be the first from his family to graduate. You think school teaches you how to be an adult in the real world but it only teaches you how to be complaint. I never really thought about what I gained as a member of society. I think school tried to teach me where my place is. I learned how even though this is 2017 and women don't have to sit and look pretty, students are expected to sit and look pretty so to speak. For 12 years to earn a piece of paper I learned that I am expected to follow traditional rules and methods. I am expected to do as my teacher says because their title is teacher that means according to society they are smarter and better than you. I learned that my opinion and my thoughts have no merit compared to people with more experience. So thank you to 12 years of sitting in a class for 8 hours everyday to learn how to fake compliance. In the Working class schools, Knowledge was described as a set of facts to be learned. Creativity was not important enough to be incorporated into the curriculum. During Elementary and Middle school we were taught to sit still and memorize facts, information and that there is one way of doing things, the teachers way. This form of education teachers individuals to follow other people's way of thinking and behaving. This is how schools prepare the future workforce population to follow the leader. In this type of setting students aren't taught to think for themselves or solve problems with new ways of thinking or unconventional methods. Teachers want you to be compliant and those who resist are perceived as a somehow less functioning member of society.Students act out and refuse to do the tasks given to them in class not because they don't want to learn but because the teachers aren't teaching them. So people who refuse to accept the Hidden curriculum integrated in our education are perceived as drop outs, stupid, bad kids instead of being seen as kids looking to be taught not going to school and memorize what is already written. In the Middle class school, knowledge was presented as understanding curricular material. There was less fact memorization and an encouragement for students to understand the content of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
